I never fully understood this song until I got out of my deep depression. My life of cutting. But I am so grateful that this song exists to spread awareness of the problem and the solution of a perfect God. Thank you for the song and the lives it has impacted. God bless you Skillet! Your songs have helped me through a lot
This song always gives me chills. I was that kid. The cutter, the depressed kid, the bullied one and suicidal. I'm about 5-6 months clean of cutting and haven't tried to kill myself since the 7th grade. I met John at Winter Jam, and told him this song help me through so much

Thank God for this song! It helped me when i was strongly tempted to cut but like there was an invisible force stopping me, i will alwayse remember this song, and my favorite part is how its God talking to me through it meeting me where I am. Its just what i needed to hear.❤
I had a friend on a Minecraft server I play on who was contemplating suicide. I recommended this song to him and well he's still around so I guess it helped maybe.

Many people I have spoken to have gone through this sort of thing. They came to me and I did what I could to help hem out. I went out of my way to do so. Heard the story & song tonight at LifeLight. I am not one to show my emotions in the crowd, but the moment I came home & just cried. I liked when John said, that some need Rest, and some just need Peace. I feel I need both.
I needed this so much! I have felt exactly like this, I still do. I struggle with my faith I have felt to alone having to fight on my own. I put up these walls that I’m afraid to take down, I don’t want to because I know I’m protecting my self. I have been down so many dark dark paths in my life, and this, this here is what I struggle to face everyday.

I became self-destructive when I was in 7th grade. I've lived with depression for 30 years. I've been self-destructive a little less than 30 years. I get that question, "aren't you tired of it?" They have no idea, but it's not a light switch you can turn on and off. Being sexually abused as a child, I heard a lot of guilt that lived with me the last 30 years. I told myself I would never cut. I didn't want the scars. Sadly, I have a story with every scar....43 cuts combined from arms to wrist. I've been a Christian all my life. But when your own family hates you, you think God does too. It's hard, is really really hard. I do a lot of writing. I documented all my cuts. I made a video using this song. Depression is real and you can't just snap your fingers and then you're all better, sadly.

My friend showed me this song because I wastent eating one day and i was wearing long sleves and it was 90 degrees out side and she rolled up my sleve and saw the damage I did to myself so thank u skillet for the last night

She wasn't swearing at them even if you are christian you still swear. I do but I am still christian we are all human no ones perfect so don't get on someone's case for swearing. Yes there are better words that could be used but she choose not too
