Honestly jsut walking through artstores even without buying anything is such a relaxing activity 🥰bI haven't been in one for ages so thank you for taking us with you 😊
Oh my gosh, that must be what heaven looks like!🤩 I kept telling Don that I would get in so much trouble in a place like that! Thank so much for the lovely tour. I live in very rural Vermont and don’t really have an art store nearby.
i love artist and craftsmen supply. the one that i live by is in an old downtown charleston sc house with three stories packed with art supplies. super friendly staff and a large array of art supples and framing stuff and even textile arts stuff like dyes and paper marbling book binding silk painting and more
3:37 I agree! Just go to Cornelissen for the vibe. Most things are expensive, but I remember the nib holders were not that expensive, their prices were normal.
This was so lovely to watch.. I live in New York ( not in Manhattan, but outside the city), and have always loved Blicks .. It's heaven for me , each time I go there .. Luckily ,I have one that is half hours' drive from me, so easy peasy .. They always have the web price match as well , and most of their pricing is as reasonable as can be.. As huge as their stores are, they have even more items on their website.. thx for this video.. Norakag, here 👍👍
Last December I was in Londen between Christmas and New Year’s Day. So I went to Cornelissen and sons. It felt almost like harry potter and olivander with the brushes as magical wands and Al the bottles with beautiful colors. I was lucky to find my Khadi fatbook over there which was sold out at Londons graphic and the small jacksons store. The large jacksons was unfortunately closed that week.
I'm most likely to buy art supplies from Amazon as mobility is an issue. These shops made me think of the wand shop from Harry Potter and how it would look and feel like that! 🤗 The age of the building and the, I want to say, mystique around a shop like that really adds to the vibe of the shopping experience!! 😍 Beautiful looking stores! 🥰 We wouldn't have buildings nearly as old as the ones in London could be, but there are shops in older buildings, especially in smaller towns, in the midwest of USA that are in buildings similar to that feeling. Always fun to poke around in them to see what new surprise is hidden around the corner!! 😊
@SketchesnScrubs Exactly!! 🥰 Not the sterile feeling of brand new box stores. So much more character and history! 😍 You're very welcome!! 🤗 Thank you for the mini London trip! 💞
How wonderful, I am having art shop envy. I live in the far southwest of Cornwall and we have a good art shop in Truro, but nothing on the scale of this. I think I would have sensory overload lol. I have shopped online with The London Graphics centre as well as the usual art sites online, like Jackson’s and Ken Bromley.
My favourite art store is Great Art in Hoxton, London. I have got some unbelievable deals in-store (as opposed to online). Daniel Smith Watercolour sticks at £4.30 each to get rid of the stock! Also, Schmincke watercolours pans for £2.50 - £3.50 each - same reason.
Locally I have Hobbycraft and a small shop, both with quite a limited range. Fortunately, London is an hour and a half away by train, so I feel a day trip coming on.
I dont have any art stores close by me unfortunately. But online, I really like St. Louis Art Supplies, I would love to visit the store in-person, one day.
Very beautiful store and very nice range of products, like the other art stores in London it will make many artists happy. The fountain pens are also very beautiful, pretty hair lady😊😊
I need to get out of the US. There’s a small art shop similar to this one near me. I absolutely love it. It’s beautiful and has similar vibes to this and the smell is amazing! I want to go to London so bad now. The art shops are calling me. 😂
I just visited London and many of the art stores. It was a lovely visit although I didn’t get to Jackson’s. Next time hopefully. My favorite store this visit was Stuart R Stevenson. It was a delight. Wonderful owners and staff. Thanks for your videos!
You should next go to Stuart R Stevenson and then Green and Stone. They are as expensive as Cornelissen. Green and Stone even has an antique shop attached to it. If you’ll spend money, you might as well spend big time and buy an antique wooden art box. Let me know if you find any such box below £1000 😂😂😂.
That looks so lovely. But the self control of buying nothing at all? Wow. Here in North Yorkshire I have to recommend a small but lovely shop who give advice and encouragement - in Thirsk - The Artist's Palette.
I wish I could go to a art shop like that. I get all my art supplies on line. We had a nice ar shop, it was called Bud Rickerts. Unfortunately they went out of business.
The first time I went to an art store, I went to Michaels, which isn't even dedicated solely to art supplies, and I was so excited to see brands that I recognized online such as Qor, Daniel Smith, and Winsor and Newton.. They had one size/block of Arches, which I had never seen in real life before.. More recently I visited Blick, which was even better, as it was solely dedicated to art supplies. There were markers and pencils, M Graham watercolors, as well as W&N and DS. They had behind glass a shmincke set, as well as a Sennelier set and a Qor set. And a whole wall with various brands of paper, Arches cold press, hot press, rough, and lots of other brands. It was even better then Michaels and I could have stayed there all day. I would move to London just to see all these art supply stores you mentioned in person. lol 🤣 Prices are normally better online, I find, but there is something about purchasing in a store ❤
I would love to go to Jackson’s someday! At the moment my favourite art shop is Bradbury Art in Belfast. It’s really the only convenient one that I know about in Belfast. I was recently in Manchester and discovered Fred Aldous which has two lower level floors with so many art materials!! I wish I had had more time to explore there after going to Cass Art nearby. I could’ve done a lot of damage in Fred Aldous. 💸💸💸
The pencils....I don't use pencils, but they look beautiful.....the Senneilier oil pastels....oil pastels frustrate me, but they are calling to me as well....😍😍😍
There’s something about art supplies being colour coordinated in a shop 😂🤣😍 I always look at the oil pastels too… knowing full well I don’t like using them, and still I’m always tempted when I see them in store 😂🤣
Nothing better that browsing around an art shop, great vlog. 😊💜😍
Soo true 😂❤️ Thank you!
A gorgeous shop, I popped in when during a trip to London in November. All the pigments higher up had me droooooling! 😍
They are stunning to look at x
Green & Stone in Chelsea is also soo good! Another antique-looking art shop, but with two floors and a gallery next door
Thank you x
The drawers of half pans....the walls lines with hanging tubes of professional paint......😍😍😍😍
❤️❤️ calming to the mind! 😍 xx
Yes I love art supplies! I sometimes browse their website and then you paid the store a visit. Love it. Thanks for sharing. ❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching Shadowguard ❤️
@@SketchesnScrubsyou’re welcome! 😊❤
I tend to gravitate to my local art store in Truro, but do visit Cass Art when I'm called to work in Bristol.
Thanks for sharing, Truro 😍 I hope to visit Cornwall one day x

Just browsing the shelves there, is what wet dreams are made of. Beautiful presentation of all these goodies.
Glad you like the video!

It is a highlight memory from my time in London.
Soo glad you enjoyed it x

Only one left in San Diego ( BLICK) so sad we lost Rhino Art! I loved your walk through!
I’ve heard good things about Blick. Lots of artists on RUclips seem to go there!
Such a cozy video 😍 I would love to visit this store! I also need to use all my art supplies more before trying something new.
i really like The Great Art London store in Shoreditch too as they have good prices. especially for individual pencils and pastels
Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
I’ve just come back from London last week and incredibly this was the only art store I haven’t been to , so thank you for sharing!

😂😂😂😂 I soo relate to this

@SketchesnScrubs Unfortunately, those deals have long gone, but I still check in once every month or so to see what other deals they have on 😀
Locally I have Hobbycraft and a small shop, both with quite a limited range. Fortunately, London is an hour and a half away by train, so I feel a day trip coming on.
I hope that you enjoy your trip April! x

Thanks for the recommendation! Looool £1000 😂 I look forward to the day I can spend such
May be nice to look around nonetheless x
Aw, this is so much like the Senellier store!
Another one to add to my list 😅😉
My favorite art store is Blicks in Kansas City
That looks so lovely. But the self control of buying nothing at all? Wow. Here in North Yorkshire I have to recommend a small but lovely shop who give advice and encouragement - in Thirsk - The Artist's Palette.
Thank you for sharing Jan! There’s something so special about the little stores ❤️
I love London graphics but Cass Art is also fabulous and they have several

Did you mention in the video that Cornelissen does price match?
I didn’t, i don’t think they did at the time - do they do that now? Xx
@ I must have misheard you in the video. My bad! 😅
Accent arts in California. I have no idea how Gil got that many items in such a small space.
Thank you for sharing x
My favourite art store is Jackson’s online. We don’t have a Jackson’s in Cambridge. But we do have a Tindalls art store.
The pencils....I don't use pencils, but they look beautiful.....the Senneilier oil pastels....oil pastels frustrate me, but they are calling to me as well....😍😍😍

You say you are making your own watercolors now? I'd love to see a video on that! (Once you are ready of course.)
I am! I'll share soon x

0:18 What is that sketchbook?
Antique-style sketchbooks for… £43 😳.
:O :O lool thanks for finding it x
@@SketchesnScrubs 😁
Covent Garden is not close to Cornelissen. I remember it being a fair walk away.
It’s a 10 minute walk x
@@SketchesnScrubsI’m tired already just thinking about it 😂.
I wish I lived in England... 😭My favorite art store is Amazon, because I have access to damn near everything.
Lol I love it too...though I think it better in the usa than the uk, not the best for supplies here :P x
@@SketchesnScrubs Yeah, but it's prettier over there! 😃
I pretty much just go to London Graphic as they are the easiest for me to get to. I've never gone to Jackson's! Someday...
I like London graphic Centre too! It’s quite far from me but I look forward to going back one day x
Favourite art store: I don’t know 😂. I would like to work at Cornelissen, though, but not live in London.
Lool fair enough x
First!
Thank you @awatercolourist! ❤️
The Harry Potter store. Or so my sister calls it.
It certainly has that feel!
