Best 2 months of my life without a doubt. I went in a little older at 26 and although i had an extremely easy time because we were our DS's last cycle, i felt like i was respected from day 1, which isn't always the case for people. I made friends at Jackson that i will remember forever and it wasn't nearly as hard as i thought it would be. A.CO 3rd BN 34th INF RGT 165 BDE 4th platoon Black Knights 4 March 2009.
My daughter leaves tomorrow morning for Basic Training.😂😢 I'm so proud of her. She's going to be an awesome soldier. Is there a Facebook page? So I can keep up with her training?
16 years ago seems like yesterday..at the 4 year mark while in Germany and before my transfer to FT Bragg i got busted for smoking weed, Or else i would have 4 years left before i retired, i never planned on getting out before, but i paid for my mistakes.
Like 30 something got reset or kicked out (injury, fail grad requirements, sickness, sharp cases). But it didn’t seem like a lot was kicked out. Most were early in the process (you don’t really know them yet) and disappeared quietly
@benfranklin5335 um yes exactly. Why would anyone shoot using an optic with the rear sight aperture up? It blocks your vision and makes it hard to use the optic how it was designed. If the battery dies, it takes less than two seconds to pop up the rear sight and get back to firing.
A summary, however, it hard to translate the intensity of the activities. Same as watching NASCAR on tv vs In person. It’s a different energy and tempo this doesn’t show the day to day activities. When we are in woods for 2 days defending your base from lights out to 6 am then starting your day, it doesn’t show the interactions with trainees and DS, struggle they just going filming a few mins of the grad requirements and making view friendly videos

I was at fort Jackson in 1974 for basic training ,it was tough but I graduated
I graduated last month the Army isn't like they make it seem its turning soft

Graduated at Fort Jackson in 1989. I volunteered for KP all the time to get out of training

How many of them completed basic on time and how many got kicked out

Yeah I graduated about two weeks ago and it is what we do but it's not super hard
Whoever thought this music was a good idea should be fired🤦🏽♂️ this makes it feel like a fun summer camp rather rigorous military training
It makes it look fun but there’s nothing wrong with that. People who’ve experienced it know how hard it is, doesn’t take away from that.
