It's actually a '90 model 1100L, some were built from around September '89 not on sale until éarly '90, it's a slingshot, not a bloody slabbie. BTW, the swingarm doesn't look extended to me, they were a bit longer than the '89 K model as standard, maybe 50-60mm from memory and the brake torque arm hasn't been modified which indicates it is standard, just braced and polished.
The pipe is a Vance and Hines Sidewinder... for obvious reasons.

You are correct - it is a 90 model. You can tell via the paint stripping. The 89 had solid lines on the top fairing. Good catch. And I think it's not the OEM swing arm. Still looks amazing.

I just started following you, beautiful garage! love the gixxer!
I definitely know the feeling to well of wasting hours, traveling & fuel on pointless trips to get to the destination, and NOT being to happy once getting there lol..
But, about 1 month ago i drove to NY from Massachusetts & purchased a 1990 I'm currently putting some love into it, with same blue & white color scheme.. But, Im so sick of searching for a decent rear cowl. Yours is beautiful & perfect! But anyways, would you happen to know of a legit place of business I can reach out too that can maybe help me out? I honestly don't care what color I find at this point, it could be pink for all I care lol. I'm just tired of the shady online characters. If you could help a brother out with maybe a link, I would i highly appreciate it. If not, no worries. Thank you anyways for reading my long comment lol🙏

The carbs on the bikes were called "Slingshots". If you know anything these particular carbs you'll find out they don't do with with Ethanol fuels. You'll wind up swapping them out for a set or RS from Mikuni.

Best year. I noticed the "slingshot" carbs are gone replaced with RS-36? I had the same bike but a 750 - did a full restore - enjoyed it. Had it up to 155 a few times - enjoyed it. 38...yes..that makes sense...since it's a 1100.

Cool bike, typical of a short wheelbase bike. I have a yamaha mt10 and I know I could lay down some pretty respectable 1/4mi times if I didn't have to waste all of 1st and 2nd gear by short shifting to keep front end down. Best so far was a 11.04 but it took me like 6 runs to do that. Beautiful bikes!
