Great demo, I really liked how you played the extended range. Most people who demo basses rarely play notes on the B, it was really nice to see someone incorporating the extra notes. Awesome.
Have to disagree. She is half assed. I have an eye on this 6 string. Is it neck through? I can tell by the colorpatern that it is but She didnt bother to show the back of it. Next issue is her playstyle. It is just pop n slap and fingerstyle. What about fast metal riffs? Thats also a customerbase. Smiling into the camera isnt enough when you wanna sell a product and all of her videos i saw until now arent very informative.
I've never seen Julia on Thomann before, but she plays great and this gives me a real taste of the new basses! Also, I'm glad Ibanez also have some Nordstrand-equipped EHB models, because the Bart's have never been to my taste.
Another great vid Julia! Sometimes it's nice to just hear the new stuff get a little test run for the ears without the full spec rundown. Keep cranking out more fun stuff and see you soon!
That first example....wow, sounds so powerful. The blend pickup setting....omg. never been this excited from just watching and hearing a video lol. You can hear the difference.
The Talman series is highly underrated. While in search of a new Fender Jazz bass or used Ric, my local shop handed me a TMB300. I was blown away by how well it played and ended up ordering a TMB600.
That headless bass was so fun it got BOTH her feet to tapping. My 20yo son just bought the exact same model & color, and I've had the opportunity to play it a bit. It's really light, with no neck-dive whatsoever. Sounds good, if a little "boomy" when played through the exact same rig as my other basses. I rolled the bass off quite a lot and dialed in a really nice, tight tone. The only other issue I have with it is the "sameness" of the fretboard. In a darker room, you better know your fretboard by feel, coz those tiny dots on that gorgeous cream-coffee fretboard are really hard for my middle-aged eyes to see :) The side dots are supposedly glow-in-the-dark, but it's faint enough to be a feature you might miss in anything but very dark conditions.
I just bought the TMB-100 "Pearloid" Mint Green IBANEZ Bass!!! Less than 3 days ago! I might need to have it adjusted, as the A-string & G-string buzz just a tiny bit on the 1st fret so play/check EVERY note before you buy; (luckily my warranty is good for 2 years.) Other than that it's got a great sound for a great price. ($199.00 at Guitar Center) My 1st bass was a sky blue Fender Jazz Bass.
Terrific demo! How do you like the balance of the EBH1000? The tone sounds great, but I wonder how it feels to play standing up. Keep bringing the noise!

Great instruments.... Ibanez is the top.... But Julia what happened to your left arm? We cannot loose your passion and your dedication.... Music world wouldn't be the same without you !
Hey Yulia, very nice Review. But it’s the same stuff in new design. In Germany we say:“Alter Wein in neuen Schläuchen.“ the headless is interesting. But what if I need to tune down to A or D? This shape with a head would be quite interesting. Or the old multiscale but without this „triangle“ on the headstock.
Nice demo, but some more details would have been nice. E.g., the new headless series (isn't this the first headless bass series in Ibanez' history?!?) contains of several models, with standard frets or multi scale. Which scales were used? Dingwall style (34 to 37")? Or something more "standard", like 33 to 35"? What about the chambered body? To me, they remind meof the Strandberg basses ... at about half the price tag. Comparison to the Strandberg? Oh, btw: if I recall it correctly, ALL BTBs are neck-thru ... and talking of six new series is plainly wrong ...
@@brettmarlar4154 from what I've seen it's around 1150 usd for the plain multiscales and about 1700 usd for the poplar burl top 5 string multiscales. Sweetwater has them listed as standard 35inch scales so you should be fine with regular long scale bass strings.
Can anyone tell me the type of strings I should put on my SR1005 EFM, pulled it out of the closet now I'm ready to start playing. I like Marcus's sound should I go with the Dunlop super bright sound bass strings?

The darker BTB looked stunning but although Ibanez has embraced fanned frets to a large extent they missed a big trick not producing a multi scale BTB in my opinion. That being said I think Ibanez has their scale all wrong, the position of the the straight fret at the 12th fret means two things - the fan is very stretched at the lower frets and the scale therefore cannot be truly long enough for effective low tuned drop tunings.
I don't know how you see that: in this video and In the pictures of the three MS models on the Ibanez website, the 7th fret appears to be the straight one.
Brian T the products that have been previously available from Ibanez have the straight fret at the 12th as far as I am aware but if these are at the 7th then why don’t didn’t increase scale to allow for a lower tuning. Probably they’re not aiming at that market but it’s that market that goes after such products. I think 36 to 33 would be sufficient but I think 37 to 33 would be better.
Just as I was going to type a comment asking if there are any 35" scale basses for extra low B clarity, I see the short scale 5-string bass! It seems to sound fine! I'm quite surprised!
Ibanez as usual knocks it out of the park. some of the best looking and best performing basses in their price range. I bought a top of the line BTB a year ago and havent stopped playing it since... i am really hungry .. send help.
What I don't get: Isn't the point of fanned frets, that the low strings are longer, so they would have to be stronger tightend and therefore are less sloppy? As for example the Dingwall low B-String is at 39''. But the EHB is at a normal 35'' scale at the low B. Doesn't this make the fanned fret idea pointless?
Yes, that's basically what a longer scale length accomplishes. Dingwalls are 37" on the B, not 39". No, you're forgetting that you don't necessarily need the longer scale length on all the strings... some fanned fret basses even have a shorter scale length on the G string, at 33" compared to most basses at 34"
