I just picked up my GSX-R1000R. The suspension, tuning, and the quick shift make a heck of a difference. I hope you get to ride one soon. It doesn't need many mods. I have to dial in the suspension, the exhaust (of course), and tank grips. Ya, a little reflash will make a world of difference. To me, the tank tank grips are important. I'm leaning on the front a little too much and a set of grips will take the pressure off and help the handling characteristics. I really like this bike. A lot. Good review. Rubber side down.
I found, because of the shape of the tank and where my legs/knees are positioned, I had to cut a 3 piece grip. I used piece of snake skin grip material. It's some pretty sticky stuff. When I put them on, the bike instantly became an amazing twisty machine.
I brought a 2018 gsxr 1000R home two days ago. It's the best machine I've ever owned. I'm extremely grateful for having it. Absolute beast and comfortable locked in. Sounds like nothing else
So is it more relaxed like a Ninja 1000 league or as nimble as a BMW S1000RR? I would like to know more since here I have no way of checking the bike out physically yet.
It's a direct competitor to the S1000RR and is kicking ass in endurance racing and MotoAmerica. It's not going to be a heavy old relaxed bike like the Ninja.
The rider ergonomics on all of the superbikes are much more committed than the Ninja 1000 or other sport-oriented sport-touring bikes. Check out cycle-ergo(dot)come for actual data.
Good day Adam, I especially love how you break down the specs and capabilities of these bikes. Spectacular in every way. However today I have a heavy heart after learning of the demise of the lady vlogger after being thrown off her bike while negotiating a corner at 80 mph (according to reports). I checked out one of her vloggs and incidentally a subscriber had two months prior, warned her about the same stretch of road that took her life. And that's why I'm writing this. I don't know if you already do this but I know you have at heart the same concern about the safety of your subscribers and all riders at large. I would like to see more emphasis given to the safety specs as well. Just a suggestion bro, you could maybe inform us on things like why the tyres are the way they are (the type and the safety thereof, the treads, non treads, thickness 120 front 180 back etc), rev limits, the purpose of inverted shocks vs upright shocks, the brakes! ABS & non ABS versions, you know the drill bro. This is so that above just exciting prospective buyers on the speeds and the quick shifters et al, they may also know the things that will make the difference between life and the here after. It will never be worth it if the investment in a motorcycle only leaves one with life long injuries or even absent bread winners just because of adrenaline rush. It ain't worth it. I hope I have helped in even the smallest of way. You have the platform bro. You could even bring on board staff members of these manufacturers to break down these safety features for us if you have that leverage. Just this added responsibility will be great and who knows how many lives will have been spared in this way! Oh and another thing, a lot of us could also benefit with some hands on driving skills that I know wasn't given in schools. This could be another potential grey area for a lot of new riders. Again bro, only suggestions. Thanks and stay on top!
The only thing that puts me off Suzuki bikes is the debate about how they have the most problems out of all Japanese brands. Especially electrical problems which imo is a huge pain in the ass.
NOOBRIDERR Really? I've had 2 GSXR 750s, I have a 2009 GSX-R 600 and a 2008 GSX-R 1000, and I haven't had any electrical problems. The only problem I've had was on the 600 - the spring that holds up the kickstand started to lose tension, but that had an inexpensive, easy fix.
NOOBRIDERR I haven't ridden one, but the R6 gets a lot of admiration. It's pretty track focussed from the factory, though, so it's not the ideal setup for streets. Then again, the supersport category isn't the absolute best for street riding. I've also tried the CBR 600RR and I didn't really like the ergonomics of it. The RSV4, though, is a pretty sweet ride even for the street...I just don't think the seat height is really practical (for many riders) for traffic/stop lights, but the ergonomics and ride quality make up for that. Same to you, btw, I hope your R6 treats you well.
Honest review ADAM 1CE AGAIN... Owner of GSX-R 1000 R & S 1000 RR OLD FASHIONED , ENVIABLE MIDRANGE & LOW END PUNCH AS WELL AS TORQUEY MACHINES & GREAT SOLID GEARBOXES.. MEN BIKE... CBR 1000 RR & ZX - 10 RR VERY SMOOTH & CIVILISED BIKE .... BOYS BIKE..
Adam, another stellar review. I love this bike & wish I could afford one but I'm still very happy on my 07 gsxr 750. 24,000 trouble free miles. I love your comments on street riding, my cruiser buddies just don't get it but at 55 yrs old nothing comes close to the gsxr for me. Look forward to more reviews!
I am 62, and can afford it. I am tired of my dinasaur 1972 GT750, and cashed my 7 figure IRA in , I never got married.. and have no wife to tell me what to do.... kids either... any ideas??? I follow Cyclecruisa on here... and am thinking about a CBR1000 also... with a comfort kit, and alpha T Yoshi pipe........
What's up Max - sorry for the late reply. If I was going to purchase a new GSX-R I'd for sure spring the extra $2500 for the 'R-R' model. I think I talk about that in the previous video we did from the racetrack. Did you watch it? Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/aEe60AHxLQg/видео.html
I heard and loved your interview on the Two Enthusiasts Podcast. Definitely enjoyed this review as well. Hope you find yourself on the podcast again! 👍
I like to put it in B mode through the city in a mode it's Twitchy makes the gearbox clunky but b or c and it feels smooth like a 600 love the bike makes you feel really confident
another great review by adam. this man covers everything, down to the smallest details. track review street review. the gsxr 1k is officially covered from a-z by adam waheed.
OK< i'm old.... I had a 1987 GSXR 1100 & a 1989 GSXR 1100....... loved them both. wish I would of kept both. I'm a HD aka Hog guy now. These bones don't bend these days..But I can only imagine the dam speed & handling the offer today. Kids ride safe, SHIT happens quick. I miss slicing air....now I eat bugs and notice more road side attractions.,which were all a blur back in the Gixer days. Amazing bikes ,stay safe, and keep the shiny side up !
i really like youre review ! you go deeper than allother and you know your reviewing bike heheh keeep doing such a great job like this adam 👍👍👍👍 A quebec canada Subs! and fan too !!
I enjoyed this review a great deal. I wonder if they'll revise the GSXR 750 any time soon. If not the 1000 is a really good price and a lot of bike for the money. Looks great in red too
Hi Dustin - yes, Suzuki hosted its press introduction for the 2017 base GSX-R1000 in Austin, Texas following the MotoGP race this past April. That's great that you are planning on purchasing one - they are great road bikes. Let us know what you think of it after you get some miles under your belt.
Adam, I love your Arai helmet that you wore on the track and want to purchase the same one. Is it custom, or do I have the opportunity to buy it? If so, can you please tell me the design. Also, I really love the gear you wear on both the track and the road. Being a new rider, I don't have much gear. It would mean so much if you could go over what you're wearing so I can purchase the same or similar pieces and not buy things that I'm not going to be completely satisfied with. I know I'm asking a lot, but it would mean so much to me. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
What's up Sam? Thanks for the props on that. Tag over at Tagger Design (phone no. 951-674-8000) did a bang up job on that. He's got a talent that I could never have. Yeah man, this is a custom-painted Arai Corsair-X helmet. I checked in with him and he can paint you one like this or with different colors for around $650. You supply the helmet. His work comes out best on gloss black, but gloss white is okay too. Try to avoid a matte finish to start from. And if you need a Corsair-X, you can purchase one here: www.jakewilson.com/p/4688/57939/Arai-Corsair-X-Motorcycle-Helmet Thanks for the comment and for watching - we'll see ya on the next one.
What's up man? I would buy a S 1000 RR for general street use. Would try to buy a 2015 or newer model without the DDC suspension package, if I could find one. But if I couldn't find one or it was too expensive, that base GSX-R1000 wouldn't be a bad choice.
Adam Waheed thanks for the response yes I remember an old S1000R review you did where you were not fond of the DTC. Great news tho as a 2015 S1000rr is much cheaper #winning. Keep up the reviews your doing great work
Yeah it was the DDC specifically on the single-R. The RR's version is actually very good for street riding - the only time it doesn't work good is when you're really getting after it at the track. If there was a savings for the mechanical suspension then I'd get that, as once I find my set-up it usually stays. But if you can't find it, or it is the same price as the RR DDC, then I'd choose the DDC.
Hi - that's a great question. Yeah, it was a tad bit more buzzy than I remember with the old bike, but certainly not bad. Maybe like 5-10% more buzzy -- so it's not a deal breaker IMOP.
Nice to know. I guess since engines are usually assembled with assembly-line parts selection, each engine doesn't get blueprinted for the most optimal and perfect crankshaft and rotating equipment balance. Whatever piston and rod and pin and bearings they select is what it gets. They are very good, but not perfect. One modification I've read about that people do with high performance upgrades is balance each piston/rod/pin +/- a gram per crankshaft journal to achieve ultimately more HP output and less stress on parts. Vibration robs power from the rear wheel.
Riders Domain, How tall are you, your inseam ? Reason why ? I , like many others are taller than the norm, that would like to have something that does not need to be modified to fit.
Well, I have a soft spot in my heart for the GSX-R750. It's probably my all-time favorite sportbike ever made -- even though it is pretty long in the tooth at this point. GSX-R750s are cool because they offer 600cc-like handling with a bit more mid-range and top-end, with virtually no weight penalty.
Adam Waheed ok that makes sense and it will be my first bike !! I’m like you I have always love the different iterations of the GSXR. Now is about time to own one
And soon the 400cc segment too if Kawasaki's latest move is any indication where the "small" displacement sport segment is going. Would be cool to see the GSX250R bumped up a bit at some point in the future, but it's a pretty solid bike for its class though.
I think performance can be taken a few different ways. My take is that Suzuki developed the 250 to be more of an beginner machine/urban commuter than a well-balanced "performance" motorcycle in the class. In that respect, the larger fuel capacity, longer wheelbase, roomier cockpit, intuitive and easy-to-use controls, stiff-ish suspension and mellower power delivery (compared to some of its segment rivals) all make it pretty well suited for managing lower speed rides on beat-up surface streets. And that's not to say it doesn't deliver some fun in the higher revs in the twisties, in the hands of more experienced riders. I think in a comparison against other small-bore sportbikes it clearly falls short, but on it's own it serves a purpose and is a pretty well-refined package all around.
I rode a 2016 Bandit 1250. Beautiful machine and engine. Too bad they discontinued it. Hope for a future overhaul using the same engine. I rode just about everything Suzuki makes the last couple years at demo rides. Because I'm not biased like that. Adam....any chance we can see a 2018 V-Strom 1000 on this channel? I appreciate the good well-rounded knowledgeable reviews. It's nice to have a journalist who's familiar with the market needs and also the aftermarket trends in mods. Stock bikes often don't stay that way. Good indication of what's baked into the new stuff that often only takes a few dollars and a little knowledge to unlock.
id start with a used bike then dude. Don't get brand new. Unless you know this already. You being young, insurance companies aren't gonna go easy on you lol.
I just picked up my GSX-R1000R. The suspension, tuning, and the quick shift make a heck of a difference. I hope you get to ride one soon. It doesn't need many mods. Hi - good to know - let us know if you need any help selecting a set of tank grips. Thanks for watching and the comment. Enjoy your new GSX-R1000R.
you can install a quickshifter if u want bro... ;)
Does it help in landing a girlfriend? I was thinking of buying one so the chicks would like me better. I've got a lot of cash.............
I found, because of the shape of the tank and where my legs/knees are positioned, I had to cut a 3 piece grip. I used piece of snake skin grip material. It's some pretty sticky stuff. When I put them on, the bike instantly became an amazing twisty machine.

Great explanation of its technology. I'm also a fan of the GSX-R mold - Suzuki makes great bikes.
The only thing that puts me off Suzuki bikes is the debate about how they have the most problems out of all Japanese brands. Especially electrical problems which imo is a huge pain in the ass.

Yamaha made the R1 exclusively for the track...and made one of the best track bikes. Suzuki gsxr you can use for the street and circuit too.

Yeah those are solid rides for sure. Feed 'em brake pads and tires and you are good to go. A new clutch pack makes it feel like a new bike too, fyi.
I am 62, and can afford it. I am tired of my dinasaur 1972 GT750, and cashed my 7 figure IRA in , I never got married.. and have no wife to tell me what to do.... kids either... any ideas??? Great review Adam. Just got mine a week ago. Tips effortlessly into corners. Love it!
great review even though i ride a zx10r i like this bike a lot, suzuki does make great bikes
Yup, Ninja's are sick too.
gsxr fans and zx10r fans seem to like each other bikes, honda and ducati riders seem to think there the best brands in world, nobody close
ps ive a zx10r and a gsxr 1000
Hi adam i planing to buy suzuki gsx R 1000R what your opinion ? I need ur advice

Hi there adam its ok i understand... no never i didnt .i will watch ur link which u send to me i back to you soon thank you .
why there is motorcycle installed on that exhaust?
Haha.
It reduces injury to the exhaust by 95%!
Because they didn't put a malignant tumor beneath the bike. A slip-on on this new bike eliminates a lot more than a slip-on on other superbikes.
that's why ya get a tune with it
YUP.
I heard and loved your interview on the Two Enthusiasts Podcast. Definitely enjoyed this review as well. Hope you find yourself on the podcast again! 👍

GSX-R750 will be coming soon. Probably this year or next. It's been a while so it will be nice to see an update.
Can you guys do reviews on older bikes? maybe the 2015 zx10r vs the 2016 model?
Roadtoad rivara I agree it would be cool to compare the old with the new especially gen 4 ZX10r vs gen 5
Hey brother that’s awesome your here In Austin Texas, you live here, this is the bike I’m going to be getting soon is Suzuki 1000
Riders Domain that’s awesome I’m going to be getting the Suzuki 1000 in matte Black
Why now all blackout the chasis frame, the bike would look a lot better with just metal colour frame and swing arm
Could you tell me if uve ridden the S1000rr and is the new Gixxer more comfortable than the bmw ! Nice review
What's up? Yes, I have ridden the S 1000 RR. I'd say the GSX-R1000 is a bit more cozy than the S 1000 RR but not by much.
Another great review Adam!
Sweet man - glad you liked it.
Nice street review! but is there any possibility that riders domain will have a street review video on Yamaha R1 / R1S / R1M?
FCA70
exactly I want the same...
yamaha r1 definitely is a darn good looking supersportbike..
FCA70 they do have a review on the r1s
Hi Vikram Bharati ...yea..i did watched it already..nice review..so in love with yamaha R1..especially it cool looking..
It sucks for the street. What more do you need to know?
I believe you overestimate Grandma's ability but great video!
And if you need a Corsair-X, you can purchase one here: www.jakewilson.com/p/4688/57939/Arai-Corsair-X-Motorcycle-Helmet
Thanks for the comment and for watching - we'll see ya on the next one.
Thank you so much bud! I really appreciate it!
Anytime - let me know how it goes...
is this better than the k5?if so by how much
Adam if you were spending your own money for one bike for street would you buy 1) R1 , 2) S1000rr, 3) standard Fireblade or 4) GSXR1000R?
But if you can't find it, or it is the same price as the RR DDC, then I'd choose the DDC.
makes my 2006 ageing 1200 bandit look like cat's toy...drooling about its unique vvti SYSTEM
Adam....do you feel the removal of an engine counter-balance shaft added some annoying vibes?
Gsxr awesome machine.. 👍
Riders Domain,
Thank You
What it’s does have a quick shifter on 1000R Suzuki
Riders Domain,
How tall are you, your inseam ?
Reason why ? I , like many others are taller than the norm, that would like to have something that does not need to be modified to fit.
Hi Kevin - the rider in this video has a 32-inch inseam he says.
Nice review, thanks bud!
Great review. Thanks :)
Glad you enjoyed it - make sure you check out the other part from the circuit.
Hey how would you say the Gsxr 750 stacks up against this Gsxr 1000?
Well, I have a soft spot in my heart for the GSX-R750. It's probably my all-time favorite sportbike ever made -- even though it is pretty long in the tooth at this point. GSX-R750s are cool because they offer 600cc-like handling with a bit more mid-range and top-end, with virtually no weight penalty.
Adam Waheed So I’m really trying to decide which to go with a GSXR 1000 or GSXR 750..
I'd look around for a 2011 or newer GSX-R750 and buy that. You can get a clean one that's lightly used for seven or eight grand.
Adam Waheed ok that makes sense and it will be my first bike !! I’m like you I have always love the different iterations of the GSXR. Now is about time to own one
Adam Waheed I’ve read that Suzuki will be bringing a new GSX-R750 (along with a new Hayabusa) in 2019.
dyno have shown how that bike is restricted to 160hp@10800rpm and above in north america
in europe it put out 180hp at the back wheel
sural89 since when i knew there is a fuel cut off for speed not hp.
Why don't American bikes get led turn indiacators....like in Europe and Asia ??
Thanks, excellent review..
MOVING SALE! MAKE AN OFFER ON ANY PART HERE 4ACP.com
Great review, thanks
Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Suzuki is missing big time in the 300 cc segment! I can only imagine what this finesse in a 300 cc would be like👌👌🙌
And soon the 400cc segment too if Kawasaki's latest move is any indication where the "small" displacement sport segment is going. Would be cool to see the GSX250R bumped up a bit at some point in the future, but it's a pretty solid bike for its class though.
Riders Domain thanks bro. But the 250 is trashed a lot for its weight that affects every other aspects of performance... What you think?
Riders Domain thanks for this heads up
Anytime, thanks for watching!
i like the old tail more
we need a 2017 ZX10R Street review
Hi - it is coming soon - thanks for tuning-in and the comment.
What's up sir - we are working on the above right now...

Bruh, why are you copying my helmet (Valkrie)
u can check out my 2017 gsxr 1000 on my page... I got it flash/tuned, ecu unlock, woolich q/s- autoblipper, stock filter, full Yoshi exhaust.. 194hp.
Awesome - that's cool. Yeah figured you could un-cork 'em pretty easily.
Start with the right year of th bike when speaking about it

Hi bro
Nah, I'll keep my 07 bandit thanks!
Fair enough - how many miles you have on the clock?
2017 not 2016.
when i turn 16 i AM getting one
id start with a used bike then dude. Don't get brand new. Unless you know this already. You being young, insurance companies aren't gonna go easy on you lol.
Or check out Suzuki's GSX250R - ride that for six months, master it, then sell it and upgrade.
I came for the stunning thumbnail...
