Ill never forget it. I was driving home at 3am in the freezing cold rain on my motorcycle. I was freezing 🥶. I was stopping at rest stations to warm up. Anything to warm up. I finally made it to a Love's and was planning to take a shower to warm myself up. I was probably in hypothermia. I was at the counter telling that clerk I just want a "Hot shower." The trucker at the next register said "it's on me." And he paid for it with a token or something. He may have only saved me $15, but the memory makes me tear up. 😢
Love this. I’m a motorcyclist too, and when I didn’t have a car yet I’d ride all the time in the cold. Just be careful about getting frost nip on your hands and toes, if you get frost nip enough it causes permanent damage. I can’t feel temperature properly in my fingers anymore and my hands are often numb! Love your story though. People looking out for one another is the best.

As a trucker, I have given showers to travelers on multiple occasions. And yes, once we fill up 1,000 gallons a month (which is super easy to do), we can have 2 free showers every day for the present and following month. On top of that, every 75 gallons filled gets us an additional free shower. Ask a trucker for a shower credit if you're ever at a truck stop. There's plenty to go around.
When I was 13 my dad took my on a trip with him (he was an over-the-road trucker). My period started during the trip, I was pretty miserable and it was really educational for both of us. He learned that no matter how much privacy he gives me I can't just "go in a cup between the seats" when there's not a bathroom around for miles, especially when there is period stuff to consider. I learned that despite the steep learning curve, my dad could be really helpful and supportive. He managed to find a truck stop that was way out in the middle of nowhere but it was super clean and I was able to get a bath instead of a shower. I can't remember the name of the place but it had a huge soaking tub and he bought me some pretty-smelling soap and also picked me up some pads during the trip. That trip he also introduced me to Bluebell ice cream (it hadn't made it to our home state yet) and something called Borden's condensed chocolate (maybe condensed chocolate milk) which was basically fudge to put on the ice cream. He also (unrelated to the period stuff) carried me into a truck stop in tx because I couldn't walk at the time (I have hip dysplasia and my hip just randomly dislocates). I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my dad as a kid because he was usually off trucking but that trip I really got to know him more. Sometimes I think, during a trip, you get to know people on a different level than you would otherwise.
Agreed. I didn't get to meet my dad until I was 12. My dad is an avid motorcycle tripper, so he took me on many. It didn't completely fix all the missed time but I really got to bond with him on trips more than just living with him.
Last time i got a shower at the little America truck stop at exit 68 of I-80 in Wyoming, i had the option to get one with a bath as well. I jumped at that since it's been on the road for a few months at that point and missed talking a bath.
I worked at a Pilot for years. We made sure nobody ever paid for a shower, usually a trucker would use their free shower but if none were available I would just let them in and code in the shower out of order until they were done. Hygiene is a human right, not a commodity.
I'm a dude and was on a road trip. Trucker saw me trying to buy a shower. He gave me a free shower and refused my $5. Truckers embody the American spirit and are people too. MAYBE he gave her the free shower because she was a woman, but im not a pretty woman and got a free shower. Remember to give them the space they need on the road!
I spent a year hitching around the country when I was 19/20. I'm a dude who's a 6 or a 7 on my best day, so no one's ever granted me favors based on my gender or my looks. I used to score free showers at truck stops all the time. Most of the truckers I met embodied the phrase "salt of the earth," and were decent and considerate people. Truck drivers are the backbone of our consumer economy, and when they are eventually replaced by robots and self driving trucks, I think we're going to go through some things.
Give them the space they need, and especially when they're turning on 2 lane roads. There's a lot of factories on my way out of town, and the truckers recognize my car. They recognize it because they know I'll stop traffic to let them in/out of the yard and I won't tailgate or cut them off. You could possibly benefit from following my example.
Absolutely! I used to work in logistics and knew a Lot of drivers. The stories they can tell! In my teens I knew a family that had trucks. Got to ride in the semi once and a motorcycle made a left in front of us, then slammed on his brakes when the road narrowed from 2 lanes to 1. He almost became a grease spot that day. Much respect for that one!
As a truck driver I am happy to share my extra shower credits when asked. Yes most of us have extra free showers. And it's worthless to us if we don't use them before they expire. So don't feel bad for asking a truck driver for a shower. We love helping others in need, well most of us do lol.
As a part of the trucker community we approve this message, this really shines light on how some people don't know your best friend when in need is sometimes an unknown truck driver😁
It's definitely a strange coin. On the road truckers make me nervous with the inherently large vehicles and the consequences that come with the size. In person the most dependable people I've ever met are truckers though.
I have much love for the trucker family. They saved my life when I was driving home at midnight on I40. When I stopped for gas at a loves, a male began to follow my car. Out on dark roads this trucker appears behind me and the male following me, flashed his lights until the male went around me, because at that point I had slowed down. Then another trucker got in front of me and both stayed right with me for 3 hours until I turned off to my exit. I will never forget their kindness. ❤
Im a tower climber working in Tennessee. I live in my van and when ever a trucker steps in and gives me a free shower its always when it is most needed and i do very much appreciate it. Thank You to all the truckers out there. Your the reason america works and without you we couldnt order radios for the cell towers to fix stuff.
I'm a finance professional and I've done mortgages for a lot of veterans and truckers. Both my best type of clients. A lot of my truckers were veterans but not all. They were always kind and gracious (mortgage process can be very stressful and people can act all types of ways when stressed) but my truckers were always kind and we had the best conversations about their journeys. Hard workers. My respect. You guys make the world go round and it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!
I was a trucker for a few years, then i became an 88M for the army. When i was driving truck I was a diamond status member at loves so i had unlimmited showers for free each month. One day im in line to get some food at the register and infront of me is a homeless man trying to get a shower with a membership card given to him by a fellow trucker. The casheer asked the homeless man for his cdl and explained that if he doesnt have one that he cant get a shower there. With a look of defeat on his face and a tier in his eye this man starts to step out of line so i stop him and said dont worry buddy i got you. I handed the casheer my cdl and my diamond membership and explained that i spent over 500 a day in fule at loves to this casheer. I said if you refuse this man from taking a shower i will call corprate and explain to them why they will be losing my busness and give them his name. That homeless man got his shower and a subway sub with a large drink and a cookie by the time i was done with that store clerk. Sometimes being an asshole is the best way to be a good person.
I call bullshit. Love's doesn't require you to have a cdl in order to have a shower. Not once in my decade of driving has Love's said, "i need to see your cdl with youe Love's card."
@@AlexJones0316 I work at Love's and that sure isn't a thing but that doesn't mean that cashier didn't say that cause they were being a dick and didn't wanna clean the homeless guys shower when he was done.
I was a brand new trucker, didn't have any real money yet and didn't have a shower saved up yet either. I went on a job and got absolutely covered in mud from hair to toes. Trucker saw me trying to pay and stopped me and gave me a credit. I always have spare shower credits.
Man I remember when I was living out the back of my prius and working at the subway in a love's truck stop they used to let me wash up in the showers and ill never forget those cold showers in the middle of the summer really saved me out there, now I'm looking at getting my cdl and I couldn't be happier to pay it forward. Thank you for this I don't know if I would've thought of that
Used to work at a truck stop and I have to say the most polite customers in the retail/convenience store “industry” have to be truckers. A good 99% of them have no entitlement complex whatsoever. It must’ve been the lifestyle on the open road, unrestrained to a particular building and the monotony of a workPLACE.
I use to work at loves and I Can definitely tell you the the rudest dirtiest mothfuckas alive Lol and other truckers will tell you the same haha is the sad part ha
Truck driver here, I can confirm that truck stops are essentially an extension of our workplace. Our trucks are our home / office so you could consider truck stops as our communal area or food court. We aren't looking to cause trouble as the brief time we're inside is the only time we don't have to worry about the idiots of the road (80% of our stress) and so we'll typically be in a better mood while away from the truck. Note: The big three (primarily TA/Petro, Love's and Pilot/Flying J) will share layouts with others of their company name so they mostly feel the same no matter which one we stop at. Plus we can do our laundry as well as showers at most truck stops.
I work in a hotel that is next to and owned by a truck stop. Probably a good 40% of our guests are truckers. They are great. Not needy, treat the rooms good, don't make a mess. The only draw back is they know how to put away the bacon during breakfast. But we're happy to provide it to keep them coming back
@@jonathandrake2451 we also end up accidentally memorizing all the automated PA messages lol. "There is currently no wait for a shower. Please park your truck, come inside, and get a clean, hot shower. Thank you for shopping at Flying J"
When I was living out of my car I got a membership to planet fitness. I would use the treadmill for 20 minutes and hit the showers every day. $10 a month.
Lifetime fitness is 24/7. If you are low on $ just pay $100/month and they got everything. You can chill and sleep in the locker rooms they got tv and couches
I used to work at a loves travel stops It's a kind and friendly gesture always safe but they can see the code for the shower if they use their loves phone app to get a shower and give you the code that way so always get the ticket if they are willing donate a shower human trafficking is real stay safe out there ✌️
You can say its a "team shower" and you can get two shower rooms for the price of one shower. Its happened to me a few times where a driver noticed me waiting in line with my shower stuff and he said team shower and then handed me the spare ticket. Be kind to each other.
@@InJusticeAustralia Two drivers in one truck. They take turns driving while the other driver sleeps. Team shower would be when the truckstop gives them both a shower with one fuel-up. No it does not mean they both use the same shower together. They might, if it's a couple, but that's not what was meant in this instance.
I'm a travel nurse, and drive across the country to all of my assigned hospitals. Love's truck stop showers have been a life saver when I'm sleeping in my car in a Walmart parking lot driving from Florida to Oregon.
@@joblessalex yeh just ask. I fuel so much at loves particularly that I have unlimited showers. And if someone says no for any reason, ask the next guy!
Truckers are some of the nicest people in the world. When I used to go on tour and just hang out at truck stops, we would have a bunch of wonderful conversations while fueling up or waiting on showers.
Had that happen to me before I was thrown off nicest thing that someone has done for me in a long time. Nice Russian dude really cool was just asking how much the showers are and he hooked it up! Super grateful for that!
I’m a trucker, and I see normal civilians trying to pay cash or swipe their credit cards all the time. I would intervene and tell them don’t ever pay for a shower. Depending on the truck stop. I have unlimited showers that month or I usually have 5-8 free showers at each of the major truck stops. I would recommend you wear sandals. Barefoot would be 🤮
You’re so kind! This is exactly what happens to me, always happen when I’m at check out and I’m always so so so thankful for you all! PS. For everyone who was asking in the comments - this is how it has been donated every single time I got a free one!:-)

My Father was a coast-to-coast trucker. They didn't have these showers when he drove trucks. Boy, if he was still alive, he would be smiling when seeing these showers. He did always sing the praises of truckstops... fabulous food & even more fabulous coffee, & the friendliest staff, ever. He took our whole family to truckstops when we moved to FL from NYC. All of us were impressed.
My company only uses pilot/flying j and I was in a loves randomly and a guy asked me for a shower. I just outright paid for it because I didn't have a loves card. A shower can totally change a person's day, you literally wash off a bad day.
I was about to pay for a shower at Loves one day. It was only $10 and I could afford it (very thankful for what I have, not everyone CAN even spend that $10 to shower!) but a trucker paid or used credits for mine anyway just because. Although I didn’t “need” the help, and regardless of why he chose to do that, I greatly appreciated it and his small random act of kindness made my day! Even those who don’t “need” the help can still be affected in a positive manner by the simple gestures like that.
I was at a pilot once using the facilities around 0600. There was another gentleman there washing in the sink. I offered him a shower credit so he could have a proper shower and some privacy. Buddy must have woke up on the wrong side that morning because he had some very choice words over my kindness. The point of this is, even though there's crappy people like that out there, many of us still choose to be kind and pass it along. I've learned many years ago an act of kindness can still give people hope.
I got a free shower when I took a ride trip on my motorcycle thru a tornado warning, and hail storm. I am so grateful for that day. It was not a good leg.
My ex was a trucker for a bit and I've used the showers before at Pilot and Loves. They were always pretty nice. My granddad was a trucker back in the 1950s based out of Virginia. He could whistle full songs and I asked him one day how he learned to do that. He replied that back when he was young and driving in his truck, they didn't have radios so he had to entertain himself somehow. Both of his sons are also truckers (One worked for UPS, up and down the east coast and the other hauls new Camaros all over the country) and I've always had the utmost respect for truckers. They rarely see their families (one of my uncles only saw his kids about 2-3 days out of the month while they were growing up). They have to put up with crazy drivers on the road all day, every day. They're also the backbone of our country and a lot of people don't realize it.
I love Love's. On my trip on Route 66 with my dog in my car, I stopped at many Love's and it was a great experience for both my dog and I. Big assortment of food and drinks including delicious hot coffee, clean showers and restrooms, extremely friendly staff, and you can even park and sleep. Since I was driving through multiple states, I did use their showers and it was a good experience. Shower rooms are quite roomy and they have enough to service many people at once.
I never knew truck stops had showers. I’m learning so many things watching these van life folks videos! I’m not sure I have the guts to live like this but I think those who do are incredible! ❤
Price is 16 now at most love’s. If a trucker gets 50 gals or more it gives them a free credit. If they reach a certain number of gals in a month they get diamond/platinum status and they have unlimited all month no fuel needed to be purchased. I believe the trucker gets the code on their phone if they use the app but the code only works once. You just have to be careful and make sure to lock the doors because the showers sometimes get false flagged for cleaning and a worker (who will knock) will enter a cleaning code to get in.
One of the greatest if not the greatest showers i ever had was at a Loves in Wisconsin driving from Vancouver BC to New York City non stop for New Years.
I love this for many reasons, but the big two for me personally, you're giving this information to people that may truly need it, and I respect that so much, as someone who has been homeless and struggled to maintain my hygiene. The second part is, you're showing that there's no reason you can't take care of yourself, just have to put the effort into yourself. Also, anyone who may need it, and is struggling financially, some public parks, state parks, or public Marinas have bath-houses which is a larger restroom, usually with a couple showers as well. But the ones at Marinas tend to be really clean for a public shower/bathroom. Hope it helps someone in need
My dad was a trucker my whole life. If I wasn't in school I was on the road with dad. Some of my favorite memories were the staff at the truck stops we frequented. We'd show together till I was about 9 where we'd take turns in the shower while I was washing off he'd shave. If people saw that today they'd be all sorts of messed up. He gave out as many showers as he was asked for. As an adult we lost power and water do to there being no power to the water tower pumps. So I told my husband at the time let's load up it's time to do laundry and take a shower. He didn't get it at first. Then I told him the local gestation is a truck stop they have Sowers and laundry mats.
I work at a Love's, and it's always beautiful to see that Driver of Platinum/Diamond Loyalty Status (Unlimited Refills and Showers) showing that feeling of community and helping others out! That's not to say there are opportunists who prey upon those who have that status, but that's a topic for another day. As always, thank you for shopping at Love's.
Yeah I mean the truckers themselves are actually commenting and saying they would give away a shower to whoever happened to need it and people are insisting it's only possible because she is attractive. I imagine these are the type of people who are only ever nice to people they think they can fuck.
It's actually because she's a female. Male truckers give away free showers to females they see at truck stops, most of the time it's because they think one of 2 things - 1. The woman is a lot lizard and will hook up with them after the shower or even during. 2. The woman will be so impressed and happy they gave them a free shower that they'll hook up with them or at the very least show them something. A lot of truckers won't admit to it online but it's 100% true. Just talk to some real truckers yourself, my dad was a trucker for over 30 years and I went with him over the road once. You wouldn't believe the shit these guys talk about over the CB and in trucker lounges. I've heard guys on the radio notifying other drivers of a specific vehicle when a woman flashes them so that others can get a peek.
@@Mortal209 I'm not denying that there are truckers who only would give it away with an ulterior motive, but there are several other truckers commenting here saying they give their vouchers to men, families, homeless people. I don't think it's likely all of them are lying. It may not seem like it, but genuine kindness still does exist nowadays.
Lol there can *always* be a camera these days. You know it can be smaller than a grain of rice in the wall. Edit: not saying there is, Just saying there's so much camera technology nowadays that is so small people cannot even see it close up.
I always have so many showers I don’t use and I try and give them away, when I fuel up I typically only put 60 gallons which is the minimum amount, so I can build up my shower count to make sure I can take one at any time, most drivers will give them up to travelers or other drivers, you can always tell by the person is staring at you holding a backpack or their shower bag.
As a trucker. Every shower we earn is good for a team shower. That's 2 people showering separately. 🚿 I give them away quite often. I don't mind sharing we all are here together. We're all family. You're welcome.
Loves it’s a 1000 gallons in the month for free showers, I did that in the first few days of the month. I used to give showers and sodas(also free after 1000)away all the time.
I was privileged to use the shower stall @ a Love's once when the regular toilets had a massive line. I can attest that it was clean, very secure and had a lovely staff that set it all in order. They even had a set of towels and a bath mat ready for the next shower guest. Next cross country trip I am definitely stopping again for a really good clean up before camping out in the van.
Shout out to the employee at the Loves in Covington, VA yesterday who hooked me up with a free shower. Made my day! Made this truckers bad day a little bit better.
Whenever I see someone go up to get a shower if I noticed that they don't have the points where they have to pay I always offer to give them one of my free showers it just makes sense
If you are traveling or driving with a friend, you can ask for a "team shower" before buying. You will receive two showers, each in a different separate room, for the price of one. Learned that trick when I was team driving for Weiner. They do expire within 10 minutes of your number being called though, so you can't just hold onto it and use it the next day.
My parents did a little trucking when they first got married in about in '70. She still tells the story if a shower so nasty you stood on this dirty wooden pallet, with disgusting brown water being able to be seen. She says even that wasn't the worse. But at that point she REALLY needed a bath as there weren't as many stops back then.
I have a beautiful heart and spirit, but not a beautiful body. My sister has a beautiful body but is so ugly and hateful inside and she always gets free things, kindess, lunches paid for by strangers, etc. At least Nikki is a beautiful spirit and soul.
Australian here, we have trucker's lounges here with free showers, and some service stations just have showers for travelers. Honestly surprised me you have to pay over there, I never knew that.
I do local work now days and rack up free showers, the managers at the loves i frequently visit let me cash them out and they keep them behind the counter for people that need them.
2018 went on a road trip with my mom and we slept in the car the entire time. We went to a flying jade and got a shower there, they literally kept those showers SO clean, like the workers literally cleaned them after every use. Ofc still wear sandals or something 💀 but 10/10 would shower at a truck stop again (also amazing water pressure)
As a trucker. I'm glad to see you got a free shower off one of us. Make sure you wear shower shoes/flip flops never walk barefoot in a truck stop shower.
I’m old…I started watching your channel because I thought living in a Prius was an option for my retirement. I actually chose travel on a motorcycle. But I’m glad you’re showing some of the positive…thank you!!!!

@@randybobandy9828 it is a job and a lifestyle. Not sure how to explain that, but when you live and sleep in your semi more than you do at “home”…well really the road is your home. I usually left on Sunday to be at my delivery for Monday morning and spent the rest of the week out running until Friday evening. So Saturday was the only full day off at “home”. That becomes a lifestyle when you live out of the truck 6 days a week…and some drivers will spend weeks and even months before coming home…so you’re living in your truck…which is really a lifestyle because that’s the majority of your life. Just like van life or living in a Prius I suppose. But I chose 2 wheels and a tent for now. Perhaps I should do a RUclips channel too about that…lol. There’s actually quite a few, checkout itchy boots… she’s traveling around the world on a motorcycle.
It’s awesome that so many truckers are willing to give away a shower to strangers. I wish Loves would make it possible for us nomads to get our own though.
Correct. I always use Loves for my truck. Free showers and drinks so long as you fuel up enough(incredible easy to hit enough with a semi) plus hundreds of dollars in rewards money you can use on anything in the store plus at any attached food places like Arby's or whatever company they partnered with. No problem at all to share we are happy to! Even planned my vacation with Love's stops in mind and used my points to pay for food for 6 and other goodies multiple times and had leftover points!
As a traveler/dirty kid (but not really cuz of this and other opportunities) for years this is very true. I urge folks not to overuse this, so it remains available for people who need it, and to try to be mindful about which truckers you get a shower from. The OTR guys use their showers. The guys who are home every night have plenty. Sometimes a trucker will just outright buy you a shower, if that happens and its not critical that you have a shower I urge you to kindly explain to them that you’d rather wait for someone who has an extra shower they’re not going to use then have them spend money that needn’t be spent. Its entirely possible to live off the fat of this country and not be a burden to anyone or inconvenience anyone. You just have to have a little patience and be mindful.
Its not only beautiful women I’m a cute woman and can confirm both older women and men take good care of me. A couple of years ago at 23 I booked a young adult train ticket to save money and that train got stuck and very delayed. An older woman working in the cafeteria gave me a bun and a juice and informed me she booked me a free cab home at arrival, when we arrived a man waited with me for my cab. Young adult is up to 20 but they all really cared for me and I felt good but a little naughty.
I may work in the shop but we're still a team together. I love seeing these types of videos. Me and my guys have helped many non truckers and I hope they know we're simply here to help and have a place for them.

My company wants us to fuel up at Irving in Maine. Their showers expire after like 2 days? Maybe a week. Not long. $10/shower if you're not using rewards and often full/out of order... Other than family and friends, daily showers are what I miss the most about being away from home. Only so much wipes can do LOL. Thankfully I get to come home more than I used to!

Legit true story: On the road the bathrooms are nasty so I would use my showers that accumulated, just to use a clean single bathroom if I had to do more than pee. They clean those showers better than the community bathroom.
Yea depending on the situation for sure. Sometimes, and you know the times, where you can barely get the brake set and rush into the bathroom there is a line but no wait for a shower and best believe I’m using those credits on the private toilet lol

I'm not a trucker but want to thank you for being so kind...

Considering that most trucks have two 150 gallon fuel tanks i'm not surprised.
@Tar-Númendil And those tanks are just the standard size, there's a lot of trucks that have two 175 or 200 gallon tanks.
Dads are the best! Thanks for sharing that story.
Agreed. I didn't get to meet my dad until I was 12. My dad is an avid motorcycle tripper, so he took me on many. It didn't completely fix all the missed time but I really got to bond with him on trips more than just living with him.
Am I reading AI
Last time i got a shower at the little America truck stop at exit 68 of I-80 in Wyoming, i had the option to get one with a bath as well. I jumped at that since it's been on the road for a few months at that point and missed talking a bath.
Road trips can really change people.
I worked at a Pilot for years. We made sure nobody ever paid for a shower, usually a trucker would use their free shower but if none were available I would just let them in and code in the shower out of order until they were done. Hygiene is a human right, not a commodity.
Pilot employees rock.
Seriously thank you
Wut? lol.

You're a good human

It's definitely a strange coin. On the road truckers make me nervous with the inherently large vehicles and the consequences that come with the size. In person the most dependable people I've ever met are truckers though.
I hope everyone knows that, without truckers, we wouldn't have Jack----!

Used to work at a truck stop and I have to say the most polite customers in the retail/convenience store “industry” have to be truckers. A good 99% of them have no entitlement complex whatsoever. Really? That's awesome! My trucker roommate is one of the most entitled people you'll ever meet, I'm glad most truckers aren't like her...
Note:
The big three (primarily TA/Petro, Love's and Pilot/Flying J) will share layouts with others of their company name so they mostly feel the same no matter which one we stop at.

Truckers are generally good people. I have friends that drive trucks and one helped me when I was stuck in the middle of nowhere when I was 17.
One of the greatest if not the greatest showers i ever had was at a Loves in Wisconsin driving from Vancouver BC to New York City non stop for New Years.
"there are no cameras you freaks" ...hahah that was great
I love this for many reasons, but the big two for me personally, you're giving this information to people that may truly need it, and I respect that so much, as someone who has been homeless and struggled to maintain my hygiene.
Truckers are awesome. Saved my life more than once on road in middle of nowhere Alaska in winter, where sliding off the road can literally be fatal.
I work at a Love's, and it's always beautiful to see that Driver of Platinum/Diamond Loyalty Status (Unlimited Refills and Showers) showing that feeling of community and helping others out!

She might just be a lot lizard
Yeah I mean the truckers themselves are actually commenting and saying they would give away a shower to whoever happened to need it and people are insisting it's only possible because she is attractive. I imagine these are the type of people who are only ever nice to people they think they can fuck.
It's both
It's actually because she's a female.
We were the people's convoy occupying hagerstown speedway.
It was fun
As a trucker. I'm glad to see you got a free shower off one of us. Make sure you wear shower shoes/flip flops never walk barefoot in a truck stop shower.
I’m old…I started watching your channel because I thought living in a Prius was an option for my retirement. I actually chose travel on a motorcycle. But my previous life (23 years) was driving truck. Not a job but a lifestyle. So my obituary will probably read a truck driver. So much negative stuff about truck drivers, and some earned. But I’m glad you’re showing some of the positive…thank you!!!!
Oh and I I continue to watch your channel because of camper…so if I do ever run you out there…my first reaction will be “omg camper!”
How was trucking your life and not a job? Did you do it for something other than money?
@@randybobandy9828 trucking is a lifestyle. It takes a certain kind of person because it's a totally different world. I love it but it is very different.
My man and I used to cargo van cross country and we LOVED pilot showers so much! It was such a treat! $7, 8 years ago lol
It’s awesome that so many truckers are willing to give away a shower to strangers. I wish Loves would make it possible for us nomads to get our own though.
Some truckers are very nice and I've been offered a free shower as well. Just be friendly back!
Yup, a BJ helps!
Do they usually give them away outside or in the store? I wouldn’t want to solicit anyone or bother them
This is why I love this gas station. When I was just homeless, still had money these were so convenient.
I car camped at Loves a couple of months ago. Love that they have the dog parks for my fur babies. Haven't tried the showers yet.
Or, hear me out here, you could get a fucking job and stop bumming shit
off people who work.
You should write a book
Damn, excellent point
Awww...it's so cute how beautiful women go most of their lives thinking everyone is soooo nice.
Lol for reaaaal
Lol .... very true.. as a man I'd like to acknowledge no truck driver has ever donated a free shower to me.... 🤔
Facts! This is a privilege designed for women only. If you're male expect to pay unless you have a trucker friend.
Nailed it💪💪👍
Beautiful as always. I’m a trucker. It would be cool to run into some of the people I watch on RUclips.
I may work in the shop but we're still a team together. I love seeing these types of videos. Me and my guys have helped many non truckers and I hope they know we're simply here to help and have a place for them.
When I young and homeless this is how I took care of myself to make sure ppl didn't realize I was sleeping on benches at night. Also the YMCA has showers u can use if u pay the membership or like I did just sneak in. Dam, just unlocked some core memories with this one lol 🤣
This made me so happy!! My family is in the trucking industry and I used to tag along during school breaks to visit different cities. Truck drivers have families and are amazing people too! It’s actually a dangerous and lonely job so there’s a built in camaraderie like this. So sad people judge based on the few for what is a community just trying to stock their shelfs.
I worked at a Dennys inside the Flying J Trucks stop, a cleaning lady for flying J got got a staph infection from the showers and lost a limb, it was so messed up and sad...I was told by a dermatologist that worked nearby that you should always wear sandals in public showers of any kind especially ones at truck stops to avoid fungal and bacteria infections. So be safe everyone
If it was a leg I guess I’d question why she was cleaning barefoot and then again how well were they actually cleaning the shower area to begin with.
@@gmc07joe I don't remember the details of which limb she lost, my step dad was a trucker and he would tell me nasty sh** about being on the road and the things he has seen so after hearing all that information over the years I obviously question all truck stop showers and bathrooms among other things. Point is- people are Disgusting and you have to wear the proper safety protection 👍
@@IronBeast7 can’t agree with you more, always have slip ons even when I’m at home. Great advice especially in public areas were all the germs converge!
That is really useful info. Stuff that only a seasoned road warrior would know. Just goes to show that sometimes the short videos are the best!
Yeah..."road warrior"...
I wish EVERYONE knew how nice truckers are!!!
I'm a long-haul truck driver and I used loves all the time they're great
This is so true when I was on the road. I had a trucker donate a shower to me as well. I felt really bad and kept trying to pay him for it. Telling him there was no need... But he insisted. Yeah, there are still some nice people in the world.
Had never taken a truck stop shower until last summer. We were run out of our boondocking spot due to fires and holed up at a Pilot. BEST. SHOWER. EVER. Super clean, huge space, friendly people. Didn't know you could donate showers. Time to get my Pilot or Loves reward program going...
Get that out of your mind until you have 1000 gallons of diesel fuel purchased.
@@johngaither3830 or $5k worth of diesel. Whichever comes first! 🤣
As someone who's been trucking for over 2 decades now, ive given away so many showers i couldn't even possibly remember how many.
Not all truckers have available showers or haven't fueled yet to get shower credits for whatever reason.
I also remember getting a shower gifted to me when i first started trucking (because i lost my flying j coupon, back then you got a shower coupon) and the old trucker that gave it to me said
" a good shower can save a man's life out here"
I never forget those words.
From 2015 -2019, all my showers were at a truck stop... Pilot... it can get expensive... do the math... I was always greatful for those moments when the trucker behind me in line stepped up and offered to cover the cost of that shower. Thanks!
“And there’s no cameras!”
the camera hiding: *FINALLY I WIN*
Her love for showers is hilarious and it resonates with me lol
Showers at the truck stop are top notch!
Nikki , I hope your knee is getting better . I have been dealing with the same injury for about a year now . It sucks . You and Camper stay safe 🙏 . Keep giving us great videos 👍 .
Ugh it’s soooo tough! My next two videos starting Friday are all about the recovery - it’s been a wild one! Fast healing my friend!
Legit true story:
On the road the bathrooms are nasty so I would use my showers that accumulated, just to use a clean single bathroom if I had to do more than pee. They clean those showers better than the community bathroom.
I've definitely used a shower credit just to have a private bathroom
Yea depending on the situation for sure. Sometimes, and you know the times, where you can barely get the brake set and rush into the bathroom there is a line but no wait for a shower and best believe I’m using those credits on the private toilet lol
