    Being half Turk I'm very impressed to see an Indian making Turkish delight so good. I used to make them at home when I was in school. Apart from that I buy from famous Turkish places and if I'm in Turkey my city is very famous for all kinds of sweets including Baklava, Kunafah and Turkish delight.

    The pomegranate imparts such a GLORIOUS colour!! And the little crunchy pops of green with the pistachios make these so beautiful . Gosh I could eat a bunch of these. Turkish delight is my favourite sweet ❤️

      @@keylanoslokj1806 I think the Greeks make it differently. It doesn't matter, though, as the Turkic people who settled in what is known today as Turkey, used to be nomadic and had travelled from Central Asia down to India, through Iran and Iraq to Byzantium, part of which is today's Turkey. On their way, they collected foods and customs from every area. Pretty much, nothing of what they cook is Turkish.

    I recently made these but i couldn't be bothered with peeling a pomegranate (too much effort!) instead I used unsweetened pomegranate juice and vanilla (instead of rose water because I hate it). I coated the delights in desiccated coconut. The whole process was quite time consuming - especially the constant stirring - however, I now appreciate why (the better quality) Turkish Delight is expensive - not pre-packed ones. Anyway, everyone was very impressed so thank you for your recipe!

    It looks amazing! I love Turkish Delights, but, unfortunately, I'm a diabetic, so I can't have them very often.
    Will you please make this same recipe with Erythritol instead of sugar?
    Erythritol is a sugar alcohol naturally found in mushrooms and cheese, among others. It has 70% of the sweetness of sugar, but does not affect the glucose level in the blood. Therefore it is safe to use by diabetics. It is said to function the same as sugar. It is widely available.
    If you grind the Erythritol with the corn starch to a fine powder, you can use that to coat the Turkish Delights.

    • @JeanieAngel7
      @JeanieAngel7 3 года назад +1

      Does Erythritol have an after taste like stevia and is it bitter like sweet n low ?

    • @Metalredhead
      @Metalredhead 3 года назад

      @@JeanieAngel7 As far as I know it has no after taste. Some brands of stevia removed the bitter after taste. Some table sweeteners are a blend of 98% Erythritol with 2% stevia.

    • @Metalredhead
      @Metalredhead 3 года назад

      @@MyLockDownRasoi Thank you! If you'd like to have the same level of sweetness as your usual recipe, you need to use 1½ times the amount of sugar in Erythritol. I'm very curious about the result. Please, let me know how it tastes. I would love to try the recipe myself if the result turns out good. Good luck and have fun trying out.
