Ive seen so many delta striper videos and this was the most informative. Good advice about yhe wind. Early in the season its hit and miss. I subscribed so i can watch when you hit pay dirt.
Thank you! I appreciate the sub! Yes definitely still early in the season. Lots of Threadfin Shad moving in the delta system right now should be a good striper fall run this year!
Hell yeah. Delta Fishing Forever. Keep doing your thing. Best peek in to trolling for stripers on the delta I've seen on RUclips right here. Looking forward to more.
River Otters are competition for fish for sure. But they are fun to watch and playful. When I used to float tube fish they would try and swim up my board shorts!
The early 'fall run top spot' for dozens of schoolie stripers, 10-15 lbs. can be found east of Big Break in the first slot opening into Sherman Island. During an incoming tide, pull several hundred yards west of the 1st opening on the Sacramento, then drift with the current while bouncing hair raiser's against the southern shoreline, use the graph to locate their depth (20-25' depth), until you reach the third opening into Sherman. Then fire up and begin a new drift...

GR8 vid and I've just subscribed. I'm looking VERY hard at fish finders and trolling motors for my pontoon. Health and age have pushed me into selling my fishing boat, so now have a 20' pontoon I'm setting up to fish out of. I've been using the Humminbird Helix on my previous boat, but been looking at the Lowrance and Garmin stuff out there, but not seeing really good comparisons. You've showed me some stuff I've been VERY interested in on the Lowrance! I need to pair whatever unit I get with a trolling motor so that's also on the list. Want something to control the trolling motor while trolling and I don't have to constantly worry about. Also with a remote steering/control and not cost a small fortune!
Thank you! I love my lowrance side scan, is a game changer. They have fish finders on display at bass pro. You can test out on simulation mode and see the difference. Mine is the FS 9 inch with 3 in 1 transducer. It only has a single processor, which is still a super clear image. The Lowrance HD has a double processor Incredible image. Look at the minn kota with GPS , spot lock, and a lot more cool features.
What do you think of fishing Brannan Island Campground and fishing the slough there rather than heading out to main river? I have a little kayak and stay out of the main river.
@@jennifernobriga107 thanks. very disappointing. I figured that a State Parks is patrolled by Rangers, but do understand how this happens since the Rangers have many parks to cover.

They sure are. Haha, that's too funny!
looked like you may be going to fast while trolling 1 mph is a good speed, you were in a good spot!
Thanks. Yeah, I was going about 3mph
@@fishtherapy247 I am lucky enough to have been able to fish this spot for the last 50 years or so. Good luck to you.

Steamboat slough . Launch out of hogback . Free
Yeah, Brannan Island should be producing some good striper, three mile slough is slower current, or Sherman Island is also good for kayaks.
