I’ve kept away from painting for 35 years because I felt pressured to produce. I’m on my 3rd painting in the past month - thank you for helping me to feel the joy again.
I enjoy watching you paint, so much. I often watch once and re-watch painting along. I saw a video by Cecile Yadro (gouache artist, from 🇨🇵) She went to visit a brush company in Saint-Brieuc, Brittany: Raphael. It is a family run business, all brushes made by hand. They offer public tours and show you how they make brushes. They also have a small museum showing historical brushes. Since you are in Brittany, I thought it would tickle your curiosity and perhaps consider a visit. Thanks again for this wonderful painting session!
Diane, I love watching you paint and listening to your voice. Your work evolved into a beautiful piece of art. Thank you for helping me to fall in love with watercolor.
18:44 : At that stage, I was so disappointed ! And then the miracle of watercolour : 40:54. This is your work in progress that fascinates me in your videos... and your animals sounds, your voice more than any other tuto video. Thanks Diane.
Fascinating process with all the colors, blotting, scratching, gilding.... a stunningly beautiful painting! Wow! Daring to go where your intuition takes you. Need to try this.
I liked that. I love seeing your paintings evolve. I always think...where is she going now!! That distressed gold effect was lovely and was complimented by that background. Looking forward to having a go at this. Thank you Diane 😊
I just love what you have to say while you’re painting! It makes me laugh and so many times I feel the same thing. It’s like you know what’s in my mind. I love your style and I’m happy you are sharing it with us.
Thank you for demonstrating so many different techniques in the same tutorial. As a beginner, it's great to have so much information in the same video.
Hello Diane, my daughter treated me to a set of your crabrushes, im still waiting for her to bring them to me, but I really am looking forward to to using them! When you first used the grey, I thought, how lovely it looked, so I’m not surprised you used more of it! Another beautiful piece of intuitive art! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and process, you’re a marvel🤍🕊️
I enjoyed watching you paint 🎨. I think your dog wanted your attention 😊 they love attention. Have a good rest of your evening. I've never painted Intuitively? I should try it. Looks like fun. 👍 JK FLORIDA 🇺🇸 USA.
Loved some of the color combinations. I think I liked it before the leaves or after but just some leaves! Just my preference. But love listening and watching you work!!!❤
Bises mon amie a bientot
My 256th. 😅it took some effort to watch because I am totally new to intuitive painting. My mind is too hooked up with painting to nature and maybe simplifying it. But I watched the whole video and the little seed is planted 😂. I have to probably watch more of this category to get more familiar . It's quite a process you showed. I will try to onlock my brain ( will take huge time because I think I have a hard headed brain that is very stuck in ground patterns) . Thanks 😊wim
Thanks Wim for this interesting comment! I’m sure if you watch a couple more videos you’ll get the idea and you’ll give it a try. I always say, what is there to lose except a little paint and a bit of paper?
Thank you Diane, love listening to you and watching you paint. We used to own a house in Brittany, further north, at La Foltiere, near Epiniac. We miss it so much and you are a connection to our happy times in France, so thank you
It was fun watching the whole intuitive process! I have trouble with most of my white pens of all different kinds and my husband says it's because they are cold and if they are warmed up they will work better. Maybe I will try soaking one in hot water before I use it??? Very pretty and lovely colors with the golden leaves!
Hi Diane, I am currently waiting for my background to dry~ mine is a bit brighter and yeah lol! I will work on the rest when it's dry! So far it has become pretty nice and calming ~ I don't know what contrast color to use for the leaves though! Because it's bright~ I've done the techniques and even sprayed it with water and dabbed some more. Thanks and much love from pnw USA ❤️✝️🙏🏻
honey, gum arabic, waxes tend to mess up gel pens nibs...ii keep a small spritzer bottle with alcohol in it to help...had to switch to acrylic brush pen markers & alternate...a dry clear gesso top coat pre gel pens also helps (art basics or Dina wakley clear gessos work best consistency wise).
I think intuition comes more easily to people of faith, which I know you are. Me too. We don’t need visible evidence to support what we experience…we just know it’s true. Others may think I’m crazy but that doesn’t bother me. They’re entitled to their opinions.
I’m like you…always return to botanicals! I’ve tried other things like geometric designs but I just don’t think my results look good. I guess that’s my style. I firmly believe in intuition and intuitive knowledge. I’m comfortable with mystery. I find science fascinating but as Shakespeare said: there are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. White pens? Haven’t found one that works either. Love this…especially the background.
Thanks Deirdre, I needed to hear that affirmation! I sometimes feel like a voice crying in the wilderness ! I’ll just keep on doing what I (intuitively) feel is right! And as for the white pens, I know they aren’t meant for going on rough paper and over paint, but I can’t help wishing!
Wow, what a lovely set of paint! I went to the website and didn't see any pigment information on the paint... are you going to do a full review? I would love to see it!❤
Victoria has a page on the website with information about her paints here: www.vhaquarell.de/en/farbeigenschaften If you want to know the pigment color codes you can email Victoria and ask her for the information.
Hi Diane- is the paint or paper really abrasive? When you brushed on the silver it sounded like you were painting or brushing sand paper Interesting process😊
I’ve kept away from painting for 35 years because I felt pressured to produce. I’m on my 3rd painting in the past month - thank you for helping me to feel the joy again.
Oh that’s great to hear Christine. I’m so glad for you xxx
My favorite thing about watercolor is doing something wet in wet. Even if I just wet an area and watch the one drop of paint move. It mesmerizes me
Right?! That is exactly why I fell in love with watercolors! I actually get a thrill from what the water and color do.❤
Diane, I love the new opening format and the happy music!

I do the same❣️
@@deborahmielke620 It's good to know I am not the only one doing this! 🤭 it is so enjoyable!
Diane, I love watching you paint and listening to your voice. Your work evolved into a beautiful piece of art. Thank you for helping me to fall in love with watercolor.

This makes me brave. I love the result as well as the process.

This is brilliant!❤️🦋
BTW, you had me laughing so hard .... the white pen and getting the white paint 😂 and the dog 😂🤣😂 I really needed that today, so thank you much
Fascinating process with all the colors, blotting, scratching, gilding.... a stunningly beautiful painting! Wow! Daring to go where your intuition takes you. Need to try this.
Thanks so much Connie!
Beautiful color scheme!

Lovely end result, isn’t it. Nice and colourful in this January blues

Thank you so much!
I love your florals and farm animals
This turned out rather well, and I love these paints, but oh, what a treat they would be! Thanks Diane 😊❤
I learned from you, Diane…when you don’t like your work keep going! It usually works!
Yes... me too. 'Everything will be ok in the end, if its not ok, then it's not the end'
Really enjoyed this video. Wasn't sure where you were going at first, but the end result was beautiful ❤. Thankyou for sharing your talent with us x

Hi question did you wait for background to dry before adding the leaves? ❤ lovee the background it was super fun. 😊
Yes 😊
🐨👍
The pens don't like the rough texture of the paper. They work for a while, then stop.
