I work for the dealer that truck was purchased from, and coincidentally, grew up in the Swedesboro area as well, not far from where you're loading in this video. Saw you passing by on 283 a few days ago as well. Beautiful rig!
I was glad to hear there were fewer dislikes than likes! Glad, too that some of those issues were already resolved (like the one bunk window and Teddy’s door). Early on, it seemed like Teddy didn’t want to even rest that it was still so new and different for him. I’m happy to see him comfortable and relaxing..knowing this is his space now! Thank you for all your hard work! I love seeing Teddy. It’s nice that you’ve got a steady travel companion. Stay safe and God Bless!
@@CoolTaxiDriver Thank you Aunt Betty! 🥰 Definitely more “likes” than “dislikes” and yes, some of my (and Teddy’s) previous dislikes have been resolved 😁 I truly appreciate your support and comments!! God bless you! ❤️✝️
Teddy is such a handsome boy. He always seems to sit there patiently as you record your videos. Is he a playful pup or is he as serious as he always seem to look. Also I like the new touch of your brake knobs. For a while when the 589 first came out, I wasn't sure I liked the new look of the interior but the more and more I watch your videos, it is growing on me. Plus I like the fact that yours is a manual.
@@trucking_on_a_budget thank you! Yes Teddy is a VERY playful little fellow! He loves everyone and everything! Haha!! But he is a super good boy in the truck for me when I am driving 😁

Good Job❤

⛽️⛽️🍻🍻 Hey, I just thought I would check in and say hi. I hope you’re doing well. Looks like you’re driving in better environments. Stay focused like you do know how to do and I hope safe roads ahead of you for a long time to come. ⛽️⛽️⛽️
@@stickbogart3657 that is so nice of you to reach out and give such a nice comment, thank you! As I am writing this I am currently snowed in at a rest area in Montana since last night. Not sure when the roads will be okay for me to head out but I will definitely stay focused and safe. 😁😁🚛💨
I would definitely need a curtain for the front and side windows. The only thing that I have ever drove was a Cascadia Freightliner, a 2022 then got a 2025. They both came with the windshield curtain and the back curtain. Strange that a Peterbilt didn't.
Hey Lafonda and Teddy. Thanks for the good and the bad videos. Keep up the good work with sharing what life is as trucker. Your videos are awesome to watch. Plus thank you for feeding America. If not for the farmers and truckers we would be in a world of trouble. I am really thankful that I know both a trucker and a farmer who are sisters and they work very hard. Thanks again 😊
Some nice new bling for LaFonda, and yes, Teddy was certainly thinking treats were on the menu. It's hard to miss Teddy, he's the elephant in the room. It sounds like there are some problems that you will just have to grin and bear it, but as several other people mentioned, you should be able to get the Jake brake delay and the steering radius issues corrected. Thanks for the update and some over the road footage, liking that "Free Bird" feeling. I hope your long journey out West next week will be safe, enjoyable, and uneventful. I will be looking forward to a new video of the trip. Take care of yourself and Teddy and keep the shiny side up. AATW!
Thanks for the well wishes! And Teddy is the elephant in the room! 🤣🤣 I always try to get him in the picture frame but sometimes he includes himself 🤣🤣
Hi Lafonda, Watching your latest video on things you dislike about your Pete and one of them you listed was the loud turn signal noise. I was watching a couple on RUclips,, who have a tandem Volvo tractor that they tow their 5th wheel camper with and sure enough, their turn signal was about as loud as yours.
Turning radius is definitely a big issue, especially backing around a corner or into a tight space. I'll bet that those right turns are a real nightmare. As for the DEF, pretty much all the truckers hate it with a passion. Most of them delete it, even though it's illegal, but all the government diesel vehicles don't even have it, so even they know it's a problem.
I know! That’s crazy! Unfortunately my company can’t delete it because it will void the warranty 😒 maybe after the warranty is over they will consider it.
If you're interested Lisa to show steer axle wheel, park everything, hood open to see clearance between tire and steering box and linkage angles when max out right turn, that steer box would be in the way for more adjustments. It didn't appear to be that bad 1.24 when you made right hand turn, don't know if you were at maximum.
I had a low beam default come up on dash in my '23 w9 one morn.....freaked me out.....and to top it off....they both went out..... I had high beams.....i pushed in my selector button for the info "center" in and they came back on..... happened one other time.....go figure.....had to super glue my parking brake labels also😅
The Jake brake setting can be changed. I think we set ours at a 1/4 of a second. The steering can be adjusted. Send it back to be done properly. They have to set something in the gearbox or get you a new gearbox…
The engine broke delay is a Cummins thing, my Freightliner has a Cummins and the same delay, the steering is probably miss adjusted steering stops your shop can set them, Take care be safe 👍👍
You can have the jake brake delay changed to whatever delay you want. I really don't understand the giant windshields. During twilight hours I can't get away from the sun if I'm heading east-west.
@@lylesommers5018 I don’t take it as an insult…the best truck I ever had was a Western Star with a Detroit engine.
