Do you need a Backcountry permit to camp overnight?
@@RyanAndres hey 👋, currently you do not need any permit to camp overnight.
Chelu thanks for making this video,i was scoping 1 out but i wasn't sure umbe so you helped!!! Esta 🤙
I’m sorry sir but I highly and respectfully disagree with you on this. Sure this is actually the LC Prado instead of the 300 series and is indeed smaller but if you compare the measurements and dimensions of both vehicles, the Prado is hardly much smaller than the 300 series. In addition they’re both Land Cruisers albeit the Prado is under the light duty line while the 300 series is under the station wagon line. Now sure you’ve made the analogy that it’s like calling the Bronco Sport a true Bronco and I agree because the Bronco Sport is basically a restyled Ford Escape riding on the unibody based C2 platform while the midsize Bronco rides on a proper body on frame T6 platform. However with the Land Cruiser, both the Prado and 300 series ride on the same body on frame TNGA-F architecture which has been proven for toughness and exceptional off road capabilities as shown by the 300 series, in addition this Prado shares many of the 300 series components and off road goodies. Finally they even stated during the world wide unveiling of this vehicle that’s on par with the 300 series in terms of off road capabilities. The vehicle actually does have a 3rd row option as seen in other markets but for some reason they never included that in the US version which I agree sucks. As for the powertrain personally I blame the EPA and their stupid CAFE standards potentially forcing Toyota to use a 4 cylinder hybrid setup which does impact reliability. Though this is something to blame on our government rather than Toyota themselves, but even with that the engine has still be engineered and tested by Toyota’s top engineering team and their strict standards for quality, in addition despite being 2 cylinders less the T24A line has a similar architecture and engineering to the V35A line found in the 300 series. As for styling I think that’s rather subjective, personally I like the retro boxy look and if anything prefer this design over the 300 series but if you dislike it for the reasons you’ve listed that’s understandable and good for you. As for price well heck yeah I’ll take a Land Cruiser for 30K cheaper than its predecessor (Dámn it dealerships you just had to mark up the vehicle once again). So overall unlike the Bronco Sport I think this is a fully fledged Land Cruiser worthy of the name and even though it’s called Prado in most other countries, in most of Europe they do just call it “Land Cruiser” like what it’s being called over here. This is just my response and I respect you if you disagree, if you’re a purist and want something as close to the 300 series as possible, I’d recommend looking into the Lexus LX which is pretty much the same vehicle only much more luxurious and lacking All terrain tires. Equip that bad boy with all terrains and you’re all set. Regardless of my opinion this was a great video to watch and I hope your channel gets more recognition in the future. 👍🙂
I agree with some of what you're saying but then again. The main reason I have a problem is that Toyota USA decided to call it just a land cruiser instead of a land cruiser Prado. I just picked up a 94 Prado from Japan and I'd rather get that over this. Sorry idk if I read everything you said but thank you for taking the time to comment and hopefully we can agree to disagree 💯🤙
Hey I bought an 80 series landcruiser and it has an ARB bumper. It didn't come with any of the swingouts so I purchased the tire one. Would I have to remove the whole bumper to add the swingouts?
👋 hello, You should be able to install the swing outs without removing the bumper. I had too much trouble trying to figure it out so I decided to get the swing outs installed at a shop. But I already had some of the ARB bumper put on, I just couldn't figure out how to put the swing outs on.
@@TheAZCruiser Doh! I hope I can figure it out then lol
@@ralphgabb3487 yeah those Australian instructions are something else 😂
Just buy my 80 I'm actually selling it lol
@@TheAZCruiser i bought mine like a month ago. Why you selling it?
You got a prado now? What about the 80?
yes I do. Stay tuned for that =P
They aren't cleaning your brakes, just FYI. They're cleaning the hub before putting the wheel on.
Thank you for the clarification 💯🙏
My experience was bad. They refused warranty repair saying tires were not balanced properly. Tires wore off after 40,000 and supposedly had 70,000 warranty. I will not buy from Costco. Bad service
Good to know abt the diners in Bryce! we are heading to Zion 2 d and Bryce only for 2-3 hrs before we drive back to Vegas. Would a full tank gas be sufficient for Zion to Brce?
Yes it should be more than enough. Even for my smiles per gallon Land Cruiser we made it without filling up. And have a great enjoyable trip 💯🤙
Torque specs for both drain and fill plugs is 36 ft pounds
Thank you for that 🤙
That other socket won’t definitely strip your bolt, it’s called a 12 point socket instead of a 6 point hex. It is meant for 12 point headed bolts. You can use it on normal hex bolts if you need to, just don’t use an impact or something like that with it
Yeah, I'm going to end up switching it out to a different style 💯
Is it cooling better.? Ac colder, too?
@@jgcruisers TBH you need bigger CFM electric ⚡ fans if you want to run full electric, It was fine not in the summer months. Now since it's summer, In the AZ summer heat it struggles still (only 2300 CFM with the 2 fans) If you ran 3500-5K think you would be ok. I decided just to go back to a blue fan clutch and put one of the electric SPAL fans on the front. It's running cool now 😎
@TheAZCruiser thanx you for replying. I was thinking about doing the same but was thinking about electric motors failing, so I got a heavy duty fan clutch from rock auto and it actually keeps it cooler than the original one. I'm in vegas and it is way too hot for 80 series, in my last one I actually used a mercedes benz cooling motor and I was able to cool it down superfast and the ac works better too. I think I will add it again on the one I have now.
You should do a used oil analysis to see how your engine is really doing.
Yes, great idea 💡 I may in the near future 💯
Living my dream through your channel 😂
😜💯
It was turning off to check the pressure. All these type of auto shut off compressors do that it’s normal.
Great video, sold us on heading to Locust Point! Thanks for the detail on the road in also, that's usually a big question.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy and have a safe trip 👍💯
Thanks, weird how they don't have instructions at the pump.
@@joelsassone1182 yes! you are very welcome 🤗, they usually only have vague instructions if they do.
That climb up 17 to Sunset Point followed by the climb out of Verde Valley is a torture test for power AND cooling. Especially in summer among the wacky drivers. But what a rewarding spot for camp 🤘
Yes, for sure 😁 that's where everyone that is going to break down, usually breaks down 😞 lol
That is not good
the best! thanks
Nice video!, I have the same cup holder and I love it
Looks great Look like it doesn't fit with the manual transmission Also i haven't find any one that fit with the fridge console
By the way in saudi we have automatic and manual (we prefer manual) and we have normal central consol or fridge
Nice 💯, we don't have that here in the US market. Wish we did lol. And yes I believe this company BH3D only makes it for automatic transmission LHD and RHD.
Is that area still open? I know quite a few guys that ride out there and they say that BLM rangers have been giving out tickets.
As far as I know it is. I went a few months ago. Just make sure you have an Arizona State Land Pass: land.az.gov/applications-permits
This may be a stupid question.. but do you add blue devil into a empty reservoir or mix it with power steering fluid?
You can add it into an empty reservoir, but I also added some power steering fluid it with it as well 👍
@TheAZCruiser thanks for the quick reply! Still holding up after a year?
Watching this in England, very helpful video as I will be doing this job tomorrow. Thanks !
Glad it helped, 🤙💯

If you overfill the oil this can happen!
I had that happen to me after I used an additive during an oil change. Plugged up my oil filter and left sludge in the pan. LUCKILY I caught it BEFORE the engine locked up. Never using additives again
What additive ? Like an oil additive?
@@TheAZCruiser yes, Rislone oil treatment for high mileage engines. My 5.3 vortec has 170,000 miles on it and I HAVE used that in the past without any problems. This time the viscosity was much thicker and I used a frame oil filter instead of a Delco like I usually use. I noticed a drop in oil pressure driving on the highway and when I got home and went to restart my truck, it started tapping. I shut it off immediately and dropped the filter, PLUGGED, drained the oil, globs coming out, and changed filter and oil again only after 1000 miles. This happened recently too. So far everything is good, pressure is normal again and no tapping at all. I'm going to change it again after 500 miles and watch it closely.
@@thatotherguy1 oh wow, 🤯 that's crazy. My oil pressure is still good on this vehicle however my oil light is on. Going to try to flush the oil sludge out with some oil change cleaner. I believe mine is due to coolant mixing with oil.
@@TheAZCruiser oh that sucks. Hopefully you can figure it out sooner than later and it doesn't ruin your engine. I remember trying to do an engine flush years ago on a gmc 4.3 six cylinder engine with Mystery oil and it ruined that motor. Good luck to you!
Head gasket perhaps
Yes, this particular vehicle has coolant leak internally so that is very likely
My dad fixed a gas tank with a bar of soap and cow poop and something else that I can't remember. Kept rubbing the mixture together till he made a putty out of it. Packed it in the hole and away they went. Learn from your elders.
I guess it works better than the "water" stuff with water because that failed on me twice.
the vapors are whats flammable
Put Bondo on your leaking gas tank. The gas doesn't eat the Bondo.
🔗✅Link here: amzn.to/4e4a3OK
My ass after prune juice.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Seems like someone either put vegetable oil in it without draining the old oil, or the oil is just that old.
It's actually not that old. Think it might be the coolant mixing with it
@@TheAZCruiser ah, did not take that into account, my experience with cars is rather limited and I listed what I knew would cause thickened oil like that
@@sign_verken it usually would run a milky light coffee color after the water/antifreeze came out first. Even starting wouldn't do that. My guess someone added stop leak to it.
Who scared the shit out of it?
What do you think of the quality on both dual and single?
👋 hey there, both seem pretty well built and should last a long time. However I did like the 🔋 terminal connectors for the dual compressor better than the single.
@@TheAZCruiser I just pulled the trigger on dual cylinders. Thanks for the info.
Seriously? A video showing how to pump gas? Is your next one going to be a tutorial about how to wipe our asses?
All oils have ZDDP in sufficient quantities...it's a proven fact that higher ppm ratios of ZDDP does nothing but extend the depletion rate which btw is miniscule anyway. Higher viscosity does not provide any greater protection and actually can cause higher temperatures. Diesel oils across the board are formulated with less than half of the film strength of gas blends and are less temperature tolerant than gas blends. In short, nobody will ever be able to come up with any valid reasoning to run diesel oils in a gas engine from any viewpoint or scientific findings. Yes, a slightly higher viscosity "may" slow leaks...you do know gas blend oils come in different viscosities, right? I suspect that most who dump diesel oil in their gas engines do so mainly for that ZDDP myth. I say myth because not in one instance can anyone provide any study proving that a certain quantity of ZDDP is the best for protection. They can't because there is no such study and there is no such study simply because the compound ZDDP does not work like that at all. It does not "coat" surfaces and regardless of concentrations in oil works exactly the same in every instance...extreme heat and pressure in localized spots. Works exactly the same at 400ppm as it does at 1200ppm. Can you run diesel oil in a gas engine and get away with it? Of course you can as long as the engine in question never stresses that oil beyond it's capabilities. The real question should be why folks continue to use a less capable oil by anyone's metrics when there are far better alternatives.
The minimum wear has been found using basic tribological techniques at 1400 PPM zinc. Above that, the zinc chemically eats the metals, which is useful during break in, but damaging during service life. 1400 PPM zinc is contemporary to API SF motor oil which was the specification from 1979 to 1988 I believe. It declined slightly until the early 2000s when they really dropped it, and old early 80s cars with flat tappet cams started failing. API SP motor oil is perhaps 700 to 800 PPM zinc. Shell Rotella is currently at 1100 PPM zinc.
@@gregorymalchuk272 Minimum wear comes from using a oil with high film strength and a superior additive package, not from a emergency compound such as ZDDP. Anything that "eats" metals as you describe is not useful, even during break-in which by the way happens very quickly...some would argue from the starter motor alone. This is the reason no auto manufacturer has ever felt the need to use any "break-in" oils. The reason you will never find any scientific studies alluding to a specific optimum ppm content of ZDDP is because those that understand how the compound actually works knows beforehand it would be a ridiculous wasted effort. Simply put, more ZDDP does not equate to more protection. I took the time to understand this many years ago and that is the reason I run a off the shelf oil in my NHRA Stock Eliminator race vehicles which use flat tappet cams with higher spring pressures than anything ever offered from auto manufacturers. My oil of choice for my race vehicles as well as daily drivers is Quaker State 5W30 synthetic which currently sports about 900 ppm of ZDDP, but most importantly has one of the highest film strengths of any oils currently produced. Btw, the cam lifter failures everyone likes to allude to the lack of ZDDP actually arose from a substandard metallurgy process from manufacturers of said lifters who no longer found a profit from said products once car makers abandoned the technology. Couple that with the insistence of consumers using low film strength oils...diesel oils included. Additive packages are what make or break a engine oil...not a percentage of ZDDP. If one is seriously concerned or convinced that a high ppm value of ZDDP is the solution to all woes you don't need to look any further than the millions of used oil samples tested. Drill it down and completely eliminate any roller cammed vehicles and you will find the depletion rate of ZDDP is so miniscule it can barely be measured. If that information is not enough to convince/convert you about the ZDDP myth all I can add is you can lead a horse to water...
Way too f*ing babbly...
Idiot doesn't know the difference between 20% cheaper and 20 cents cheaper...
Is an AWD can make it? Specifically Rav4. Thank you!
You could be able to do it with AWD, but I would definitely recommend a spotter if you were to.
Hi , do they adjust Camber and toe there right please let me know asap thanks .
Yes, they do all that when you get an alignment 👍
@@TheAZCruiser thanks , I just did the front suspension , quick struts and lower control arm and my front tires doesn’t looks straight will Firestone Alignment adjust all that and make the wheel straight up ?
That drone roll got me all 🤢 u need learn a bit more on it to control it right
Whether it damages the cats or not ultimately depends on how much the engine burns. If it doesn't burn much, it's safe to use. But an engine that burns oil will damage the cat even if you use petrol oil. Also, the fact that you get higher oil pressure indicates that it might be too thick for your engine. Your pump will push it no matter what (unless it's tiny or badly designed) because the engine rotates it with huge force, but good oil pressure is the optimal oil pressure, not just the highest. Thinner oil might seem "weak" to most people but the fact is that it gets where it needs to be quite faster and reaches spots where thicker oil will not, and that's what matters. It's also easier for the oil filter to filter thin oil.
