Chris, love your reviews ! I found you and subscribed to you since you first tested the 23 28i ! I cannot understand why not more people have subscribed to your channel! I really don't! Aloha from Hawaii \uuu/
@@donmiller6839 I’m really enjoying driving it. We also have a 23 740i, but the X1 is a little sports car. I drive it exclusively in Sport mode. The i9 drive has some improvements over the i8 which is in my 740i, however, over all I prefer thei8 computer. It’s faster and the start up time is much quicker. Paid close to 60 out the door. Although I traded in a 2017 suburban. Enjoy it if you get it. Oh,the interior is really nice. Got the red accent seats. Very comfortable. Godspeed 312 HP !
There is ZERO comparison from MB or Audi in the entry level. This vehicle easily can handle with GLC and Q5 .. sorry but a fact. It is a much larger and well thought out product. Serious home-run and fantastic performer .. bravo BMW !
CaliBud, All nice MB’s but the X1 M35i has turned into a grownup. The A & B classes have always been small and never a high luxury entry. In fact, the GLA started as a Renault / Nissan. Just look at the parts underneath. I still believe the NEW X1 easily matches the GLC and Q5. Just my opinion ..
hello I want to buy an x1 m35i and I wanted to know more about the exhaust. I have seen your videos but there is not one where you film with the window open so that we can clearly hear the noise of the exhaust. I wanted to know if it really makes noise and at what level with and without the window open.
What your hearing is the iconic sounds with bmw the enhanced exhaust sound in the cabin. Windows open was ok with burps/ farts on the upshift with very minimal burbles. I did have an exhaust mix connected but the sound wasn’t heard that well on the outside.
Put aside cosmetics and quad tailpipes and what do you get beyond the standard X1 for an additional $10-$15K. About a second faster and a stiffer ride useful for carving corners. But what do you give up? Ride in the M35i is bumpier, noisier, no spare tire, poorer mileage. Lurch and lag from starts is the same. So the question of which to buy boils down to whether you want to spend the extra cash for a a bit of performance you’ll rarely use at the expense of less comfort, no spare, and poorer mileage.
The x4 m40i has a longer wheelbase aiding in a better rode quality. Both being M performance models the ride is definitely more aggressive than a stick version but not stiff like a M
Shoutout the BMW Fairfax for having as always this any many interesting BMWs are for sale!!
I can confirm! This vehicle is a lot of fun

Nice to see BMW not following the trend of rpm sublimiters

AMG A35, AMG GLB35 AMG GLA35 all are very compatible with this great vehicle 👍 AMG GLB35 would be the closest with the right specs

Not for slalom for sure
Incredible review
Thank you
Красивая тачка 👍🏻
How does the car handle? I drove the regular X1 and felt the steering was way too loose
More planted than the standard version but a RWD platform like X3 handles better

Oh okaay I see. I like exhaust sound and i was wondering if this one make enough noise from the exhaust and not iconic sounds. Thanks

You basically answered the question all of which is true for added performance of that specific trim
Yeah, ride quality was awful when i test drove. Felt rather cheap to boot. Too tall for the twisties.
You drive a Mazda 😶
How did you find the ride over the bumps? Is it more comfortable than the x4 m40i?

Doesn’t the 2024 M35i come with idrive 9? Instead of 8.5
Yes, small error as the idrive 9 does have an android based system while the 8.5 uses a Linux version used in the 5 series.
It comes with idrive 8.5
No it comes whit os 9
Does the exhaust make noise when the window open ?
Yeah it has burbles on the upshift originally had a exhaust microphone connected but the sound was ok
Does the boost downshift paddle add more horsepower or just hold the revs?
Agressive downshifting for holding rev
Its os 9 and not 8.5
