True they can grow up with different music traditions and approach to singing , but there are plenty of mixed choirs in UK, it's a very good situation to learn in.
The clear difference between the two teams is that the right side was singing the notes and trying to make sure it all sounded orchestral and big. The team on the left was singing with emotion. Not just with their vocals but with their heart and you could feel it and that's what music is meant to do is evoke emotion in the listener.
University of Portsmouth Gospel choir. I stand and applaud you . Your performances gave me life to night. I loved everything about them. I don't think we've heard them to their fullest yet!
I can't say one team is better than the other. Both teams sang the song in their style and it really is very interesting to see just how the song has evolved in so many ways over the years. Great job to both teams.
okay. okay. okay. i think this is the most amazing thing i have ever heard. the left: wow. so much soul. so much power. EVERY soloist nailed it. i felt moved. i felt chills. i cannot express how this makes me feel!!! right: obviously all classically trained, and probably wouldn’t sound as awkward if they were singing something from, like, annie. or something. i think they have technique down, but it just didn’t have any soul. it’s clear who the winners were.. but honestly this is an amazing arrangement and very pleasing to the ear.
You need soul to sing this song. And your soul better be like a burning wild fire that melts the Hearts of anyone listening. It’s like a choir vs.. high school musical
Its funny how the judges all commented on the guy with the pink shirt; he's one of the only soloists on the right side who you could hear the soul over the trained tones.
totally agree. When the "you became my power, my pleasure, my pain" came along, I felt none of those. When the gospel group did it- totally different story.
Jayree Garcia actually the group on the rigt are great too but the song isnt for them. blue team rendered a more apt tone and has more soul. but overall they are all good singers
I can't get over how holy this song sounds when sung by a choir🌟Like when the Portsmouth Choir started singing it the lyrics just started to gain a completely different meaning... Perfect Gospel Magic
Both groups were epic. Church choir had more passion while the other group had ridiculous harmonizations and even an overtone here and there. And then Seal started to sing and we all know that man is the real winner.
Honestly I prefer Team Denim. Everytime when I hear some white high school musical kids singing, it sounds upbeat but completely lacks heart and feels superficial. When I hear the other team, I can feel the passion and soul in their voices. Sorry high school musical, but this singing battle was decided as soon as it started
When Seal sang his note I got goosebumps after that ladies notes from the blue team! Soulful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🖤🇬🇧 Edit: You can the judge bouncing in his seat when the blue team sang 😂the soul and excitement from them was everything! They weren’t trying to be pitch perfect they were singing the song how we feel it which is everything ❤
When the first guy that sang stopped and switched to the other group, I felt bothered. My first instinct told me, already, that the blue group is the winner.
It's not even a competition IMO. Left side made me feel what they were saying. Right side felt like some Pitch perfect or high school musical shit. Clearly all doing their thing. So, props for that.
0:36-0:50 is arguably one of the most important lines, and yet they ruined it. Really disappointing. Left side had better overall control and understanding of the underlying tones the song used.
People out here saying the right choir sucked, I agree that the left choir deserved to win but like damn I thought they both sounded great. I'd pay to own each choirs' individual performances
Left side won for sure. As soon as I heard 0:34 it was an instant turn off for the right side IMO. The girls sound like they come straight out of Disney animated movie songs and the boy sounds like he’s from high school musical.
The college choir on the left seemed to have a lower, muted, polyphonic sound; tight, perky harmonies on the right; great soloists on both sides. The left side captured the wistfulness of the joy of love a little too late in life.
The team on the right were nice - very technical and on point - better rehearsed...but the team on the left got the feel of the song more - and sang with soul. Can't rehearse that. That's why they won
Am I the only one who thinks seal’s scar looks badass af?
Just Some Guy With No Mustache just wanted to say Seal has Lupus called discoid lupus which affects the skin. Yes I think they are badass lol
No
Yeah I think it looks dope, because it’s barely noticeable and so it just adds character. It would really suck if he was white.
He looks so damn good 💕
Hell yeah!!! On the wise words of shane falco (Keanu Reeves): chicks dig scars!!!
I don't know much about music ,but when the left choir sang,it gave my goosebumps, that came with love from very deep
Seal put them all to shame.

Ima say ... FREAKING RACIST BRO
in a sense, but in reality they had so much more passion to their singing, it was obvious from the start who was winning
it's just not their style i think. tbh at first i thought Bristol Suspension were gonna be in Final.
1:33-1:36 " to me your like a grown addiction I cannot deny " sooooo much testimony behind it I cannot deny as well....😢😍
Feel ya
Yep
exactly that part sold me it was perfect!!
Having him sing with both groups at the end to pick who melded with his voice best was an epic way to pick.
As an Asian, I would say that black choir is so distinctively heavenly...
Bruh, it's the blue team not black team
what's you being asian got to do with anything
ICU troll 🤣🤣🤣
Asian people can’t sing.
They eat sushi with some smoked fish, or go and walk on the big wall 😂
Gergő Juhász who said that?

One was singing from heart (kind like singing in the shower) and the other one singing in the studio booth
i am very late but the right also needed more male singers there was not a lot of depth in the vocals
@@emmanuelmwamukonda6373 SO ACCORDING TO YOU EVERYONE WHO SINGS IN A BOOTH HAVE NO EMOTION??
Nothing to do with emotion. But if you think that's what I meant that's fine too.
@@emmanuelmwamukonda6373 Everyone sang with emotion, but not everyone sang from the emotion that (in my opinion) the song originally embodied.

Rainbow Styx Hey shut up
@@Smellohwell Keep hating. They were far superior to the other group. And clearly Seal thought the same
Crazy good to hear Seal sing this in the same key as the recording even for just a bit.
He’s actually singing it a semi-tone higher than the original, which is more impressive
You both have great ears
Damn that soul from the black choir is hauntingly beautiful. Much respect. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
I don't care about the color: black , white or even multicolour. But the blue team has a really good voice, yeahhh it is touchable sound
They deserved for sure! The harmonies was crazy, strong voices from low notes to high singing in perfect arrangement, well done

the denim clad kids had more soul in their voices.
Dani Mark a little on the nose, don't you think?
Agreed. Though that's expected of a choir group. If it had been a pop song instead I feel the colourful bunch would've had the edge.
I was just explaining that to my daughter. They were feeling the song. The colorful group where good, just not the right song.
You mean the black group lol "denim" Lmaoo
Dani Mark true that

The sherbert group clearly were more practiced... but you can't beat someone who sings from their soul.
Unless that someone is Christina Aguilera , she has so much soul that she can't hold one note straight
That's kinda how I felt. One was more technically sound while the other had more feeling.
Yea, the sherbert group had such awesome control, but the girl from 1:31 just gave me chills.
