- Chelsea players 23/24 tier list. With Pochettino no longer the Chelsea manager, in this video, I reflect on Pochettino's only season as Chelsea manager and rank the players from best to worst for the 23/24 season. Chelsea finished 6th in the Premier League, reached a Carabao Cup final and FA Cup semi final... was this a successful season? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Top Class for Chalobah is a little generous lol, he had a Good Season. Nobody who's injured for 80% of it can be Top Class

The list is SPOT ON. I would say Sanchez belongs in disappointing considering the fee paid, but not much difference
In all honest opinion, didn’t expect anything from him, he was purely in a deal as a sweetener to get Caiceido. Back up at best imo.

I agree with the chalobah thing, missed all season so his ranking is biased, but Enzo definitely belongs in disappointing, easiest one to rank imo

I feel bad for Mudryk being down there at the bottom...I feel like a lot of it isn't really his fault. When I watch him, the guy is running all over and doing his best to try to make himself available for passes...but so often, they just turn their back to him and pass it down the right side. You have the issue of Poch not having any consistency in playing him or not. And then the issue of him often times not having the time or space on the left side due to Cucu or Chilly banging up the left side making his runs redundant. It's gotta be frustrating for him.
They ignore him and don't use the way he should be used
And also the point that he only has 2 assists, while he should have much more. Unfortunately, Jackson doesn't convert his chances
@@user-io6di2wv8i To be a little fair to Jackson, a LOT of them didn't convert solid chances this year, aside from maybe Palmer.
He does it to himself. His workrate off the ball for someone so quick and in shape is horrendous. His confidence is shot, but I think that is to do with his own skill as well. Some of the cuts inside and flicks don't work in the EPL.
He can have world class moments of cutting through defences, but he is far too inconsistent with his touches.
Because he makes himself so unavailable on the pitch, when he does get the ball, he tries to do too much. Whoever is the manager next needs to tell him to simplify the game. Poch actually did that in the last 3 or 4 games he played in. Looked better, just needed to get more involved.
Mudryk odds not EPL class
Glad you put Caicedo in Top Class, mentioned many times during season when our performances were awful, i felt the setup was wrong leaving him isolated. Enzo/Gallagher playing too advanced. Soon as a defensive #6 deep pivot used we improved. Hope next Manager understands this. We can have Haaland up front but without a defensive shield in front of CBs we look exposed
Spot on apart from Sanches (should be Disappointing), Chalobah(should be good season), and Enzo(should be average)
To be fair with Enzo, if you see his compilations there are easily 10-15 passes he made that SHOULD have been goals. It's not only the hernia, If the team would have clicked earlier in the season I'm sure he would have had at least double assists.
Gallagher also should have higher assist be he don't cause Jackson can't finish. You should also watch his defensive attributes 😂😂 not good enough
Enzo has definitely been disappointing in some aspects, and some games clearly worse than others, but you're right - the guy pings fantasic through balls every game that we mostly squander because all our front line are dribblers that like to take players on - rather than off-ball movers. Even Palmer, who had an outstanding player, creates off the dribble rather than runs onto through balls. Whilst we improved in the last 3rd, we were still largely ineffective in front of goal but Poch's direct style got us a lot more chances as we closed out the season. Enzo would've got a lot more assists had we got an attacker great off the ball. Hell, even somebody like Timo Werner would've thrived off Enzo more than our current front line.
The game isn't played on RUclips compilations! Enzo isn't fit for the premier league in my opinion. I think he should be given a chance to work his way back into the team because we clearly have a system that's working. However he cannot cannot cannot just walk back into the team - done nothing to deserve it

@@thejam-1041 no it isn’t played on RUclips compilations. You can watch the games with your own eyes and see the numerous times our misfiring forwards have robbed him of piss easy assists. Anyone saying he “isn’t fit for the pl” I just instantly assume they’re trolling or plain stupid.

Enzo in disappointing is actually a disgrace. Knowing what he was dealing with, a hernia for 8 months, playing as a 10 and still getting 10 g/a is ABSOLUTELY not disappointing. He's was good this season and its not even 1/10 of his best. Which is scary
The fact we’re letting Silva (I know it’s time for him to leave but still) and Chalobah leave, and keeping Badashile and Disasi is absolutely mind boggling
How is Noni with 8 goals and 3 assist good. But mudryk with almost same output disappointing? At least give him average. Same for Enzo.

Chelsea absolutely cannot sell Gallagher! Chelsea is not a club that sell their best players unless they really want to go. I can only remember selling two top players, and they were both sold to Real Madrid... That money needs to be found elsewhere.

Cucurella having a good season. Guy is so weak in defence its insane. When i see him defending, especially during free kicks and corners I just pray to god the ball does not come anywhere near him because you know he cant defend to save his own life

Though to see James down there is really awkward to me but for the injuries I understand cos James is supposed to be world-class not just top class. My love for Mudryk so strong cos I know he's an asset and can play at the highest level - very dangerous player. But for now, I'll bear having them there, sighs!! For the averagely placed, i believe highly in Ugochuckwu nd of course nkunku. Ugochukwu has attributes I liken to our great Caicedo ❤. Love cucu now too. Jst heartbreaking to hear my darling Gallagher n Trev leaving. Insane. Shout-out to my kings at d top- very deserving
I think that Cucurela is going to be sold with Gallagher, we have to get that into our heads unfortunately.

Mudryk lacks a supplying left back
Mudryk dont even support on defending that why poch didn't like playing him. He doesn't track back. Can't just send both of your full back forward with a midfield that had Enzo in the middle

Too generous to Madueke. He was average. Gilchrist was average. Gallagher good nit top class. Chalobah good not top class. Chalobah shined in the new system. Looked average outside of it. Disasi never played in the improved system. Mudryk should be average he got robbed of so many assists (speaking on Jacksons misses)
Chalobah is top class! I remember when a couple seasons back, he had an amazing unbeaten record. Why get rid of our best defender?

I think Disasi worth being in d Good Season category. He kept fit for most of d season and played an enormous part for the team in different roles. For a first timer, deserves the upper category

Good list but i would argue for Sterling in good. He got us most of our points at the start of the season and some at the end…Sure he made some mistakes but he has had a solid season
I think Sterling in the Average is the only issue I have, he was good for about 8 games of the season. Should have been doing a lot better and instead of showing leadership he took the penalty off palmer against Leicester.

Enzo was a liability for our team whenever he played. He just didn't fit into pochetinos plan. It's not a coincidence that we were unbeaten for 6-7 games once he went out

Charloba and Gallagher might stay put and run down their contract and leave as a free agents if no contract is offered to them. They will also get signing-on fees as a free agents. It is not a must for them to go. Both have one year contract. If i were them, i will not go to any other club for now. Let the stupid Todd and his dingbats colleagues cry.
Read the Lampard interview about playing/dealing with a hernia. Enzo really should've had the op months ago. Sanchez makes us worse, simple as that; defenders don't need or want a sloppy, imprecise passer out of goal, reckless. De Zerbi knew what he had, so he fleeced us. Because of POCH, CFC MASSIVELY underachieved. George is not mad to suggest top 4. Tottenham had Kane, we had Palmer, or Poch would've been gone by Christmas.
Sanchez very disappointing for me, I much prefer petrovic but I don’t think he’s a long term option as of now.

Not bad. Maybe Silva higher up as he was a scapegoat. But mostly for his classy leadership and clutch performances.
Gilchrist to average as he played few games, late minutes, had a very bad game at right back. But gave his all when called upon. Defied his manager, advanced and scored a goal. Madueke to average. Scored some nice goals. Played well in the last six. But over the season, not good enough: over dribbling, missed chances, turnovers, disputing who to take a pk, cards, petulant behavior.
My ranking would look like
Dissapointing:
Badiashile, Chillwell, Reece James
Average:
Sanchez, Disasi, Colwill, Gilchrist, Enzo, Casadei, Sterling, Mudryk, (propably Nkunku)
Good Season
Petrovic, Thiago Silva, Cucurella, Chalobah, Caicedo, Madueke, Jackson
Top Class
Malo Gusto, Gallagher, Cole Palmer
not included: Bettinelli, Fofana, ugochukwu, chukwuemeka, lavia,

Sterling is like Pulisic was, totally predictable on the ball. Pulisic would drive down the left and stop completely, then try to make a move to the middle while the defense smothered him. Sterling almost always tries to dribble too long, and runs into 2 defenders and looses the ball. I know there weren’t many teammates to create space or pass to due to the system and Jackson drifting into never never land, but hey. Sell those 2 for bing money and get someone who can finish.
Madueke had about the same stats as Mudryk, so I wouldn't rate him as having a good season with Mudryk as dissapointing. I'd say Madueke dissapointed me too.

I swear this list is based on last 5 games only. While tactics change made Cucurella look better, he was still bad at positional defending exposing the whole defence (games against tougher teams clearly showed it). Chalobah also bar these 5 games wasn't that top.
Come on George, Gallagher is not in the same standard as Palmer, Gusto and Caicedo. He’ll run all day and put his foot in and chase around but has very limited creativity and a powderpuff shot. As a season ticket holder, I think he’s just not got the quality if we want to win trophies. We need to sell him and use the £50m to bring in a top striker, hopefully Osimhen.
I saw a video yesterday and jacksons XG was 91 😂 if he had hallands finishing ability my God or if he could just stay onside

I'd honestly pick Malo Gusto over Reece James any day. Similar skill levels overall, but not hot-headed even at a younger age.
You're being too generous with Jackson and Madueke. Jackson is the reason we are in the hunt for a new CF and when we get one, Jackson will have about as much playing time as Gilchrist, and will probably be subbing in at the same late stage of the game as the latter. The statistical comparison to Drogba is misleading. Surely you must remember. The rookie Drogba did not get served with nearly as many golden opportunities to score as Jackson has blown this season. But Drogba was creative, a quality that I'm not seeing at all in the workmanlike Jackson. As for Madueke, I question not his skill or athleticism but his judgment. It's not bad, but it's not world class either. He doesn't have that intuition that elevates a player to greatness over time. This isn't something that can be taught, so unless some dormant genius self-ignites within Madueke soon he will continue to make those bonehead plays of shooting when he should pass and vice versa. Otherwise, I'm really chuffed about the squad the ownership has put together and very excited about the future.
theres a lot of recency bias, caicedo will be top clas but he had an average season, me got his form back in the last few matches of the season.
Cucurella good season ? I think he was average at best, same with Gilchrist
How on earth has Cucu had a good season? He was good the last 5 games or so but very underwhelming to poor prior to the inverted role. Consistently making mistakes. Also have no idea how you managed to put Misha in the disappointing section. Very inconsistent yes, but huge improvement from last season.

Mudryk wasn’t that good, but you can’t put madueke in the good season category and leave mudryk so far down, especially when they have similar starts.
Caicedo in top class is stupid, he had 7 good games all season 5 of which came in the last 5 games… everyone is forgetting about the bad fouls and loss of possession that he did every fucking game for almost a whole season!!! He picked up recently but let’s not forget the rest of the season

Feel bad for the new manager. With all these players coming back from injury next season they will basically be starting from scratch. Chilwell or Cucu, Gusto or James, who to start at center back, where to put Enzo, where to put Nkunku. Lot of tough decisions
