Hi Roger, I hope Hannah will be alright and will go thru her intervention with no problems as well as your orchid friend. So nice of you to drop off the plant to the young orchid grower Jamie and visit his orchids collection, he must be so happy after your visit :) Nice haircut and coffee mug, hey I now have a coffee mug just like yours :)
Great video as usual Mentor! You always say you've been around for a while! Someone talked about you have 20 years + experience! Around our orchids hobby !!! Now we understand why your knowledge is so amazing! Thank you for sharing your great knowledge with us your students!
Good luck to Hannah for the surgery. Sorry to hear about your orchid friend... Inspiring bedroom tour! I wish you had some footage!! Thanks for sharing
Sending Blessings for Hannah. She cut your hair! I'm sorry to hear about the chairman. How exciting, delivering an orchid and meeting the person. You are downsizing a lot! Good Luck with quitting smoking. Friend caught a cold when she quit. It's hard but yes, can be done.
Hi Roger, just wanted to extend my best wishes and speedy recovery to Hannah and her upcoming surgery. Its always a worry as a parent, but I’m sure it will go well! Also good luck with quitting smoking,I’ve tried a few times to no avail but I think it’s true that when the time is right,it’s easier! So good on you!
Thank you for showing the Encyclia. Mine is just two healthy bulbs in a small clay pot with organic medium. This is, I assume, just a seedling size. I am hopeful that it will grow more bulbs this year. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with Hanna. Hoping for the best with her upcoming surgery planning.
Good luck with the smoking Roger! It’s very difficult but if you’re ready it is definitely time. Thanks for the plant updates and I hope your daughters pacemaker stuff goes well and safely too. Happy growing!
My fingers are crossed for you in attempt in quitting smoking. I feel that you do well as you can go for long periods of time of not smoking. My prayers are for Hannah in her health. Also enjoy your hobby in orchids as you will be keeping the ones that you really want. That is really what we want in the end because then you really enjoy them.
Hi Roger, best wishes for Hannah's upcoming surgery, whatever version it is. Best wishes as well for the head of the orchid society with the cancer diagnosis. I think it is great that you have decided to quit smoking soon. I am sure you can do it since you said you did it before. Nice haircut Hannah gave you. Another great Sunday chat!
Hi Roger, Could you please do a short talk about the Spanish moss, what you use it for, and how you keep it healthy and growing? Thanks. Love your channel.
best of luck with Hannah and her operation. also good on you for trying to give up ciggies they really are not good for you. Been proved by doctors good luck
Hi Roger, another great chat... Thank you 😊. Good luck with the no smoking... You can do this! I completely get the finishing off the existing tobacco.... Smoking is definitely just a habit! It's a case of changing the way you think and changing those habits! Keeping busy is key! Best wishes to Hannah and I'm sure all will go well although I completely understand your concerns! I hope your orchid society friend makes it to the meeting but I'm so sorry to hear that it's sad news. Cancer is an evil disease and every single person is affected in one way or another by it at some point. As you said though, there are so many medical advances.... the future could be brighter and a cure could be found at any time. Let's hope its soon!!
Best wishes to Hannah and I hope she gets properly sorted. Good luck to you in giving up the coffin nails. I never got really into it so when my girlfriend said she didn't like the taste of my breath it wasn't hard. I got into motorcycles, though, so I've probably spent at least as much over the years! Just lashed out on a new Kawasaki that we're loving and plan several tours on it this year.
Sorry to hear about your chairman. I hope he will get better! Also your hair cut looks great Roger! But I’ll take my orchid master with short OR long hair! Good luck with quitting! And I hope Hannah’s surgery is quick and easy!
Wow your cordigera is very impressive!, even with a few brown PBs. I bought one last spring and I was super disappointed when the largest PB didn't bloom. I split the plant and I've realized looking at yours it will need years before it is tight in the pot to bloom. It must be because your greenhouse provides lots of humidity, but my miltoniopisis are in sphagnum moss and they prefer to be wet all the time and the roots just don't seem to mind, even in the cool of winter. I'm growing in my livingroom...so maybe they appreciate that extra humidity. Loving that anceps. I MUST GET ONE THIS YEAR!
Hope all goes well with Hannah and her path forward. Sorry to hear about your Orchid Society Chairman prognosis. The haircut looks great on you :) Best of luck with quitting smoking, you seem to have a really good attitude about it so hopefully it will be an easy transition for you!
Love the Monty Python reference! Hope you recruited Jamie to join his local society! Plant societies need all the younger members they can get - they are 'dying on the vine'.
Hi Roger, good decision to stop smoking. I stopped 5 years ago. Shortly after my hubby did the same. None of our friens smoke anymore. The only time i miss it abit, is after a good meal in good company.
You look right spiffy Roger! The whole world is in need of miracles.......all I can offer is healing thoughts and high hopes for Hannah, your chairman, and the people involved in their surgery and recovery🌈. Hoping you manage to stick to your resolve as well.... I must say I have always thought it silly that the only people who get to "step outside" are smokers (mainly in job situations), anyone and everyone should "break" for a breath of fresh air.....maybe with a page from a book or a bacon roll in tow.
Lol, that must have sounded silly like I worked in a sweatshop or something! What I mean is that smokers always ended up with twice as much time as non-smokers, especially since "management" was usually a smoker and rightly so 😂😅
At one place I worked, the non-smokers rebelled and demanded time off from their work so they could take some air or just chill in the rest room with a coffee.
Congratulations on the lighter head! Thinking about Hannah and her upcoming medical situation. I get what you're saying about not feeling as addicted to cigarettes. I smoked (off and on) for over half my life, but I was a light smoker with good boundaries. I did not smoke in the mornings, and I didn't smoke at work. But when I got off work, the first thing I did was light up; then I smoked into the evening. I quit smoking in 2012, and I'm glad I did. I do miss it sometimes, but I'm still satisfied being a non smoker. Like you, I would have to dislocate some arms if someone tried to take my coffee. hahahahhaa
Good luck for the smoke, I ve transitioned to vaping, helped me a lot, but I was quite dependent.. Don't underestimate the power of habits connected to the action of smoking a sigarette (strong taste, in your case > fresh air)
Best wishes on your goal on stop smoking. I never had that desire, but found food as my crutch. Now losing weight for over a year with 120 pounds gone with 90 pounds more to lose.
Great to hear you had a great weekend, good info on finding info on orchids that are hard to get any information. Nice hair cut. Have a great week and see you tomorrow in the same place. :)
Nice barber job. Hope you tipped them for doing a good job. Rather enjoyed the chat. I saw the mistake that caused the problem. You said you almost buried the old pseudobulb when you potted it. it had no airflow so began to rot. The rest looks spot on. I do believe it will be fine since you removed problem bulbs.
You're blessed to have such a great relationship with your daughter! Love the job she did on your hair 👏 . If shes having surgery in the near future I wish her the best of luck. Maybe we'll get to meet her sometime 😊
Firstly my best wishes for Hannah, hope she will go through the medical intervention with most success and least suffering if possible. She should follow your example and quit smoking as well but I suppose that is a decision that must come from the innerself, if that is the right way to put it. Nice hair cut by the way 👍, Hannah is quite talented and she did a good job. Something I have been meaning to say, your Cymbidium is gorgeous, I like the colours and the rounded shape of the petals. And look how long it has been blooming. That is one of the reasons why I am so fond of them, they bloom profusely and the blooms last for ages...And their care is so easy, no workload... Thanks Roger, your videos and good advices are well appreciated. Have a great week.
Nice haircut! 👍 PS best wishes for your daughter’s surgery PPS. Keep us posted on your non smoking adventure. Maybe it will help with the motivation when your fans are cheering for you to quit!
Good luck on quitting! I totally get what you are saying. I smoked about 11-12 years ago... my case was: I was working super busy restaurant, I was too busy to go out and smoke till lunch break (about 2:30 pm) meaning, no cigarettes for about 6 hours. I was not heavy smoker but it was long enough then. When I smoked, it tasted super good, thinking I wouldn’t ever taste this good cigarette ever again.... and that was it! Weird but true story!
I agree with the titles or tags/metadata. I was looking for a particular orchid you discussed and I liked the look of the plant. I wanted to check if I had it. I knew you had mentioned it in the recent rescue series but couldn’t remember if it was in the potted or mounted group. Turns out I have den harveyanum though mine doesn’t have the spindle shape yours has but mine is “recovering” All that to say, it may be a bit more work for you but I think it will really pay off in increased views. Congrats on your decision to divorce tobacco. My eyes went wide when you wiggled your mug. I thought no way is he giving up coffee! Lol #brokenarm
I was a heavy smoker for 13 years. 20-40 cigarettes a day. 80 if our for drinks. Gave up two years ago and would not look back. I left one cigarette from my last pack just in case I really need one and to morally prevent myself from buying whole new pack. Still have it ;) Good luck!
Roger; If you like the Latourias, have you ever tried the spectabile? On the whole, my Latourias don't do well, but spectabile grows like a (BIG) weed. It looks and grows (to me) more like a very large Den phal. Mine has just put out it's first spike. I'm looking forward to seeing those "alien" flowers!
Hi Roger I like the new look, I need your help, 8 orchid when under the hedges, today I can see my other orchids don’t look quite right, new growth are starting to push the bottom of the pots, l got very excited about it, they have survived, I watched someone video saying it’s time to start feeding them with Epson-salts, I put a pinch in my water, only the once, but over the week I have watched my orchid start to go down hill, some of the leaves are starting to turn yellow, some have fallen off, the other orchids there leaves looks as if they are a bit limp, , have I poisoned them? 3 Neofineta they look great I picked them up to check if they need a spray , all there leaves dropped off they looked so good, l could of cried, can you remember the dancinglady Twinkle and the other 2 all in spike, well they didn’t go well, they were potted in some heavy stuff, I left them in it until the flower have failed, I reported the Twinkle and it fell apart, it happened to all of them, I repotted all the bits in medium bark, because most of my plants are seeding I didn’t have tags for them, on one plant there was big pseudobulb with I strong new growth coming up the side, the top of pseudobulb was going soft, I cut the top of sprayed it then put common on it, do you think the new growth stands a chance? After you have read this comment you will start smoking big time, Speak soon
your head looks 2 pounds lighter..:P you know what should be fun?? a sunday chat from Hanna..:D best wishes for Hanna, hope it will be the easy option.. i used nicotine bandages with very good result..:) maybe do a vid about fertilizers..:P

I would say that the cordigera needs at least 3-4 years worth of growths before it blooms (including those you already have).
Good luck with the smoking Roger! It’s very difficult but if you’re ready it is definitely time. Thanks for the plant updates and I hope your daughters pacemaker stuff goes well and safely too. Happy growing!

I drink a LOT of coffee but I now mix in de-caf half-n-half so same number of cups but half the caffeine.
I wish you luck with quitting smoking, it;s a great thing to do for your health
Thanks.
Good for you for trying to quit! I myself quit August of 18. You can do it, I have faith in you!

That's odd - a single dose should not have that effect unless it was 'super-strong'?
🌼🌼's for Hannah
Can Hannah recover with you? Sorry to hear about your chairmans’ prognosis.
She may spend some more time with me but she has her own two cats to look after and doesn't like leaving them too long.
Good on you. You can do it. Tell Hannah no both do it together
She is thinking about it.
Is it possible to grow a Encyclia cordigera from a 2 bulb cutting
Yes but it will take quite a long time to get to blooming size.
Wheres Roger?
your head looks 2 pounds lighter..:P
you know what should be fun?? a sunday chat from Hanna..:D
best wishes for Hanna, hope it will be the easy option..
i used nicotine bandages with very good result..:)
maybe do a vid about fertilizers..:P
Now-a-days, a vid about fertilisers would be almost the same as Ynse's as we use a very similar feeding schedule.
@@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai it whas a bit sarcastic..:D
Great luck in your quitting efforts
Thanks.
Can i drop you a mail including the photos of my orchids here in India at Mysore, my very small collection i meant?
Yes - but why don't you join the Facebook group, it's a better place for photos and then more people can see them.
Sure sir..
I have dropped you a request sir and waiting for your approval to join.
No body wants the Nocturnum ? shove it in the box 😁
Will do.
