That does look like a step up from most ATC programs.
I am a current Heathrow pilot and it sounds pretty close to reality. However you won’t hear any say Palma Delivery Tower…it’s either delivery or ground or tower etc. a very minor point.
Your level of ATC is pretty good, so well done.
Regarding clearance I would normally just request ‘clearance’ rather than ‘IFR Clearance’.
142.9 must be a typo. That’s not a valid frequency. The max is 136.9xx (I think).

I also picked up on 142.9. I looked it up in Jeppesen and it is a military frequency. I never knew that the military had VHF allocated frequencies outside the normal range. Learn something new every day!
Try Sayintensions it is really special with full AI that it feels like your talking to a human ATC.
As someone working on a PPL, I wish this covered A/G radio and information stations.

Nice overview squirrel, I appreciate the readout of the clearance given I have a hearing loss. Definitely brings a little more realism to the sim.
That was pretty cool when you got handed over to Heathrow and you forgot to tell the controller you had Information Juliet and the controller wanted you to confirm that you indeed got Information Juliet, which you confirmed and she was cool with that. LOL
But it really looks like a game changer. Even if you don't speak into it, it's kind of like having a co-pilot operating the radio stack for you while you control the airplane, as is the case in real life in some instances.
9:12 you did actually do a readback error which was correctly identified, it wasn't that you did not speak clearly or too quick 👍

At the beginning he mentioned that he would also do some error like it might happen in the real world.
... So, this might be one.
It's good when the program can respond to these errors.

Its only a small nuance but i dont like it how when readin back a SID or STAR it pronounces it in this instance as DRAG three alpha when the correct SID is the DRAGO thre alpha

How does this ai do in Perth international airport in Western Australia?
I’m new to flight sim. Normally use keyboard or Xbox controller. At the moment I don’t have the flight maps available on the tablet is this something to unlock/mod or only available with certain planes. Will definitely want to try this mod
well beyond atc will cost you 30 euro at least and the fenix will cost you 60 euro and then navigraph subscription 10-20 euro can't remember exactly but you can get the flybywire A320 for free which is more than enough to most people wanting to experience more detailed planes :)
The AI must think you spent a few years down under, there's certainly some Aussie twang in there!
Not many people realize but having the Basic International accents forces Basic voices to be used rather than the premium voices selected.
Yep that's where Squirrel got it wrong. That forces the basic intl accents to be used with the basic voice sets, some which are hard to understand. So if you turn that off, it will only use basic English based voice sets. Of course if you use premium from the drop-down menu none of that matters afaik.
I’m thinking of buying this, could you elaborate why that’s a problem? Are the international accents of the basic voices not good?
@@boudewijnzwaal8186 It is extremely subjective tbh. I find them good/acceptable but indeed there are some which have a weird pronunciation of numbers or certain words like QNH or Winds. But as i said you can disable international based accents and it will use only English based ones with softer accents instead of those heavy. Bluntly put you will have less variation but you'll understand them easily.

Hmm... no transition on clearance, no altitude. Or climb via, no departure freq. IFR rated rw pilot here. CRAFT? Anyways probably a decent option for hobbyists but not rw pilots. Recommend Vatsim or Pilotedge or just create accurate atc transcripts by listening to live atc and use text to voice app.

What's funny is that about 18 months ago, when everyone was getting into talking AI possibilities I said this was obvious to me to be something that would revolutionize ATC and literally people all said that was ludicrous -- that AI doesn't work in a way that would allow for this. Some people just cannot see beyond their nose.

Cost is fantastic at 5,000 characters per flight. HOWEVER, once traffic starts getting interaction, those points are going to disappear FAR faster. Still likely a good deal, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more like 50,000 per flight. It'll be less of count once airborne, but on the ground is going to be hefty.
Sayintensions at $30 is a heck of a deal if you do many flights in month. It’s full AI not scripted and on rails.

The MSFS2020 ATC is terrible, even compared to FSX. At least that one was able to vector you to runways instead of only using nav points.
I feel like this is worth getting just for that.

It is not AI driven. It is scripted. AI is only used for the speech and speech recognition as far as I understood

Sounds like a nice scam $30 usd for all the features and a "free" 50,000 characters about 30 mins of speech then $10 for an extra 250,000 characters 15-20 flights for serious msfs players you better be rich

I only use the basic voices which are good - I'll never have the need to use the premium ones. I've only paid $30 and will never have to pay a cent more for the lifetime of the product - it's not a scam at all, just a choice.
not a scam at all. They give you the Basic voice for free so you never have to spend another dime. you only have to pay extra if you feel you can't live without the premium. i think what they did with their cost structure is very fair (originally it was going to be $60 and two tiers of paid voice characters).
@@liortaylor5305 What happened to the mid-tier option? All during development there was free basic, low-cost mid and then premium.
@@RichHeimlich They changed the pricing structure a month or two ago. There are only two now. Free (well, aside from the $30 for the program) and then premium voices which are completely optional and not necessary for the rest of the program to function. It's about $10ish a month for those premium voices.

Yes but without the graphical user interface so far.
