Jimmy is tied for most 40 point playoff games in the last 5 year span. The thing with Jimmy is that he has all the intangibles as well. Thats why his teams have had so much playoff success. On paper those teams have no business reaching even a conference finals but they have been a fixture almost every season. To reduce the playoff jimmy narrative to pure counting stats is a bit reductive.

Everyone is overreacting to the loss of KCP. Of course, Nuggets would rather have him on the team, but Nuggets is still a contender because I genuinely think the bench got much better. In short, I would say the starting lineup got slightly worse because of the lack of shooting, but bench improved quite significantly from what Nuggets had before. Nuggets was desperately in need of a backup PG and center more than any other positions. When is the last time Nuggets have a legit backup PG and Center? Most likely, Monte Morris back in 2019-20 season when the team was healthy. As for center, it was DeMarcus Cousins, but that was when Murray was injured as well. Before that, Mason Plumlee? Dario Saric is a clear upgrade over Mason Plumlee or Zeke Nnaji in the past year. And I am 100% confident that even an age 36, Russel Westbrook is much better than Monte Morris or Reggie Jackson. Just to clarify this point as well. Russel Westbrook is supposed to be the Reggie Jackson replacement, not KCP replacement. While Christian Braun is likely to be the KCP replacement. Also, it's kind of absurd comparing the Bucks to the Nuggets. There are similarities between them, but they are not the same. Just look at the average age between each team's core and who is under more pressure to win another ring. As for the upgrades the Bucks made. I'm not so sure they have fixed their defense entirely. Another important factor is mid range percentage. This is mentioned the least. Even though lebron has a higher TS% he is in no way actually a better shooter than Jordan. Just by looking at the shot form it’s evident. Offensive stats are easier to come by today and consequently trying to be equitable by comparing advanced stats will be futile because of rule changes in the early 2000's. (No hand checking today) Today's NBA is almost a different game then when Bird Hakeem and MJ played. There is no way to objectively compare these players apples to apples. It's like comparing cantaloupe and honey dew melons. It's all about preference. It's way too subjective. Golden Era basketball was like watching Chess. People got bored of how slow it was and how low scoring it could be at times especially between two defensive masters. The NBA has now become checkers. Fast and high scoring.
