Your will get fired if you are rude to customers. They rather lose you than a customer. They believe that if you are rude to a customer you not only lose that customer, but that customer will tell their friends, family, coworkers etc and they may lose other potential customers if they have a reputation for bad customer service.

You forget how you dey enjoy CONSTANT electricity. No generator, no NEPA!!!! My children were in Nigeria for 2 years when they were young. They were so used to joining the others and saying “up NEPA “ when they bring light. So when they came back to America and light went off due to a storm. Immediately the light came back on they shouted “up NEPA !!!!! We laughed eh. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Neze, well said with your special injection of humour, you have covered all of the new and different culture shocks that may be the same for new immigrants from Developing countries. We recycle here but no where near what's done in 🍁. We must have our own cloth shopping bags (bought at stores or custom made) or put grocery in cartonboxes but zero use of black plastic bags. I visited Quebec in the winter my first time in 🍁 and that was similar to your experiences (lovely sunshine with birds and squirrels hopping around fooled me on a cold winter's day. My ears felt so frozen I still recall today). I hooked up with friends in Toronto and weather was milder. There I learned to party during winter going clubbing with friends - just have to dress in warm clothes. When I migrated, I lived in Toronto. Politeness, no smoking indoors, wearing of strong perfumes, avoiding eating peanut butter for snacks at work or schools as other co-workers or children may go into shocks; cleanliness in public spaces is normal; beautifully maintained gardens and walk paths, etc. I love the cooler months (not summer) as you get to dress up like crazy in nice, professional clothes depending on your job (I learned to shop end of season for really expensive pieces as sales are the norm). Yes the cashierless checkouts shocked me a few years ago as I go back and forth for several years now but banks are never crowded as in 🇯🇲 and government services are fully automated and available in multiple languages; appointments at doctors office a bonus as I am yet to get used to Walkin offices here where I sit and waste my time with no indication of when I will get through. Covid-19 made appointments mandatory for several businesses here but our medical professionals were always accessible for walkins or appointments. I like how you embrace changes. Continue to enjoy. Extra hour is Daylight Saving Time (DST) and in Canada it is taken off late Fall thru Winter as days are darker early and for about 8 months daylight maybe 14 hours. We don't have snow at all in 🇯🇲 our tropical paradise but this time of year (almost end of hurricane season) but it gets dark here by 5:30 pm until 5:30 am for next 3 months or so. In Alberta, you are 2 hours behind Toronto (I think) and same for 🇯🇲 where we do not do Daylight Saving Time anymore for decades. Alberta is like living in another country but like you said a few vlogs in the past, the land mass is vast. You may not see your relative except once a year if they live in the next city. All the best. You shine and radiate positivity 💯%

Neze, there's one culture shock you need to know. Their love for trees. I don't know if it's same in Canada as here in US. We had a special program in church and we were divided into groups to share paper posters in the neighborhood, we had an American in our group, so we suggested nailing one of the posters to a tree by the sidewalk. The guy said " oh no, don't do that, you will be hurting the tree" . Hurt the tree? What? Back in Nigeria we nail posters on any tree at any time😂. We respected him and didn't do it but we laughed about it after he left. But we"ve learned they care for their environment more than where we came from.

Yes o, most of European countries and the continents, they do accept goods already used by customers after even months of using the products, I think the reason the they accept the returns is because of insurance covers it. This your vlog is a real eye opener. 😮😮😮, Kudos to you, girlfriend👏👏👏. Youre a real Brainer, 🤩🤩🤩🫅🫅🫅. We never expect less from you, LOL. I must say I’m enjoying relieving my newcomer days through your eyes. Regarding the nylon thing, it was either last year or early this year the law was passed that stores should no longer hand out bags in a bid to reduce the use of plastic. Most stores now saw it as an opportunity to make extra money. Some would give paper bags for free. The packing items shopped for you depends on the stores. Some do and some don’t. With the weather, you should come to the capital city. We’ve had snow, rain, hail, sun, and ice on the same day. One fact though I’ve learnt, in winter the day that the sun is the shiniest is the day to cover yourself the most cos the cold that day will almost kill you.

The pet love confused me too oooh Chai🤣 I remember working in a hotel and people came late at night and asked if we had any room available, they lived in an other city and had brought their dog to the vet near the hotel because he is the best in our state. The dog was operated and was taking long in the recovery room so they were told to go home and come back the next day. Since they couldn’t drive all the way home and come back the next day, they had to take a hotel room nearby.
All the time they were explaining this to me i was like😳😳 is it my hearing having issues?

My sister, truth be told. What you're saying is perfect. People here are pleasant, unlike Naija. We have awful behavior. Nasty ajibo character that leads nowhere.

In this U.S, it's only in 2 stores I've been to that the customers have to pack their groceries themselves. It annoys me because some of those bags are hard to open. Especially the bags at El Super😫
