Liz was greedy for jewelry.Richard spendy most of his money to please her.In the end he was sick her.He moved on and never look back where she was concern.
Richard never stopped loving Elizabeth !! Elizabeth received a letter from Richard a short time before he died and he said I want to come home. Richard and Elizabeth loved each other but couldn't live together because both were alcoholic's and had the same temperament. The issue of Elizabeth being greedy doesn't hold much weight because she made more money than Richard. Elizabeth most likely told Richard buy this jewelry piece because I know you cheated on me etc. I also believe that Richard may have taken his art of acting and oratory to a higher level if he hadn't been robbed of an Oscar for " Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf".
I see where you're coming from but it is not as simple as that. Petruchio is aware of Katherina's intelligence and is simply testing her. Jesting. And Katherina is aware of his antics, by now, and is going along while they bond and learn to express love. This is a game, a comedy, after all.
Um...he's trying to find out if she is actually going to act like an adult, instead of a spoiled child. Did you see her smirk into her cup. She knows he's trying to see if she is going to throw a tantrum when they visit or if she is has learned that you get more of what you want if you are actually nice to people than mean and physically abusive.
Great lines in this scene. Thank's for sharing it.

That look on her face when he starts talking nonsense. She knows she is being tested and she's trying not to laugh at him for it.

Wesley Foxx I don't know whether to applaud you or yell at you for that.
@@the_blind_chick Definitely applaud. That was classic. And apt.
Rich was fed up with Liz or he would not have married two young women.

I am not a "feminist", but even this was/is disappointing as far as Kate having to kiss some guys ass to make him happy.
Moo Moo Puppy
Well Kate loves him so...Would've been horrendous if there weren't any love in their marriage tho, luckily there is.

On top of what they commented, did you see the "courting"? 😂
@@phromprong2068 It is entertaining to see Kate try to not be courted.
