I cried when saw this... I've watched this scene so many times and SO glad she agreed to do it! Raven was so blessed to be able to sing with her and when she wrapped her arms around Raven how special was that! Julie's voice is still sensational and lovely. A soothing instrument of so much love and warmth....she can still sing...she hugs each with her speaking voice and when she sings...love you forever JULIE ANDREWS!
I can't help the tears each time. And it was so evident that all of them were so moved. Just Anne Hathaway's face... and in spite of not singing all those high notes, we cannot help but feel the soothing comfort of Julie's voice. And that sound is the most precious gift!

Julie Andrews is like a soothing balm at the end of a long day. The movies grandmother to all children who watch her, my favourite of the songs she has sung is Feed the Birds.. always.
This scene proves that Julie Andrews IS a singer even after she lost her beautiful singing voice. She was born to be a singer. I hope she will have more opportunities to sing in public.
I was so happy when i saw this. there are singers out there with insane octave ranges whose singing i cant stand but with Julie it was always her enunciation and just the colour of her voice. id listen to an album by her sang like this any day. i understand its up to her what she is comfortable with and to loose the ability to sing the way she wants must have been very painful but im still enthralled to silence when she sings even so.
I wish Julia could be my grandmother. She reminds me of my late grandmother. She portrays and shows the same characteristics as Julia does, except for the fact that my grandmother never got into my face

I went to see this in the theatre. I was hysterically crying from the first note. Julie was part of the reason why I became a singer.
