- hey guys
been enjoying fishing for trout with soft baits of late been real fun on my ultra light rod 1-3kg with a 2000 size real I'll chuck the full rod specs up soon had it awhile just dug it out of storage lol
Don't hesitate to ask any questions on how I go about targeting the trout in the lake more then happy to share

Wow great fishing. Are you trolling the soft baits or simply bouncing them off the bottom?
Thanks mate actually dropping them straight down on trout using the fish finder they like to take them on the drop so you will see them come up to eat it. Also got one on the bottom just lifting and falling the softbaits slightly

Awesome stuff mate! What jighead weights were you using? I might have to try this on Taupo, given my recent catch rate 😂
Thanks mate was using (1/6) hook 2h only thing about Taupo I think you can still only use uncented softbaits fish and game water changed a few years back savage gear make some good ones though have caught trout in Taupo on them
I was also using a small split shot further up the line get it down a bit faster
@@skippymac4613 yip, only unscented allowed here, but it should still be fine. I'll give it a go next time I head out 🤙
