I used to work for Toyota here in the US and I have lived overseas. I’m gonna tell you this Toyotas in America definitely 100% not the same anywhere else. And I don’t like them here but ,I do love my 80 series ,
they send us the leftover like always.

I agree. This is not a real LC! But the sheep are lining up to get them. The Lexus GX is a superior car with that V6 engine and my honest opinion. I don’t want any stinking four-cylinder.

4 cylinder ftw. Selling my 200 series wanna buy it? I don't want to drive a boat anymore

Prado is a land cruiser, it's a light duty land cruiser but it's still a land cruiser!

I’m sorry sir but I highly and respectfully disagree with you on this. Sure this is actually the LC Prado instead of the 300 series and is indeed smaller but if you compare the measurements and dimensions of both vehicles, the Prado is hardly much smaller than the 300 series. In addition they’re both Land Cruisers albeit the Prado is under the light duty line while the 300 series is under the station wagon line. Now sure you’ve made the analogy that it’s like calling the Bronco Sport a true Bronco and I agree because the Bronco Sport is basically a restyled Ford Escape riding on the unibody based C2 platform while the midsize Bronco rides on a proper body on frame T6 platform. However with the Land Cruiser, both the Prado and 300 series ride on the same body on frame TNGA-F architecture which has been proven for toughness and exceptional off road capabilities as shown by the 300 series, in addition this Prado shares many of the 300 series components and off road goodies. Finally they even stated during the world wide unveiling of this vehicle that’s on par with the 300 series in terms of off road capabilities. The vehicle actually does have a 3rd row option as seen in other markets but for some reason they never included that in the US version which I agree sucks. As for the powertrain personally I blame the EPA and their stupid CAFE standards potentially forcing Toyota to use a 4 cylinder hybrid setup which does impact reliability. Though this is something to blame on our government rather than Toyota themselves, but even with that the engine has still be engineered and tested by Toyota’s top engineering team and their strict standards for quality, in addition despite being 2 cylinders less the T24A line has a similar architecture and engineering to the V35A line found in the 300 series. As for styling I think that’s rather subjective, personally I like the retro boxy look and if anything prefer this design over the 300 series but if you dislike it for the reasons you’ve listed that’s understandable and good for you. As for price well heck yeah I’ll take a Land Cruiser for 30K cheaper than its predecessor (Dámn it dealerships you just had to mark up the vehicle once again). So overall unlike the Bronco Sport I think this is a fully fledged Land Cruiser worthy of the name and even though it’s called Prado in most other countries, in most of Europe they do just call it “Land Cruiser” like what it’s being called over here. This is just my response and I respect you if you disagree, if you’re a purist and want something as close to the 300 series as possible, I’d recommend looking into the Lexus LX which is pretty much the same vehicle only much more luxurious and lacking All terrain tires. Equip that bad boy with all terrains and you’re all set. Regardless of my opinion this was a great video to watch and I hope your channel gets more recognition in the future. 👍🙂

I agree with some of what you're saying but then again. The main reason I have a problem is that Toyota USA decided to call it just a land cruiser instead of a land cruiser Prado. I just picked up a 94 Prado from Japan and I'd rather get that over this. Sorry idk if I read everything you said but thank you for taking the time to comment and hopefully we can agree to disagree 💯🤙

To me the 2024 70 series looks way better than this one. This one doesn't really quite feel or look like an LC or even a Prado.
