    I'm not sure, but the significant freeboard and deck saloon might increase the windage of the boat significantly, potentially making a journey with crosswinds and waves quite uncomfortable. While the accommodations are impressive, the crucial question remains: how does it perform in rough weather?

      Huh? Moody has been building this DS decksaloon range for what, over a decade now? It's not like it's some great unknown. It's fine.
      Also there's like a thousand different motorsailer types out there with a similar form factor.

    The continuing effort to make sailboats more like powerboats. Flatter and wider hulls, operating space above the waterline and more. I think they got it right! Sailboats historically in an effort to keep the center of gravity low, have had most of their interiors below the waterline (with exceptions of course). For some this is disconcerting being in the “basement”. Now with a wider beam, having a higher center of gravity is possible.

      I think it is not so much a function of fatter boats as it is enabled by fatter wallets. Furnature is light compared to full tanks, engines, batteries, generators...
