  • This is video from many different take offs with Legal Eagle XL ORV and Legal Eagle SR 7-1/2. Engines include the Verner 3V, BSV23 (Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 23) and the BSV35 (Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 35). I tried to keep each video section at approximately 38 seconds. Keep in mind the aircraft was at max. gross weight, a 275 pound pilot for all flights. A friend of mine has flow the Legal Eagle XL ORV with both the Verner 3V and the BSV23. He weights 160 pounds. His climb rate was twice what mine is and he can maintain level flight a considerable less RPM than I can.

I quit flying when I sold my last J-3 Cub in 1987. I am 70 years old and weigh 267 pounds. I have 500 hours tail wheel time. I owned and flew 11 taildraggers back in the 70s and 80s, mostly Cubs but also every model Belanca Citabria and several homebuilts plus a Luscombe 8F with 90hp. Until I found this Legal Eagle I had little interest in flying again. This little bird has me intrigued. Maybe I will build one soon. Guy in Columbia Mississippi

Lovely little aircraft. I assume it's a Part 103 aircraft. I need to move to the US. I love the runway as well, properties all along it.
