Ethiopian Air-force was out of game when Eritrean Air-forces hit Mekele Airport and bombed nine MiG 21 and 23. And three transport planes arriving there. Remember the then US President Clinton warned Eritrea to stop bombing Ethiopian towns and cities like Mekele and Axum. While Ethiopia was the first one to bomb Asmara on 6th May 1998. It was the time that an Ethiopian pilot colonel Bezabeh Petros was recaptured by the Eritrean Anti Air defense force Units.
The Eritrean Air Force didn't get a single air victory in the entire war. When it hit Mekelle Airport, it only inflicted very slight damage on the Ethiopian planes and they were quickly repaired. That is no air victory and complete incompetence. Eritrea's air force did so poorly in this war and PFDJ propaganda can't vindicate the painful truth. It was mostly because of Isaias' arrogant and intransigent leadership that led to this mess.
Hello! Several factors. They were mostly launched from maximum ranges, often at low flying targets. It is also possible that Ukrainians sold Eritrea some of the older stock whose remaining shelf life was not long.
Some Ethiopian war planes were shot down and one Helicopter mysteriously captured by Eritrean forces. The Ethiopian best pilot was captured for his second time
You have a good heart .they don't this is 10%of the story even UNHCR tent were hit with claster bombs at that time only couple countries had0su27 this poor countries find away and money to buy them
I had no idea about this war, maybe you can recreate what happened in my country in 1969 the last air to air dogfight between piston engine aircraft, F4U vs FG-1D
There wasn't much focus on a conflict between two poor Third World countries without oil. We don't have the Corsair yet but there should be the module released soon. If I find enough details, it could be done someday.
would'nt be surprised if most of the missiles sold by the arms dealers were expired or closed to that, hence the abysmal performance...also add tot that inadequate time to train the pilots
All of the equipment used i the war was rather old. Even the one they purchased during the conflict. There were reliability issues with missiles too but there was certainly not enough training for both sides. Ethiopia had an advantage there, having experienced pilots. Some eve trained by USA in their youth.

Ass face how in the heck he is traitor. He put out your Air Force out of commission for decades lol he defended Ethiopia 🇪🇹 from all enemies foreign or domestic
At the start of the war, I believe Ethiopia didn't have a well functioning air force. The air force was practically none existent. They had to call up disbanded Derg fighters. It was an embarrassing situation. The same with ground forces. They had to call up disbanded Derg fighters. They however built up the ground forces and the air force quickly. There was a lul in fighting I believe for 2 year when both Ethiopia and Eritrea armed themselves. Ethiopia was better positioned to arm themselves while Eritrea built defensive fortifications along the border. The fortifications were costly in terms of the number of lost soldiers on the Ethiopian side.
Sim mission: pinpoint strike on enemy airbase involving destruction of most of the parked aircraft in dramatic strafing runs and epic dogfight with scrambled defenders Real mission: two Aeromacchis sprinkle an airbase with bullets ineffectually and two more accidentally bomb a school
Vrlo vjerojatno je da trenutno imaju problema s održavanjem avijacije. U ovom ratu su imali mali broj aviona ali zanimljivo je koliko su dobro uspjeli iskoristiti četiri laka trenažera.
Eritrea can exist because of slave work and refugees who fled from Slave work and send money home. People in Europe think they "fought for independence" and such stuff. Eritrea was italian colony for 50 years. Based on that, the Afwerki-junta manipulated the population, making them believe it's an own country

Oops this uploaded three hours ago and I am looking for part two.
The second part is not done yet 😁
@@showtime112 I just made a point how exciting are your videos.
@@antimimoniakos It's fine, I was just joking.
How on earth does one confuse a school building for an airbase?
I wouldn't say it was a matter of confusion. Rather a bad aim.
Hi showtime do you know why did so many Times mig 29 missed in this conflict
Hello! Several factors. They were mostly launched from maximum ranges, often at low flying targets. It is also possible that Ukrainians sold Eritrea some of the older stock whose remaining shelf life was not long.
@@showtime112 that is the exact answer
Some Ethiopian war planes were shot down and one Helicopter mysteriously captured by Eritrean forces. The Ethiopian best pilot was captured for his second time
Amazes me how these guys can’t hit the broadside of a barn when it comes to military targets but they can nail schools and hospitals.
You have a good heart .they don't this is 10%of the story even UNHCR tent were hit with claster bombs at that time only couple countries had0su27 this poor countries find away and money to buy them
To be honest i thought this would be so much cooler than this
So, what exactly did you expect?
what was the rule of engagement that the ethiopian mig 21 pilot violated?
Making multiple passes against the same target.
the ethiopian air force favory figjter yhe mig-23-flogger d. for air to ground attack.
True. They I think at some point they had about 100 of them.
I just started the video and I don't know who to cheer for.......
Perhaps you don't need to...

Good point.
Especially with the happenings in the Middle East in the last 4 days.
Nobody's going to win.
Not regular people.
would'nt be surprised if most of the missiles sold by the arms dealers were expired or closed to that, hence the abysmal performance...also add tot that inadequate time to train the pilots
All of the equipment used i the war was rather old. Even the one they purchased during the conflict. There were reliability issues with missiles too but there was certainly not enough training for both sides. Ethiopia had an advantage there, having experienced pilots. Some eve trained by USA in their youth.
Petros is not living now. Since he is POW twice they killed him. I do the same.
Haha the Mig23 model is atm one of the worst! Like always, great video.
Can't wait for the proper module! Thanks for the comment!

Not to be picky, but it is spelled ordnance, not ordinance. I served in the military for the Navy and that was my job.

The last Helicopter...did they know that they were shot at by that fixed wing??
It's unclear. It probably didn't have a proper RWR gear. The crew might have seen the missile.
Eritrean pilot should have used SNEBs or CBU on those parked aircraft. If they even had them.
The second aircraft actually carried cluster bombs but missed the parked aircraft. They landed somewhere near the runway. But in DCS, MB-339 can't carry clusters, only standard bombs so I used those.
@Showtime112 Mogao bi obraditi i neki od letova Orlova 99te. O tome nema u drugim dokumentarcima jer ih nisu presretali a tebi baš leže manje poznate stvari.
Ako naletim na neke detalje, moguće je.
Background music it's on point - you need black pilots to complete the picture.
Right. Maybe some of DCS World skinners are reading this and can release a skin for African pilots?
the traitor Bzabeh Petros got his punishment, as for the second time came to distoy to the people who treated him with dignity when he was arrested during the struggle for infependence.
That sounds roughly right.
Su-27 Vs MiG-29..................i talk about this.................is comming!!!!!

In ERitrea still now there is no Air Force Pilot at all.
Good Animation
During ERitrea vs Ethiopia 1998 -2000, Eritrea all Fighter Jets destroyed by Ethiopian Airforce. No one Eritrea Air Force flying over at all.
Not true
thanks
Sim mission: pinpoint strike on enemy airbase involving destruction of most of the parked aircraft in dramatic strafing runs and epic dogfight with scrambled defenders
Real mission: two Aeromacchis sprinkle an airbase with bullets ineffectually and two more accidentally bomb a school
Some other channels might go for option A 😁
nice

Who help a children because I Pass hundred and I Go learnd School They making confusion because this inot have honest.
Eritrea can exist because of slave work and refugees who fled from Slave work and send money home. People in Europe think they "fought for independence" and such stuff. Eritrea was italian colony for 50 years. Based on that, the Afwerki-junta manipulated the population, making them believe it's an own country

Love the MiG-23/27
Not one of the most successful fighters, but an interesting history for sure. Once the MiG-23 is released for DCS, I will definitely give it some attention.
@@showtime112 Well , they were successful in that there were a good number built (5000+) and exported and they were used extensively but finding accurate numbers of losses and victories is difficult as always when dealing with Soviet Union/Russian combat records. I just like how “cluttered” and angular they look.. kinda awkward looking..probably kinda awkward performing as well.( couldn’t turn with a MiG -21) Love this channel
