  • This is it ladies and gents, the Honda that you've all been waiting for, the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V.
    The HR-V enjoyed mega success in Malaysia as it checks all the needs of a typical household - spacious, practical, compact size and attractively priced. This new HR-V builds upon those qualities and added flair, tech, and excitement.
    Having sampled the all-new HR-V in Phuket, Thailand, covering over 500 km over 2 days, we can confidently say that Honda has really upped the ante with the HR-V. Proving that family cars don't need to be boring.
    Sampled here is the range-topping model available in Thailand, the 1.5 e:HEV RS variant. While it does not reflect the specifications for Malaysia market but it gives us a taste of what to expect from the HR-V when it makes its market debut. We can say, this taste really, really sweet.

    It would be perfect if the new HRV Honda sensing has BSM and RCTA (both to me are very useful and practical features), and a 360 degree camera....without these, not easy to dethrone Toyota Corolla Cross

    • @chupoposama
      @chupoposama 2 года назад +4

      Oh, no BSM and RCTA? I thought these are standard active safety equipment these days. I test drove the Cross Hybrid, the low definition 360 degree camera and lack of e-parking brake is kinda of a let down for a car priced nearly RM140k. Will wait eagerly for the new HRV top spec to compare before making the decision.

    • @toongpengleong6038
      @toongpengleong6038 2 года назад +2

      @@chupoposama Ya, I thought the so called complete suite of Honda Sensing features would include these, but sadly, no. These are not available even in the top RS e-HEV variant. There is that Lane Watch camera at the left passenger wing mirror but no left-right BSM and RCTA. But it has an electronic parking brake though.

    • @emilylimsl9884
      @emilylimsl9884 2 года назад +5

      360 camera is really needed when comes to parking. Especially, BSM and RCTA is also needed as both safety systems including 360 camera are the most important safety features. Without those, it is not worth to buy. Actually, footbrake is better and more durable than electronic parking brake

    I went to the pre-show showroom today to look at it, i'm dissapointed with the raised middle rear seat and also the backrest for rear middle seat. It is very uncomfortable for middle passenger on rear seat. The middle seat has raised, and quite hard seat. I'm very suprised NONE of the reviewers ever mentioned this. I can guarantee that the middle passenger will not be enjoying long distance drive at all. The back seat was made to mimic bucket seat, so only 2 rear passengers will be comfortable. It is such a dealbreaker for me as i had booked this and had to cancel the booking. Also just a note there will not be any sunroof for malaysia

    The rear bench could've been positioned a little bit forward to free up boot space. No many people need that kind of leg room.

    • @incisor78
      @incisor78 2 года назад

      I always prefer more rear space than boot space. But in this case you are right. 4 tennis balls is overkill. That is like S-class rear legroom. Not sure why manufacturers don't make rear seats that are able to slide front and back to increase versatility between boot space or rear legroom. The jazz can reclline an inch or so. They should have also moved the seats lower by an inch too to increase the headroom.

    The design is great but Honda cars assembled locally in Malaysia are well known to have poor NVH and rattling sound even after less than 1 year of use. This is prevalent in the upmarket models which include Cuvic and Accord. Unfortunate but the vehicles still sell due to the brand name. Thanks Adrian. Good review. Features to bring in?... Well please tell them to bring in the panoramic roof. At least on the rs variant. It elevates the driving experience exclusiveness and makes it airy and spacious. After all, there many good uv and heat protection tints nowadays, if heat is the issue

    Nooo its not even claustrophobic at all in this car...why would you thin so? I mean you know toyota chr is the real claustrophobic right...having a dark roof in a car s actually a very good thing as it looks very sporty and it feels very very good, as long as the windows are not as small as toyota chr..this is how you should justify adrian..always set ur mindset in a very neutral way when you review a car ya.
