Very informative yet with a touch of humour. Pls I have some questions- what is the possibility of the bank not approving the mortgage even though they gave a mortgage in principle?
Also, as a health care worker, does the bank take your locum pay into account when checking your affordability?
Can’t wait to hear which mortgage advisers are best for health care workers.
Although it happens rarely, a mortgage can be refused even after having a mortgage in principle because during a MIP the bank don’t do an intensive search on your credit history and so on but when they putting in for the mortgage it self, they do an intensive search.
Some banks will agree to use your overtime and some will probably take on 40% of it. It depends.

Also you can use mortgage gym to play around the figures to give you an idea of how much you can borrow and what interest rate etc in theory.
If you get paid via paye yes the bank should take all your declared income I.e what appears on your payslip into account when calculating your affordability. I got all my mortgages as a locum but it’s much easier going through a mortgage broker as opposed to a Bank because they have access to hundreds of products increasing your chances of being able to secure a mortgage. They charge a small fee around 500 pounds .
