I feel your pain. Did the reverse journey years ago & promised myself I would never do it again. So far have keep the promise. Your video is just a gentle reminder to continue to keep that promise. Thank You. Shout out to the driver for getting you there safety, that's a full days work.
12 hours train be much better . Can move around on the train . I recently did 7 hrs from Albury to central . Time went really quick . Booked the daysitter as hubby only pays$21 I’m still a young chick of 60 . Stilll work and look better than 50 Year olds especially when I do promo work in shopping centres . Think people still think I got teenagers at school . I know I look better than some people in their 40s lol . Never dyed my hair no wrinkles still get a wink 😂. Anyhow did Melbourne to Albury on the Victorian train time went really quick and they had USB outlets on the seats and then stayed overnight in Albury and did Albury back to Campbelltown then Sutherland. Time went super quick as walked around from the daysitter to carriage A to the buffet etc and talked to an 82 yr old polish lady . Toilets are very stinky though . It was good in the daysitter as I sprayed that toilet but they definitely need to clean the train toilets and put fresheners in them
Must get on the train one day - as I had planned this day. Yes definitely 12 hours on a train any day would be better than half the time on a bus! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
What can you expect from NSW bus train replacement services? Notoriously crap and . Cattle Class. They are essentially stopping at all the Stations the train would be making the trip longer.. It is easier to just go by bus in the first instance but do an overnighter and book with a no bulls service like Firefly or Greyhound that are efficient and arrive on time. Sydney trains have simply become unreliable and train costs more. I hope you got some refund on your train ticket.
Oh man I've done this route myself, just in the opposite direction! I had no idea it would be so long, it actually became quite an endurance as it was my first longg-distance bus journey, however a 24hr plus hour bus to Alice Springs in the height of flu pushed me over the edge!! hahaha!
If the bus was just a little more comfy it wouldnt be so bad. I've been in buses in other countries where its basically a business class seat and that isnt so bad!
Still travel by bus, no children now, but getting from Toowoomba to Ipswich feels like 22 hours at times that is with Greyhound return with Murray's coaches better trip. Plainland to Toowoomba no return bus from Ipswich.
I did Syd-Perth return many times in the 80s on either Greyhound or Pioneer buses in the day. I think it was 3 day and night trip with one chance only to shower. I was young so I guess I coped, don't think I could do that these days. I don't think much of transport in Aust and I absolutely hate the over priced crap food at these stops.
With all due respect, when taking a rail replacement coach service compared to a normally operated coach service the time taken is different, due to the requirements for the train replacement coaches to cover stations that are further off the highway. The coaches are also not necessarily set up for long haul services like a dedicated interstate coache would be. If you want a true representation of a Melbourne to Sydney Coach service perhaps try a Firefly Express Coach service.
That's seriously epic! Almost tempting actually lol! I've done some long ones one across Turkey around 36 hours I think over 2 nights but 44 hours? Wow! Thanks for watching!
"major train disruptions" three words you never want to see when you've got to be somewhere. But as you say, it is what is, what can you do!? Interesting to see some Australian freeway "Service area"s as they call them in Japan.
Remember there is still no fast train between Sydney and Melbourne as of May 2023. So long bus trips like this are sadly still needed. The Firefly bus does offer things that the XPT still does not have like USB charge ports on every seat on on board Wi-fi and you get off at two desiginated meal break stops as well.
Sadly Australia lags behind a lot of the world in what it offers for long distance travel. Here's hoping that changes in the future. thanks for watching and your support!
I use to drive from Sydney to Melbourne for that company, still working for them but not doing it any more. Depending how many stops along the way,yes is about 12 hours.
Not sure if you've seen my luxury coach video. But it's surprising for such a large country like Australia, a luxury coach isn't a thing. I thought about Adelaide to Coober Pedy through the outback. But dang, at almost $300 one way, I might as well fly! I'm on the XPT in 2 weeks, fingers crossed.
Australia is set up for flying and driving only. The trains are shit, except relatively short journeys, particularly on speed and buses are left to those with no other option. We have that problem of huge gaps between major centres (themselves not huge) and smaller centres being too small to attract proper service - and still quite widespread.
Helo sir im from the philippines... Im.planning to see melbourne too.... How much is the fare? Can i book it in advance? And lastly what bus company is this tnk u in advance
Hi thanks thanks for watching this bus was a replacement for the train so I paid for the train abt 100aud greyhound Australia do the regular buses I think so check them or take the train much more comfortable
Makes you feel any better, I had an intercity bus in New Zealand take twelve hours for 200km without stops on the return trip from Wellington - Auckland :(
Oh my that sounds terrible thanks for watching though I recently finished a vlog due to be published in a couple of weeks of a 23 hour bus ride in Morocco 🇲🇦
Try Sydney to Brisbane with Premier Motor Service from the Illawarra region of NSW - 18 hours to do 1106km..... Greyhound is about 8hrs quicker than PMS.....
@@AndysWorldJourneys on the coach do you think they could still allow a bag which is taller than it says if it’s not as much weight as I measured mine and it’s more 40cm height and 30 wide
@@AndysWorldJourneys I did that round trip maybe 20x over 18 months before COVID. Greyhound v the train isn’t even close. The view would be the only benefit for the train. Air con, Free wifi and USB ports on the bus also.

more than a full day's work, yes indeed that's a tough job!
At least you had two seats to yourself. That trip would have been unbearable with a full bus.
you make a veey good point John. There was a lady for an hour or two but for the most part I had two seats.

Nope nope nope. That sounds awful. At least you survived.
Hahaha. it did drag on and on! But hey, it's all part of travel! Thanks for watching!

Удачи вам 🙂🌍❤💯🎥
thanks
Did you guys did driver’s change over
Good question thanks for watching, and no one guy all the way!
Bus trips mostly get uncomfortable, we had some bad experience while traveling Europe, atleast the weather and views are beautiful out there
That's true. Wouldn't have minded so much but it was supposed to be on a train which is much more comfortable. Thanks for watching

At least the right shirt is being worn
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
Was that bus normally used for such journeys ? Looked more like a train replacement service .
yes youre right I was originally booked on the train, thanks for watching
Typical Bulldogs supporter whinge whinge whinge, get over it and make the most of it
Lol thanks for watching
22 Hours from Sale Victoria to Toowoomba Qld with 2 kids aged 12 & 8 best times.😊
Now that's a helluva bus journey!! Thanks for watching!!!

That is a horrible trip but at least during the day you can look out the windows at the gorgeous countryside. It's worse to do that trip at night
It's just long really that's the hardest part and obviously the train is more comfortable.i agree it would be worse thanks for watching
At least at night you can get some sleep
@@geoffh784 if you are able to get comfortable enough to be able to sleep

Yeah the Indian pacific and ghan are great but mostly just tourist trains and so expensive. Thanks for watching!

Absolutely you are right. I was planning on reviewing the train but what can you do? Thanks for watching!
How about 44 hours, (Seymour in Vic. to Blackall Qld.) express, (with meal breaks). By the second night it was getting pretty long.

Yeah most countries have them. They are all pretty similar in Australia from what I've seen. Thanks for watching!
Oh no, that's quite sad. It must be so tiring for you. But yes sometimes we get stuck like this. Good you are sharing this experience.
it's ok, it's all an ADVENTURE! Thanks for watching!

Gotta love those travel days, even better when you get to do it all on a bus! (heavy sarcasm)

That's long hsul, but you msde it! Long bud rides are a great way to see the world but slow going and sometimes uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing.
it was all those things! still all's well that end's well, right? Thanks for commenting!
Oh bus journeys are quite hectic. They make you so tired that you cannot think about traveling anymore

12 hr in a bus will give me sleepless nights. Glad you had two seats for yourself.
yes its not my idea of fun. But generally after a long day of travel I find sleep comes pretty easy to me. Thanks for watching!
As always, another nice, informative vlog we got

Well that's strange it has such a good name! Thanks for watching !
@@AndysWorldJourneys you’re welcome! I love watching these sorts of videos
Most of these xpt services get cancelled or terminate early and passengers are left to take a bus. Horrible
Ahh well it is what it is! Thanks for watching!
Wow that is hard work!
haha ive done longer this year check out Dubai to Riyadh!
I'd rather just wait until a train is available, my god.
Had to get home for work!
The train I will be getting will be replaced by a bus so good to know how the trip might go, luckily the train back Isn’t being replaced
Good luck! Thanks for waiting

Looks like it was a pretty drive but man 12 hours on bus😬
Tell me about it! Thanks for watching!
Oh, stop complaining. It might be fun!
True! Fair call
I would have asked them to pay for a flight
I think they offered a refund but the bus review more interesting than a flight review
Try the Bus from Melbourne to Perth lol
hmmm an interesting challenge,,,,
That would be a big challenge. I can’t find a bus service from Adelaide to Perth anymore.
I did that trip a many years ago and it was not fun.
I've done Syd-Melb and back on both train and bus. The bus is infinitely more comfortable-the only downside is the rest stop.
Interesting to hear I would always favour train. Do u go greyhound? Thanks for watching

yes ive also catched the bus and train from Melbourne to Sydney and the bus is way more comfortable the seats on the train start feel like concrete
I start driving from 4:30am, I can get to Melbourne around 12pm to have lunch.
WOW that's a fair effort! Thanks for popping by!
