Sketchbook tour (2023 Oct - 2025 Jan)

My second finished sketchbook, and the first A4 I ever finished. I started it during my art workshop, so the beginning is portrait heavy. Trying out different materials, time limits. Working from life, also from photographs, or following tutorials. In February 2024 I joined Emma Carlisle's patreon, so later I started using it for these sessions. And the variety of subject matter changed, and as you can see, my style of sketching also changed. I became looser in my style, using the sketchbook not only to create beautiful art, but also to practice line drawing, drawing with the non-dominant hand, using both hands. Start experimenting with animal portraits, monochrome landscapes, loose flower paintings. Also testing materials. Drawing thumbnails. And lots of drawing exercises.
Hope you find this Flip Trough inspiring. For me, looking at the progress I have made during this time is encouraging. It's proof that persistence and daily art making can make a huge difference.
