It's interesting how the last three big dynasties of the NBA have been passing the torch from 1991 until today. The Duncan Spurs won the first championship after the Jordan Bulls won their last, and the Curry Warriors won the first championship after the Duncan Spurs. If last year was indeed the last championship of the Curry Warriors, the Jokic Nuggets are set to become the next big dynasty.
A.I. was the 1st superstar of the 2000s. Not Shaq. A.I. sold just as many magazines as Jordan did when they were on the covers. Kobe didn't catch on til three or four years later. A.I.was the only guy who could probably outdraw MJ or at least match him. You somehow left out Vince Carter's impact on the fans in the 2000s & 2010s. The 2000s western conference having all of the top power forwards is what made them dominate the East in the finals.
2000s was way better than todays garbage NBA. Everybody had to work for their offense or capitalize off mistakes because the defense was tough I also enjoyed the 2000s LeBron era, long before the way people see him today due to the frankenstein teams, politics, and everything else he was the hometown hero who was supposed to bring them a chip and was really actually quite a big part of Cleveland's economy. His first two years he was just a young baller and got big props for coming out of the gate scoring 20ppg, then towards the middle-late 00s people started to expect him to bring a chip, making the finals in 07 was big progress and showed how good he was to carry that trash team but of course the Cavs were way overmatched. 08 he improved as a player some but his roster didn't improve much, in 09 and 2010 he had decent teams but they didn't get it done. It wasn't until towards the 09 season people started to talk about LeBron potentially going to other teams. But those years from 03-09 were really cool years, seeing LeBron's speed and how high he would fly and the power he flew with during those years was really "The chosen one" and the "Witness" era and people admired how crazy athletic he was and the way he was able to make his teams overperform. Once he left to Miami it's pretty much, alright you killed some of the magic and you better win now. Giannis isn't a Milwaukee hometown guy obviously, but he managed to make that magic happen that LeBron was chasing from 03-2010
But we cannot forget Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady put in Toronto on the map, leading the first ever play-offs, both of them being in the most legendary slamdunk contest performances of all time the uniform and the attendance from the front. We cannot forget that and I wonder why it’s not mentioned in this video.
I really liked the other videos on this series, but I think you went a but to doom and gloom on the death of the traditional big man, it would have been nice to see a bit of a breakdown on the rise of the Complete Point Guard and Point Forward, etc. Still a solid video but it didn't seem to have as much effort as the previous videos in this series. You're still doing and amazing job and I hope your channel continues to grow because even though this seems to be below your standards it's an amazing video.
Best era along with the magic and birds era in my opinion, where players still play hard. Defense was still a factor considering the pistons won a championship. Hard dunk, impossible layup ( i rememver memorable ones from tmac, kobe, iverson now happens very rarely), clutch threes, big man were relevant, every team got their stars more balanced league, all stars were exciting was very fun to watch. Now the league may be more efficient with tons of threes and lack of effort in defence but in my opinions not as entertaining as is used to be. Although in recent year its getting better with Europeans step in.
Yeah, there were times I went to games wanting to see a guy dunk and it never happened. But I much prefer to see a tough defensive well played game with no dunks allowed VS standing to the side and allowing guys to just dunk 10X a game

But then you fast forward to todays garbage NBA and we were blessed to get to watch a hard working guy like Kobe show up to work everyday against a physical NBA. I used to point out that he missed a lot of shots, but when he was taking a lot of those shots he had guys right on top of him while he took the shot, hand in his face, body contact, trying to play dirty, etc. A totally different planet from todays trash NBA where guys are just shooting wide open jumpers because the defense will get called for a foul if their pinky slightly grazes the shooter so instead they just stand back and half heartedly try to put their hand up You can't play proper defense in todays NBA unless the guy your guarding is half a foot smaller and you're able to use your length without any slither of body contact
