We read very differently from one another, I love how divergent we all are, it's so curious pondering the complicated intersections between nature & nurture, & how all this impacts on 'freewill'. It's so curious. I read one book at a time, & could never annotate, it's so interesting: we read much the same books, but read them so differently. I love it!
I really enjoyed hearing you speak about the books you are currently reading. How very different they all are! I love the fact you have as many as you do on the go. I'm not sure my scatty brain would cope and i would forget what was happening in which book. 😆 Book tube seems to me to be a very friendly nook of RUclips. Its great fun to connect with others and have bookish rambles.☺️ I have 'There are rivers in the sky' on my kindle but have yet to get to it due to a huge pile of books i want to read. I may move it further to the top of the pile after having listened to your thoughts on it. I've read '10 minutes, 38 seconds in this strange world' also by Elif Shafak, which i thought was very good. However , the first half more than the second. It may be one that Jo or yourself may be interested in reading. I'm pleased that you have decided to go ahead with the Russian Revolution video. It'll be great to learn a little more about that time in history and im sure will make for a really fascinating conversation. Interesting to hear of the differences between salutes. I didnt know this.☺️ Fabulous video as always, Mark!! 😃
Thanks so much. They are different, aren't they. Actually, you have me thinking - that may well be the underlying mania I have - difference and be different. Bookish rambles is a wonderfully fine phrase. Cheers!
1:52 Twenty-five books that you’re currently reading! I tip my hat to you sir - that’s impressive! I’ve jokingly referred to myself as a ‘book polygamist’ for having a mere 6-10 books going at any given time.
The sheer number of different books you’re reading concurrently boggles the mind! I only ever read two concurrently, at most - usually not even that. Maybe I’ll try this method sometime, having at least one book to read in smaller amounts over a longer period. The film of Our Man in Havana was a good one, but easily my least favourite of the three collaborations between Graham Greene and Carol Reed. (The Third Man is one of my top films of all time.)
@ I haven’t read the Third Man book - I gather Greene wrote it specifically to adapt it into the screenplay, so I’ve never particularly felt the need to read it. I hope you have fun with it though. (If fun is the right word for Graham Greene!)
The glorious variety of a rambling reader! I like Hemingway but sometimes he annoys me. Talented though. I am interested in hearing more about Nagle and more sailing stuff in general. I finished your second book . Would it just be best to contact you via that email you have on your profile to discuss a time when we could try to do a video together?
Plenty there to keep you out of mischief! Best wishes and happy reading.
LOl. It would require a shed load more to keep myself out of mischief! But they do help... thanks for the comment!
Welcome! I'd love to know if you watch - please, leave a comment!

We are divergent, nicely put - we are all different therefore we are all the same. Thanks!

Well, they say, variety is the spice of life, Mark and i think it's great to be different!! 😃
Thank you for the fab video.☺️
Great list! I've had a picture of Dorian Gray on my TBR for a while - hopefully should be coming up on my library reservation list soon!
It's interesting, for sure! Good luck.
Your booklist is amazing! So varied but all interesting. One of my all time favorites is A Room of One’s own. ❤
Variety is the spice of life... and it appears I am well spiced. Turmeric - that's bitter isn't it? Lol.

I do like t boggle. When I consider the books I have on the go my flabber has never been so gasted. I will look out for the Third Man book. Thanks!

@@genteelblackhole Yes... fun is not what I would call his writing; whimsical at times... yes - whimsy?
@ Whimsy? I thought that was Dorothy L. Sayers! 😉
One of the Old Salts salutes you Sir ;)
BZ! Right back at ya... and a flourish of a salute a la Red Dwarf.
