Holy shit, an actual good tutorial on RUclips. Make more videos
Excellent! Very helpful. Now I I'm not quite so leary about doing this myself. Thank you!
Totally helpful. Replaced all four with rebuilds that I did. Big help on knocking these out on the front!!
Damn they made it look so easy and fast. But I bet once I'll start doing it, it will take more than 5 min, more like 5hrs🤣
Always that one nut or bolt that turns a hour task into a 2 day ordeal lol
Just a heads up, they didn’t mention disconnecting the sway bar. I’m assuming this truck didn’t have his connected (some people don’t like them) but if you don’t disconnect the sway bar you’ll have a harder time getting the strut out.
His sway bar is still connected. You don't need to touch it honestly.
If you have one side lifted only definitely need it disconnected. If on a lift both sides are equal and don't need to disconnect it.
Whoop, there it is! Easy peezy!
Do you Nascar pit on the weekends? Damn that was fast!
AWESOME QUICK AND TOO THE POINT ! I'LL BE DOING THIS SOON, SO NO SPRING COMPRESSOR NEEDED I SEE.
Some shop is charging me $900 bucks to remove all 4 on my Gen1. Is it really this easy?!?! Please educate me.
Awesome! I think I'll give this a go! I wish I had a nice lift though lol
at 3:30 the lower control arm is being held up by the break line then he pushes it down further to remove the strut. Made me cringe!
Great video!
Just one question, how do you remove the coil if it’s sitting on mid-perch?
Thanks
Can you remove the spring that same way if it is setup on the mid perch? Or do you need to compress the spring first?
how did you get so much room to access the back nut on the top. I could get maybe 3 clicks at most with the ratcheting wrench with almost no room for my hands
Awesome thanks!
Don't mind those lines "fully drooped" also..
Say high to Jeff for me..
You totally knocked it out quick. I thought that spring was loaded with tension? Thanks for the great video I’ve got some work to do!
My raptor has 190 thousand miles on it and I want to get my shocks rebuild but how much is the pricing the sides are a little coroded
Good vid!
Why is a spring compressor not needed, and did you use one when installing the spring?
No you dont take the axel nut off
If the spring is on the mid perch, can you still just move the top nut to remove the spring? Or will there be too much preload?
You can still remove the top nut, the preload is minimal but we always recommend pointing the shock away from you for safety.
@@matthewmontes3488 thank you!
Are you on mid or low perch?
Spring rate on these stock raptors?
Have u taken apart the gen 2 shocks yet?
Forged Offroad do they follow similar rebuild procedure as the gen 1??
Excellent, easy to follow video! I have a 2011 Raptor and all 4 shocks need replacing. My question is: What is "mid perch" and how do I set the front shocks/springs so the truck stance is evened out front to back? Thanks in advance!
What are the pros and cons of the mid-perch vs the stock lower perch? Thanks!
If I have mine set to mid perch will I need to compress the spring before removing it from the shock? Or can I still just set it on the floor with my foot on it and impact the nut off?
Im wondering the same thing..
@@xtermnation7654 mid perch you need a spring compressor it’s under an inch of tension
Its de same front ang rear shock
I'll pay somebody to do it for me.
Goodbye ball joints
Amado Chalhoub Doubt it hurt anything.
You guys are sending me my shocks in about a week..can’t wait to see the difference with all the add ons
