YO! The purple wheel! Dope! Where did you find this thing? Don't even tell me, it's fine, I prefer the mystery. Fun sesh. This is right up my alley. Albeit I'm usually experimenting with interesting and experimental plugins.
A lot of plug-ins can do what this does & way more. At it's core, it's just a looper with some effects. But the buttons make it fun to interact with and experiment.
It's not for me, in general, but even if it was - the lack of volume control would be a dealbreaker. Glad you enjoy playing it, tho! Gear should be fun.
I hear you. So far, I've experienced a lot of unnecessary limitations with it. It's not designed for serious stuff...but for just sound design and exploring, i really like it.
Nice to see the workflow in real time. Its an interesting device for sure. Tape style layering and resampling upon itself seems like a good tool to have in the arsenal. Was the key click in the sample from using the onboard mic or just something in the process ?
The onboard mic picks up key clicks, so i sampled that sound a few times to make drum sounds. Intentionally using it's limitations. And yes, the tape looper is really fun. Especially for making samples to resample into another machine for proper sequencing.
@@eddieleonard6925 The album is Dwight Spitz by Count Bass D, not sure if you remember him, he was on Potholderz with DOOM, well DOOM is on a couple of the tracks too. The track Antemeridian reminds me of you :)
In my mpc, I usually do 2 bar, 4 bar, or 8 bars, depending on the song. With this sampler, I think I made a 4 bar loop, but there's no timing or metronome on the chompi, so loops can be however long you set them, and you keep overdubbing.
Yes, the internal mic picks up the keyboard clicks...annoying...so what i did was sample those clicks into a drum program. Most of that drum loop is the sound of my fingers tapping the keys. For proper sampling, I've been using the line-in.
Sounds superb! Great music & visuals on your channel, glad I came across it.
thanks for checking this out.
Magic. Thank you for sharing Eddie.
It's a fun little sampler.
Eddie going at it on the chompi! I did not see that one coming. Great stuff as always man!
Surprised me, too! Honestly, I'm gonna use this to get new textures and variations into my beats. It's a fun little device.
Feels like the Volkswagen Beetle of Samplers...beautiful machine.
haha...it's added an element of fun & freedom to making music.
I love machines like this that let you free up and commit to having fun 🎉
there is some magic to be made with chompi
a lot of people are hating on it, but i like the sounds you can get from it. im gonna pair it with my mpc to get new textures in these beats.
You’ve got a gift for layering samples.
layering and mixing is my favorite part of the process. :)

this thing is interesting. in the right hands, it can make magic

For the asking price, you'd thibk they'd give you more works than quirks. $600 to explore is a bit wild.

Thanks!!!

What’s the name of the hardware you use in right now man I will like to get one of them I never saw that before
yo eddie are you a fan of the Dwight Spitz album, idk why but your energy reminds me of that album, have a good day
I vaguely remember that guy. I need to look up his music again. Which album in particular?

haha. that's intentional tho
Hi, I have a question - Do you usually use sequences in 4 bars each or like 2 or 8?

@@eddieleonard6925 Thanks that really helps
What’s the name of this sampler ?🤓
it's called Chompi
@@eddieleonard6925 Thanks, now because of you i have a new piece to daydream about. LOL
Why is the sampler recording the keyboard clicks? It completely ruins all of the stuff you are doing. Dope track, bro, but they are bugging
