I went to russia and CQC'd the shit out of grizzly bears instead.
I did one or two of those techniques when I was on high school and they worked man, specially when you’re facing a bigger guy
Jose Moreu the techniques are basically cut and paste judo. Image training from the game and actual training with my father is the reason why nobody dares to pick on me anymore.
In Indonesia we got Pencak Silat and i was reprimanded for suddenly changing techniques lmao

3:54 She throws a new move, he's entirely caught off guard and unable to counter.
They really did put effort into making the characters evolve in each cutscene.
Ocelot also evolves first he used 8 mag pistol then one revolver then two

Should also keep in mind that he most likely hadn't even considered that he'd have to kill his mentor. That would put anyone in doubt of his/hers abilities. Like he appeared like a punching bag in the stuff we saw, but that doesn't mean that's what happened when they created it.
You truly missed the core of the story in MGS3 if that's what you think. They developed it together, as a team. They loved each other deeply. Big boss had no idea she had defected for her country, and it was her mission to help Jack evolve into the man known as Big Boss, everytime he fought her he held back, he didn't want to kill her (hence holding on to and wearing her bandanna), through Operation Snake Eater, The Sorrow, and ultimatey building the courage and accepting the fact he would have to kill the woman whom he loved. He surpassed The Boss and became known as the greatest soldier in history... Big Boss
You can actually do unique CQC moves in the final fight with her by countering with the Circle button at just the right time. So you can kick her fuckin ass. Would have been cool to include in the video, though it wouldn't have been as cinematic.
The thing about the boss is that you can see a sense of sadness in her eyes every time she has to beat up snake . Or maybe guilt knowing she has to do this to remain under cover . It's just there you can see it and sense it

And there is also her namesake... Joy. She enjoys demonstrating her skills, almost in a sadistic way. That's one of the reasons she's so dangerous.
One thing I always loved about The Boss' fighting style, even compared to Snake's, is how effortless her movements are. She almost never kicks, nor does she ever use big moves, and she uses the minimum energy necessary to bring down her opponent. She is truly the most efficient killer and a real artist on the battlefield.
What's more she has a modified m16 cut to become a smg with infinite bullets that even big boss cannot use efficiently in a cqc situation.
This is why even after I had shot her in the head because the game made me...I didn't feel I won that fight. It felt as if she held back a lot.

It's interesting to see Snake get better at CQC as he gets into more CQC situations. Even if he developed it with the boss he improves. Slowly able to counter some of the bosses moves until eventually, the last fight.

Nag in every fight before the final boss Snake was holding back because he didnt want to hurt her, but every time he fought her he understood that killing her was his only choice.
I just realized The Boss threw Snake, a guy that’s about 6’3” and 216 lbs, over a bridge using one arm. She really deserved the title of Boss

The most badass moment is when she tackles Volgin and he doesn't even care, cool as fuck.
He probably respects her a lot and knows she could easily destroy him if she wanted. I think it's cool how she's probably the strongest character in the game, yet doesn't even have any powers.
There are a few times in the game Volgin clearly backs off, trying to be as nonthreatening/unoffending as as possible towards her. He did NOT want to mess with her.
Considering how easily she tossed him to the ground, he would have known she could easily crush him like a bug if she wanted to.
I mean, after seeing how easily he got thrown over in two seconds by Snake, and not 2 minutes later gets thrown again effortlessly by The Boss, you can tell he's aware that he would get destroyed even with his powers
Although no Metal Gear game is acceptable without Kojima, I think Konami’s biggest mistake was not doing a prequel story about The Boss. Instead they did _“zombies.”_

Phantom Pain simply lacks character development.
Eli and Quiet got development at the point where it was too late and you already fought them.
The man on fire had a silly "Boss battle" sadly(I expected so much more ) and Psycho Mantis didnt even fight with you he was just there to control the man on fire / sahelanthropus.
The rest of bosses were just zombies without character development, if anything, just marionettes
Not to forget skull face, the most disappointing villain in MGS history. Atleast put him in sahelanthropus we wanted to fight and kill him ourselfes

Man at 0:45 when snake grabs the boss but the looks in his eye is " what am I doing?? I don't wanna hurt my mentor..." its so touching and badass man it gives snake so much character that he's worried like that, still so innocent in a way.

What's so great about this concept with the Boss defeating Naked Snake is when you realize that Snake has managed to counter-attack the Boss's technique in certain points as the story goes on but not quite since her technique is still superior! Up to the point of course where the player has to fight with her and that's where theoretically the character has almost completely surpassed her in terms of technique... If the player don't suck though... XD Anyway, that was a great video nonetheless!

I get what your saying, but the final fight's CQC is based off of Snake improving and also knows that he has no choice but to kill the Boss. In previous CQC encounters you can see that he's holding back and not able to do much but as more fights came across he started to improve and have the will to not hold back.

You know, I definitely feel gypped that not only did Konami waste the opportunity to use true-to-life guns and military vehicles in MGSV, but they also wasted an opportunity for doing a game that revolved around The Boss’s exploits in WWII and the early days of the Cold War before the events of Snake Eater. #fuckkonami

The way I understand it, Snake didn't want to kill her but at the end he realized there was nothing he could do. He was forced to do so :(

I love how people think Big Boss was better in cqc when even he said she was better 😂😂
It depends really. Each Snake has their own strength to rely on. Big Boss focused on using handguns during Opt. Snake Eater. Meanwhile The Boss is doing regular CQC with the patriot, a shortened M16. By PW/GZ, BigBoss can execute power throws regardless of armament he is using but mostly unarmed. The Les Enfant Terribles has enhanced strength as super soldiers and Solid Snake is proficient enough to beat Gray Fox, even as a cyborg, in unarmed fight. Liquid is equal to Solid Snake but is even more durable than Snake. We never see Solidus fight with CQC and he has yet to fight outside his exoskeleton. And he's not trained in CQC like Solid was but given how Jack is a master Assassin, maybe he is really more about using blades.

Also, do you think Snake would've defected with The Boss, if he was able to, and given time to choose?
I think he inherited it all. That is why the Cobras feel satisfied after their defeat. Though, it would probably be both Joy and Sorrow that is most prevalent.

His and Cipher's love quarrel brought multiple major conflicts to the mgs world. If there is someone deserving a hug, it would either be Venom or Solid Snake.

None could beat the boss at 1 vs 1 even snake could t, she will always he the boss, after her deqd snake couldnt even had that awareness she had when she was under a caught mové of stick On a battle against snake, she was On another level of counter style cqc. Thats why she was the boss. Sad they not put a story off her in MGS5
