  • Vegetable soups and stews are a favourite in the Vipava Valley. In addition to the “jota” stew, which is made from fermented turnips (“repa tropinka”), there is also a soup called “šelinka” that is made from celery root and leaves. When it’s cold outside, the comforting soup is traditionally paired with cooked sausage for a filling meal.
