- Mrs Jacque Zandstra came to Kuwait along with the late Pastor Jerry Zandstra in 1985 as Christian Missionaries from California, USA.
What started as a tiny colonial church in Kuwait with 17 groups meeting every week, has now grown exponentially to house over 80 different groups of nationalities and denominations to congregate peacefully and share their Christian faith and under the protection of the laws of Kuwait.
In this conversation, Mrs Jacque Zandstra, or as we affectionately call her - Mom Jacque, shares her experiences and thoughts of her 37 years in Kuwait. She shares her story of how the church has played an integral role in the growth and development of Kuwait after the Gulf War of 1991, and how it united the Christian community in Kuwait for decades.
Mom Jacque has dedicated the majority of her life to serving the community in Kuwait, and has stood strong as a lighthouse of faith to the hundreds of thousands of people that have walked through the alley ways of the National Evangelical Church of Kuwait.
This podcast serves the purpose of capturing a memoir of her journey in Kuwait since her arrival in Kuwait along with the Late Pastor Jerry in 1985. In the conclusion of our conversation, she lovingly shares a final message of hope and encouragement to the people of Kuwait, and encourages us to continue sharing the light to those who need it in within our families, our communities and our country.

I was baptised by the pastor Jerry in that church.
It's been more than 20 years , i used to attend this church. Was very much blessed.
As I sat in the TLC auditorium last nite for the New year's eve service, my mind was devoted to being a light for Christ and being a carrier of the good news of Christ.
It's all about service to God's kingdom..
There is no better song than this to express Gods love for us. Kuwait needs more prayers and need more children of God to pray.
Hi brother David Royce. Its been a wonderful experience to be in the Lighthouse Church and especially in The Lighthouse Academy. Mom Jacque and Pastor Jerry are so compassionate and so loving caring and they genuinely love the Lord! Words cannot express how God tremendously poured out His blessings through them. Thousands and thousands of students for sure will never forget how they became parents to all of us. Thousands of Christians in Kuwait knows who Mom Jacque and Pastor Jerry is...I am so blessed to be a part of TLC and TLA with Sis.Joy Mejia and Ptr. Keith Mejia... Words are not enough... I really miss being there with Mum Jacque, the students and our co teachers and Churchmates especially the worship team and i miss all our Indian sisters and brothers who helps in our school and Church...and Mrs. Philomena Pereira who is so dear to me is the only one who can get inside Mom Jacque's house. She's the one taking care of their house for many years...I miss our Bible Studies and Prayer meetings with Mom Jacque in their beautiful peaceful spiritfilled house. I really miss Mom Jacque...A very prayerful mother, leader and friend! I thank God for her life. A very helpful woman of God!!! Many good words to describe her! GOD bless her more and more!!! How i pray to be there agin before she goes back to USA for good! ilove you so much Mom Jacque!

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.....this is my church..... attended ELC/TLC church from the time I was a baby....and till I left the country....so blessed to say, I got called to serve the Lord in 92.....have not looked back since.... though I did think of quitting several times.... praise God for His grace and hand upon my life.....I'm also blessed to have ptr Jerry's hands upon my life....thank you Jesus.....remember during the war, I used to walk to church for service....twice I almost got caught by Iraqi soldiers to be taken to Basra.....eventually I did get caught when I was driving from Ahmadi to Kuwait city.....3 soldiers picked me and we drove all the way to Jahra and to the border....it is by the grace of God was able to escape their captivity.....lots to share and lots of wonderful memories.....i left Kuwait blessing the land.....God is good......in closing; when my wife was carrying our three children, welcome to the family is the song I used to sing to them almost every night....

Ptr Steve....so wonderful to see your message.... I was on the Logos Hope about 3 weeks ago when it docked in Dubai..... thought of you.... I will not forget your last sermon in TLC....that week the Lord called me 4 times to step out for Him..... your message was the first....in it you said "will you go out and serve the Lord" preaching from Isaiah 6....there was a strong pull in my spirit....it was almost as if my heart was pulled out of my body..... God bless you for that word....I did respond to it at the end of the week....took a while....but never too late...I'm serving the Lord....

Hallelujah what a joy to watch and listen to this. My husband and I were there from 1986-1990 when the invasion took place and then from 2000-2002 and I was even one of the pastors for a year.
