Satyendra Nath Tagore was the first person to qualify ICS in 1864. As a result the Britishers reduced the marks of Indian language papers which were increased in 1860 only.
The old name of University of Lucknow was Canning College.
Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was the "Father of Bengali Prose", He wrote "borno porichoy" which simplify Bengali studies and helps children to learn Bengali grammar till now.

Besides please read summary box of spectrum (given at the end of each chapter) and its last 10-15 pages for prelims. If you need more conceptual clarity, then read Bipin Chandra (that much clarity is not required for GS).
