you probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing this information! My brother bought me the Nikon Z50 and I’m a total beginner but I don’t want to use auto mode. So you going by each of the settings and explaining them is greatly appreciated. I feel so much more confident now, thank you!
I just bought a Z50 and am a complete new photographer. Did not understand a thing. The instruction booklet did not make things easier but thanks to your video I am good to go! SUBSCRIBED! THANKS!!!
I intended to purchase the Nikon Z6, but was out of my budget so I went with the Z50. I’m honestly not disappointed with the Z50’s performance and it does what it needs to do for my work
I have just switched to Nikon Z50 from Nikon D500 and D750 for a lighter kit. This video has been so helpful and a great reference. Thank you for this great tutorial.
Just picked up a 2nd hand Z50, what an absolute steal. The long part was well worth sticking around for, Coming from a Canon SLR body I feel like you just downloaded years of Nikon knowledge into my brain. 🙏🤯🧘🏻♂️
I just ordered my Z50 and wanted to get a headstart on setting it up when it arrives. This video is FANTASTIC for that purpose. Comprehensive review of the menus and settings, without long winded and boring explanations. Even with my ADD, I was able to make it through the entire video - it's that informative and entertaining. Liked and subscribed.
I just purchased this camera and I have to say, your videos are life saving. Such great information. I love the way you explain everything. I don't know if its just me, but the sound of your voice is very soothing lol thanks for these awesome videos!
Just upgraded from D90 to Z50. I watched to the end and will return to set up my camera. Very good instruction! Thank you so much! I will be searching out more on your videos.
OMG I was so lucky to pick this video first! You go through everything fast and my brain works like that. I can’t believe I just watched you for over an hour! Everything I need to know for my new camera. My last “real” camera was SLR decades ago, and I’ve been using my phone since then. Finally took the plunge for this camera for photographing wildlife and especially birds. I have the telephoto lens too. Thanks to you I can get set up and going so fast. Subscribed for more great info I’m sure!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Not only is it crystal clear in instruction reflecting what I imagine is a really deep knowledge base, the humor and the hair make my day. This is my first "grown up camera" since a vintage square format camera I had 30 years ago that was super simple to work with, not all the options you have now.
Hi Jared. I've sat through so many hours of video since I bought this camera 3 mths ago. This was definitely the longest, but also the most useful. Thanks for explaining all the technobabble in my manual. Now I know what the purpose of each setting is, and whether I should try something new next time I am out on a shoot (almost sounds professional). I am taking a day course this weekend, so hopefully I won't embarrass myself or shame my lovely camera.
This HAS TO BE the most helpful video for a Z50 owner. I've had mine since December, and I'm still not sure if it is a keeper. Exposures seem to be more inconsistent than any other camera I've owned. Hopefully with your suggestions, I'll get the results I know the camera is capable of.
Brother,.... your user guides are the best ive ever seen...... i watch them even though i dont own the cameras you are showing/teaching....... thankyou so much for your content!
Bought a Z50 yesterday and already love it. Learned photography on a film SLR 20+ years ago, and re-learning is turning out to be a joy. Thank you so much for this tutorial, it is already incredibly helpful and also fun!
I started off with a big bowl of popcorn ready before I started watching. Anyone that purchased this camera, or interested in getting one, this is a good video to watch. You’ve done this with other cameras and is a great reference to watch a few times if you’re trying to find information about a setting.. Like many cameras, not everything is in the manual. I like the timer mode where you can select so many photos per second. This might come in handy when a speedlite is used and you set the frequency and interval in both devices.
Wow, I’m embarrassed to say that video was mind blowing! It’s packed full of great info! I’m going to need to watch it a few hundred times to have it all sink in. Thanks so much for sharing all of your knowledge! I hope to get off the Auto setting sometime in the near future.
This is super lengthy, but as you say, it's like an online user guide and very valuable for that reason. I did watch this in "chunks" and then play with the camera in between. I absorb this much more easily than I do text in a tiny font in a tiny book. I'm definitely an amateur, but have enjoyed photography for a long time. However the technology and lingo is sometimes beyond me. This helps. Although I would have benefited sometimes from more explanation as to what manipulation of some of the features will do to the image.
I stuck on till the end . A fantastic presentation and dissection of all thee features. I can start shooting my way and not the camera way . Thanks Jared
Watched this video during my lunch for tips to shoot on my Z50. I love my camera, one of the best investments I’ve ever done. The kit lenses have been more than great for what they produce and currently awaiting my new 85mm lens, it’s a small but mighty camera!
Did you get it, how is it? I'm REALLY not crazy about the size of the Z/S primes so I'm FTZ to 1.8G's for now. It would be great to see a comparison between them.
The best introductory video for new owners of the excellent little Z50. I have a long history of camera use, mainly on film. I decided to join the 21st century and mirrorless is the future. This video gives me full confidence of getting the best out of my purchase. Thanks very much Jared!
Thank you so much -- I upgraded to this camera from my Nikon D3300 right before a big trip I'm taking in a few weeks and this helped me feel super comfortable using it.
Jared, I've been following your content for the past 7 years. I've learned so much from you, and here I still am. Thank you so much, this is my favorite photography/video channel! I'll dare to one day send you my content for review hahaha
I'm very slow at moving into the mirrorless world, for a number of reasons, and am just starting with this baby beginning level. I'm so glad your great tutorial on setting it up was still available! I'm happy with the camera and lenses so far.
Fantastic tutorial and very thorough! I've had the Z50 for about 4 months now and have been extremely pleased with it and not used it to nearly it's potential. Some of your points that you brought out in your tutorial, that I rigorously drove through to get to the end, made perfect sense and are things that I have missed on this outstanding camera. Hopefully good footage is to come!
Thanks Jared! Just picked up my z50 a few weeks ago and appreciate the help getting it set up. I remember starting out in 2017 with my D3400 and you helped get me on track there as well. ✌🏾
Thank you for taking all this time for us..... Wooo... I just got this...received this Feb. 15th.... the battery is charging to then be inserted in camera compartment door... Glad I saw that here that helped right there... Had to call 800# on settings on something and he guided me the battery itself needs to be charged first then "good to go" as Jared says lol.... wooooo I'm just beyond SOOO excited to try it. .. I also have been wanting a Nikon since '70's... had an opportunity to grab this one...... Thank you from here in Gloucester, Mass
Thanks! This helps me with my new Z FC….Would love to see a new-ish companion video to showing us all the fun manual dial stuff I have now. :). Thanks Fro
Thanks Jared. I just acquired a Z50. Your video was very thorough and informative. I currently have a D500 for bird photography. I wanted something lighter to carry around for street photography.
Thank you for posting your videos they are very informative, and you are easy to learn from and follow as I am new to photography. Looking forward to learning more and having fun!
Hey man, just got my new z50 last night and had assumed I would be starting out in Auto & then trying to figure my way out of it.... So glad yours was the first video I found, I did make it all the way through ✅ (with a cereal break) and I think I’ve got a handle on it. Heading out to start taking pictures. 👍👍👍 Thanks so much, looking forward to what comes next.
Thanks Jared for the tutorial. I just "downsized" from my D7000. I loved it, but found I wasn't really taking many pictures anymore because my camera bag was just too heavy and cumbersome. This excellent video gave me a very nice start at setting up my new Z50
I dont have this camera but I know I will learn so much...as a serious hobbiest/entrepreneur with pro aspirations, every morsel of info is magical....🙂so Thank You!!
Thank you for the entertaining and informative video. I watched the entire video and followed along, making changes that you suggested. I haven't taken a single photo yet, but thanks to you I am able to begin this new journey with confidence.
Thank you so much! I've never owned a camera before but got really interested in photography for the last few months, I am finally buying the z50. This was so helpful ❤
Just spent all day watching your video and taking many MANY notes. Thank you for taking the time to make the video for us. I have a LOT of learning to do.
Thanks, this is a life saver! I'm coming from an old Nikon D70s that we've had for about 16 years. I usually shot manual on the D70s, but it didn't have an overwhelming amount of options either, so I was quite overwhelmed after trying out my Z50. I even had a hard time trying to change "basic" settings like shutterspeed on my new Z50, but after watching this video I can go back to shooting again like I used to! I finally know what to do with all of the buttons.
Thank you for a great explanation for using this camera. I certainly took your advice and cannot wait to start using this camera to its full potential.
I just ordered the Z50, it will be my first camera stepping up from a cell phone and Gopro. Your video was very informative, I will definitely use it as a reference when my camera arrives 👍
Great vid!! I just purchased a Z50 as a second camera and introduction to mirrorless. I’m happy with the purchase and thankful for this detailed video!!
Wow! Thank you SO much for this video! It was incredibly helpful to a new owner of a Nikon Z30! You are an amazing teacher with clear, easy to follow instructions!
Great tutorial for a beginner like me. It would make it easier to review certain sections if there was place markers or chapters. For a video over an hour would be good!
incredible instruction, nice light jokes too, and i stuck around, way more informative than the users manual the camera came with!! you sir have gained a subscriber
Great video, it was very informative. We finally upgraded from a D40 to the Z50 and rented the 35mm 1.8(thanks for the promo code) to take on vacation and it worked great. We really enjoy these videos.

Check out my hands on pREVIEW of the Nikon Z50 in the park photographing a 2 year old. ruclips.net/video/42uM-HcJPKY/видео.html
Are you going to add a real world review in the near future?
Jared Polin I watched this to see if the video settings allowed for a raw format. You didn’t even show the menu for either quality or format.
We have a fan of Contra 😂
you probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Wilder Henry Instablaster :)
This is the kind of tutorial you need to watch more than one time.
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing this information! My brother bought me the Nikon Z50 and I’m a total beginner but I don’t want to use auto mode. So you going by each of the settings and explaining them is greatly appreciated. I feel so much more confident now, thank you!
As the Z50 remains a popular camera, I continue to recommend this video to new users. And I still refer back to it! Thanks Jared!!
I don’t have this camera, but here’s a View and a Like for all the great content FroTeam!
Whenever I purchase new equipment, first thing I do is check out your tutorials. Thank you for doing this!

Thank you so much for great instructions video! My Z50 arrived today and I don't know how I could set up my camera without this video.
Very informative. I watched until the end. I am going to set my Z50 according to your suggestion. I am a newbie. Thank you for sharing

I've had my Z50 for a few weeks now and super happy with the purchase! I essentially bought it as a small and compact travel or daily use camera.
Thank you sir, I used the video you made on the d3500 to help me set it up and now I’m watching you again because I now have the z50. Well done.
Having gone thru this several times has been of great value to me. As a novice I really appreciate your mentoring.

This is the first camera I have ever purchased and since I know nothing about photography, I found this video incredibly helpful. Thank you!
