@sophiaehirim4077Be patient, respectful, presentable, smell nice, always greet and introduce yourself to new clients, if you are going to be late, call the office to inform the client and apologise on arrival, read their book to know what to do, say please, thank you, read the instructions in their food to know how to heat it up, , clean and tidy after yourself, if you are handling machines to carry clients follow proper instructions don't do it your way you might end up with bad back pain, if you are doing double up calls like working with another carer communicate between you to avoid mistakes especially with tablets, don't ever use your phone in client house unless your office calls you and ask permission to answer, if you do a proper job, you will be liked, I hope that helped, good luck. Be confident, don't let anyone bullied you, at first you might take longer than your time but try to learn from it and to quicker next time but never rush the client, never tell them to hurry, just use your skills to hurry, and communicate with them it's important ask them if they have a good sleep at night, how was their day later when you come, when you are done , always write all what you have done, if someone was with the client write it down, if someone is staying with the client write it down too, always leave water by their side, ask them if they need anything else before you leave and make sure you secure the door properly
Please and please, don’t try to lift them up, DON’T!!! Ask them if they can stand up themselves, if you see they’re not able to and want your help in getting up, don’t assist. Call their next of kin and immediately call the ambulance.
You should find out from your employer. It varies to be honest. But firstly, all the documents you used in the first place to get the job will be very needed along the line.
Domiciliary care is chilling compared to care home, apart from driving. I enjoy driving too
