This is not Shakespeares Macbeth, it is based on the Russian opera/book Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (author Nikolai Leskov)
thank you for sharing that fact
Thanks, I was wondering what the hell was going on.
I was also wondering what was going on... lol XD
Iris Maya Both ohhhhhhh that explains a lot
Maya B Thanks for the information. I was thinking it was a "Wuthering Heights" update but with the wrong title.
Looks interesting though.
Watched this film, wanted to come and share that the trailer does not give away anything...the storyline is so much different and complex. Also, surprisingly good; highly recommended if you like Tarkovsky and Haneke...dark and enjoyable.
I totally agree. This movie is not what it looks like. After trailer I loved this woman and after seeing movie I hate her very much :D. And in the end this movie is very aesthetic.
Oh, thank you! I was worried I'd seen too much.
Glad to know, I was worried that the trailer had spoiled the movie too much.
Haneke??? I WILL WATCH THIS NOW!
Edit: watched. No , Haneke is way too good for this.
So grateful to have been born in 1993 instead of 1793. Movies like these remind me how lucky I am to be 26 in 2019. Even being a woman in the 70’s was a lot harder than now.
Indeed. And we owe alot of our freedom and possibilities to the punks, believe it or not. They were the ones braking down bourgeoise walls
@Itzlen cs go If you're a white man then yes perhaps it might be enjoyable.
@Itzlen cs go The benefits of holding power over people of color and women?
@Itzlen cs go Wow, you seem like a nice person to be around...
Not a Lot harder but women have been treated like animal. everything i understand but when she kill that child i have understand that she is crazy
I feel like someone smashed Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights together and squared the Gothic factor.
so it's going to be blissfully good, as Jane Eyre is my Bible...and Gothic my religion...her blue dress is enchanting...how wonderful dressing like that would be...
And Lady Chatterly's Lover
Sophie Farthing yah exactly even soundtrack remaineds me the soundtrack of the withering hought
@Rhys Henville No, it's quite fitting as it's white culture and heritage to force Africans into their contexts.
I just watch it yesterday and it was a masterpiece for such a small budget. The acting of everybody, especially that of the lead character, was moving and makes you feel conflicted about her. I still can't get over the film. The ending makes me want to groan and scream in frustration. In the end, I finally managed a short, "WTF". Definitely a very memorable film for me. Two thumbs and big toes up for me.
you can tell that the budget was a little starved, but that hasnt stopped them directing and casting an amazing movie. It honestly look really good, lighting and everything is spot on. They have done a good job making something out of nothing, hopefully to make loads back from it.
GoonaTV thank you for your expert critique
Now THAT'S the mark of a great film!

Dude, the cinematography is 👌 I totally believe you because reasonably an indie movie such as this would have to be efficient, but my god... those landscapes and colors... on everyone.
Lets see u do a better job since u think it was lacking something lol
When they said "Imagine Alfred Hitchcock directing Wuthering Heights" I was like, "Done! This one goes on the list!"
Florence Pugh is incredible. I love her!
Can’t believe she was only nineteen was she filmed this
wait really??
She looks older than her age
But she's pretty
Few films cause me to put my hand over my mouth and stare wide-eyed at the screen, but LADY MACBETH elicited such a reaction out of me. That said, I'm so glad I saw the movie before watching this trailer. Spoilers much?
Almost nothing
likely one of the most brutal drama films never seen before, that shows the terrible consequences of a loveless marriage and a secret affair, always with tragic results, a piece of british cinema unique, with a style that make a very deep impact in the soul, although not with a precisely happy ending.
This is so much better than what the trailer made it out to be. Truly captivating, especially towards the ending. Loved it.
Having seen and loved the film, that is a bloody brilliant trailer. Pugh is her generation's Streep.
I’m Russian (am growing up in America) and grew up with this version of Lady MacBeth - One of my favorite movies. Highly recommend!
My favourite performance from Florence Pugh.
For me, I think my favorite performance from her was her performance in Outlaw King.
This is a story on how ghosts are created. Absolutely magnificent.
This convinced me to watch it
Watched it today and loved it. The ending gave me goosebumps.
What a brilliantly wicked film! I hate that I just saw it a year and a half after this video is uploaded. The performances were outstanding across the board.
Happy to see Cosmo doing so well for himself! Can't wait to see this
Yo ho Sebastian, I wanna love you good 'cause we deserve much better than we've had
That poor cat feeling scared and confused :c
MASTERPIECE... ANY MORE LIKE THIS ONE! WOW!
The film is coming out July in the states. Beautiful cinematography and acting by just judging from the trailer, definitely will watch.
Saw movie over the weekend. Enjoyed it very much!
Cinematography is top class, the composition
i just saw the entire film
No you didn't. You will be shocked if you watch the actual movie.
This is amazing.
I saw this at Zurich Film Festival and it was absolutely stunning. The trailer does the film justice which I daresay is almost never the case. Go see it if you can!
they revealed too damn much
I know :( I"m pissed that I watched the trailer.
Yeah ! That really sucked !! Movies should really stop putting so much in their trailers. Do they actually expect people to see the movie after a trailer like this ?? We've seen & understood the whole damn thing !!
It's really annoying.... now we know literally everything. She falls in love with some young guy, they conspire to kill her husband together, and after he's dead she tries to live on in the house as if he's just away on business. It would have been so intriguing if all we saw was her being married to an abusive tyrant, and longing for freedom. Maybe a few shots of the young guy, as a possibility (but not even revealing their romance).... That's all we needed.

Wait...what? It's MacBeth.
The trailer does not give away the ending, Btw. I just finished watching it, it’s not super great, but it’s okay. The trailer is snippets, not in order and with no context of what actually was happening (from characters to plot bits). It’s interesting!
The ending truly got me in some type of rage... I like really like it
Finally! My favorite book is a movie 🎥!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Un film indimenticabile. Lo rivedrò sicuramente...
I loved this film, y’all should watch it.
thanks for uploading the whole movie xoxo
I wish this was on lady Macbeth in Shakespeare’s last Macbeth I would love her back story
A marvelous film. Excellent!
I am excited to see this and even more to read the book!
Watched it yesterday. I really liked the film, very interesting, not boring and very choking I though it was brillant
This movie is sooo good, I loved it so much.
I cant wait to watch this.
Sooooo excited!!!
Florence pugh is an incredible actress
Florence Pugh was sooooo good in this
This looks fantastic!
Florence’s Geordie accent in this was so convincing, I thought she was actually from Newcastle - amazing!!
She is beautiful!!
Ooh ooh oooh, I hope it's as good as it looks!
that was great i just saw the whole movie thanks for saving me a trip to the movies!
Yep,these trailers are so stupid. That was pretty much the whole plot.
Trust me, no where near the entire film. You'll be surprised. Some stuff in the trailer is even presented out of order.
No you're wrong!! Go watch it please, you'll enjoy it..
There is so much that wasn't shown here in the trailer..
Fabulous story.
👏👏👏
Very Smart and Stylish Cinematography
Looks really good!
This is a fabulous story
this looks magnificent
Amazing
Wow looks stunning
The film explores the evil the bubbles below the surface of empowerment gone awry. You want to root for the heroine but as the film goes on you are like, “Oh no, not like that.... oh no!”
It is a marvelous film all in all. Florence Pugh is absolutely captivating in the lead role.
We've seen this kind of story over and over. It never ends well for the lovers I'm more intrigued about what her husband is up to when he leaves her . Really want to know what is so Radical about it.
Naaaa.. this is a different one, you will be impressed by the end of the movie, it was absolutely perfect
Tsar can you explain the ending?
Cosmo Jarvis, Yes please!
This looks soooo good!
Florence Pugh’s greatest performance to date.
Florence was absolutely amazing in this! I don't get why she doesn't get praise for this, Outlaw King, Little Women or Fighting With My Family, all of which kicks the hell out of Midsommar!
Im interesting to see what makes this film so "radical".
MoMo K because filming period pieces whilst maintaining a level of excitement is extremely difficult especially when there isn't any kind of war or battle involved. If a period piece can keep you glued in just by how well the story line and scenes are crafted it's very impressive. Plus this story was based off some famous play or something
Russian opera* my bad
Sergei transforming into and ugly mixed race called Sebastian, multiculturism + Gratuitous sex scenes + an 'empowered' female lead = Radical.
@MoMo K
It hates men. So liberal and progressive.
You just have to see the really fucked up ending. I got chills.
this is amazing
Trailer gives away too much. Yet it made me want to watch it. There's much more to it. Great film.
Yes Cosmo!
I am gonna watch this movie..!
Good movie. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
loved the opera, hope the movie is as good! !
Our May Queen!
wow. i really like it.
this looks friggin goood
Looks great
I'm not usually into period pieces, but given this looks like it could be a film adaptation of a Nick Cave song from his Murder Ballads album, I dig it.
Because of fighting with my family movie I've become a huge Florence fan..all about the Pugh.
COSMOOOOOO, so much love for that man.
Wow!
Looks good!
You have to admit, they got the Moors dead on there.
I...WILL... WATCH...THIS.
God, I love her
She is astonishing, reminds me of a young Kate Winslet.
This could be such a great film :D
The style of it totally reminds of The Witch. Anyways it looks good, I can't wait!! 😝
Florence Pugh is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
this look dope!
didnt the OLSEN SISTER do a movie like this in the same era? called in secrets?
I looked it up because I'd never heard of it before. Based on trailers for In Secret and Lady MacBeth, they do look like the same movie.
Kimnicpat yyerp. In secret was pretty good. I recommend it =)
yep i thought the same they look same
It's an adaptation of a novel by 19th Century author Nikolai Leskov.
Benjamin Rome Clarke thanks for the enlightenment =) distant cousin ( we have the same last name)
First rule of Film Trailers. Never give away the entire story.
2:04, they were right lmaoo
She reminds me of Kate Winslet
Jada Esprit OMG that is exactly what I thought !
@@Bhabna10 wow... Same thing
No way
owwww thrilling
Best film
Remember reading this story as a part of my literature program. This is quite interesting classic russian novel. Hated Catherine so much tho...
...because you're a man..a poorly written one
@@fenecofeneco19 Well, I'm a woman.
@@alishag1662 I read this novel a long time ago, and I'm not sure how I would react to this character right now, especially in the movie - I've never seen it, but I guess this adaptation shows better version of Cath than it was in the original. I guess that killing a child because of the inheritance didn't sell such character as a lovable one to me back then:D
yesterday's mush with last week's gravy. a flick about the Bard's Lady Macbeth (her pre-marriage days and revelation of what turned her so venomous) would be QUITE welcome!
I got the feeling this trailer just spiole me the whole movie
looks good
This is honestly such a good movie though
I watched it and I was surprised by the good plot.
I watched this and it was really good
o it's bleeding grim up north and they can keep it
This movie was wild....
You tube sube esta peli completa en latino por favor es muy buena
