Protesters in Atlanta held a week of action to stop the construction of the massive $90 million police training complex known as "Cop City" in the Weelaunee Forest. This comes as activists have been organizing for a citywide referendum on the project which officials have tied up in court. Meanwhile, 61 people facing RICO, or racketeering, and domestic terrorism charges appeared in court this month as the state tries to characterize them as "militant anarchists." We get an update from Kamau Franklin, founder of the Atlanta-based grassroots organizing collective Community Movement Builders, who describes Atlanta's repression of peaceful civil disobedience as part of an effort "to protect cops and capitalism." We also feature excerpts from Al Jazeera's new Fault Lines documentary on the "Stop Cop City" movement and speak with correspondent Sharif Abdel Kouddous, who calls the mass charges against protesters "unprecedented."

I used to dismiss my paranoid friend or two when they said we live in a police state, but now I see that they were 100% correct.

It's to train a lot of police. Basically a literal city of cops to ship out across the country after training with tons of equipment, for military like type of training which is not to serve and protect. It's a very evil big plan. It's using taxes to build this city. I believe housing and everything you would need in a small base or city.
What happened to Tortuguita is the type of training they plan on teaching police. A step towards a police state/militarized police. All verifiable and this has been going on for about a year +. Not reported on Corp News. Maybe a blip but Democracy Now has covered it.

It's the government's response to the BLM protests in Atlanta, and Atlanta has a large black population. They want to adopt IDF military techniques against Palestinians against their own people.
I'm going to guess that if they are successful in deploying this training center, most likely more will pop up in other cities as well.

Tortuguita was in a hammock asleep when he was murdered. The first barrage of shots made him fall out of the hammock. The brief pause in firing was Tort raising both his arms, turning to face the officers, and pleading for his life from his knees.
In response, they opened fire again. Of course the witnesses are being labeled terrorists.

As I listened to this I had to look up cop city because I still couldn’t believe this is happening in our “democracy” I know with the that declining democracy in our country I should not be surprised anymore. Being a senior citizen in our country my start of peaceful protests to save our environment and peace would wide I will be leaving two young adult children and a couple of Grandchildren behind when my time comes and I know I am not alone with concerns of what many of us fought for our whole lives being wiped out heading backwards soo fast I can’t breath.

Anyone interested in learning more about how Israel and the IDF export their surveillance technologies and military technologies (of which they develop and fine-tune on Palestinians, especially Palestinians in Gaza) for law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the US and tons of countries to buy internationally, should really check out the book “The Palestine Laboratory” by Antony Lowenstein. He’s spoken about it on this channel before and it’s very relevant to this project trying to force through this “cop city” project in Atlanta, as well as a major reason why many governments of western countries unequivocally support Israel, and have for years now.
I don't know the full story of the massacres of the indigenous people of Georgia or if any of those massacres occured on this particular land. All I know is that if Cop City is being built on or near a site, they'd better to be ready to face a battle that their guns can not fight. Those who died in Georgia are or were a powerful tribe and they are not resting in peace, will not rest, until their descendants get justice and their slaughter recognized. Nothing should be built on that land that doesn't foster peace and tranquility and certainly nothing that fosters more violence. May God be with all who are fighting this good fight. Warrior on brothers and sisters, warrior on. "Be sharp as serpents, yet innocent as doves".
