I rarely leave a comment but I wanted to make a small suggestion for the library in that you leave space under the windows for reading nooks! Coming from an avid reader who loves the comfort of natural light 😊
I have seen on another channel that a gut is rebuilding a chateau in France and he uses a machine that can plane off the edge so the wood can set into the steel. You only have to take off one edge on the same ends. Not sure if that makes sense but the other channel is escape to rural France.
The floor joists you bought look wonderful. So straight and square. In the US, you would’ve spent hours sorting through a huge stack of crooked warped boards to come up with what you bought. And you bought them out! So they all looked like that! Amazing. And a comparable price too.
Great effort Phil. With all you are doing at your place, getting over to help at the convent is a mark of true friendships. It's so nice to see, when other parts of the world are so different. Well done guys.
I wouldn't miss a video, even if they were 30 seconds long...but it will be great to have Alex back with longer ones...and you guys will get more done. Exciting! ❤🇺🇸
I think having the hallway moved to the back is better, especially for safety. If there's a fire, the fire brigade can rescue through various windows instead of people trying to rush down a dark corridor.
Billy I have found your double / twin on RUclips . ‘Flawless Cleaning Services ‘. He’s a lovey guy who helps to pressure clean or does garden clearance usually for the elderly who can’t cope or afford the work. All for free thanks to people sponsoring on RUclips. He also works with his father and it’s becoming additive viewing 😂😂. He reminds me of you for being kind and caring . 😍
You have come so far in the convent. When you stand in the kitchen it is so beautiful. Everything about it, from the windows, to the cabinets, center island etc, is stunning and now the library, the hall, dining room….Amazing!!! ❤
Personal opinion here. I would finish off the dining room before the hallway. Yes get doors in and make it water tight and rodent proof. But to bring in construction material through a finished hall or nearly finished library may prove a challenge. May save the hall for last so you don’t build yourself into a corner.
You're awesome in multiple ways, Billy. Nick and Jenny report that, since your Moon mention in the carriage episode, they've acquired over 2K more subscribers!
Great job Phil for doing most of the welding so that Billy can get the rest done. If anything ever happens that hash tag is going in one big piece. This is going up and it is one step closer to completion. How exciting!! Have a great day
I can't help recalling when you first cleared all the brush away and added lights. Early morning/evening was so beautiful. Episodes since have been worthy. The library is so exciting. What could top it? Maybe a restored chapel. I think we owe Gwen a 'bigly' thanks for supporting you on all this. Again, so beautiful.
@ThePethericks It will be worth the wait when we finally see the end result. It's already an amazing space and it will be absolutely stunning once you all put your hands on it.
Billy - all your planning and buying equipment, assembling a great team - is paying off ! This library is so well designed, it’s going to be amazing ❤. You won’t know what to do with yourself some day in the future when this convent is completely renovated, updated and generating residual income for you !!! Dreams of a favorite vacation spot????
How does this channel not have 1million subs by now? Really enjoyed watching this whole project since the beginning. Keep up the amazing work and thanks for bringing us along, Billy!
I have not checked in with you in a while and the finished kitchen looks fantastic! The library project seems well on course and will be so nice when it is finished. Well done, you!
Billy, I have a question. All these projects in the works but I have not seen any project to put toilets in on the ground floor. Toilets in convenient locations are extremely important. So you have a kitchen, a hall, a diningroom, a library but where do people go to the toilet?
I remember plans mentioned, to have toilets put in left, after entering towards the part that sits before the library. So enter.into hallway, kitchen to the right, left to the gigantic room where the second half is being turned into library. At least that is what I remember. But as we all know, plans can change 😊
I love watching the convent progress!! I have been checking out Phil’s youtube, the Moons youtube, Sadie’s youtube and Michael’s youtube as well. I’m excited about the carriage, the chateau’s kitchen, the convent ….I guess I’m a sucker for all of it. Question though….when can we see more of the chateau kitchen? I can’t find it anywhere.
@@ThePethericks Hopefully before then Billy will have secured "permitted access" through the ajoining car park, it would be so handy for lots of projects etc. Permission needed from the Town Mayor/Council or equivelant I believe. Billy mentioned it at the time the digger was driven through neighbours lane/path/field.
I kinda forgot about the hallway, I have a feeling it will be as amazing as the rest of the projects...the old world charm of the floor and the ceiling AND the new doors, just the icing on the cake...at every turn of this project there is an adventure...cheers...!
Billy, love your family and all your hard work. You are very skilled. Having said that, my husband is a welder by trade for 40 years. He looked at your welds and said, please let your friend do the rest of the welding lol.
🎶 A noggins we will go...🎶 At the price of that lumber, measure twice; cut once. Lol! Four hundred years from now, when the convent finally collapses, the library will still be standing! Archeologists will examine the ruins and say, "Boy, they really over-engineered that!" Lol!
saw an abandon mansion in American that had a small round porthole like ur doing in the library and it was so cool, with yours being bigger its going to be what people remember about the place for sure.
Billy, wood is expensive in the states as well. You are making a big investment, and making big progress! Your team is amazing, and when Simon arrives, you will add another pair of hands! 👏. Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Curious, as you drove that small dumper through that hallway. There won't be any decent size passage to the back yard besides going through the neighbors. I wonder if you'd be allowed to create a gated entrance through the wall on that side alleyway? Perhaps big enough for your truck and the digger to drive in and out of.
Ooo I'm excited about Paddy the carpenter being back with something... hopefully doors. And not like you don't have plenty of doors to choose from ... but yeah... can't wait! Looks like Mick and Yannis are having fun chucking things out the window... don't worry we'll be here to watch you... can't wait.
I know you talked about what to do with the convent in the future and im thinking event center/wedding venue. You could make the garden nice for outdoor weddings and have the chapel for indoor weddings. Plus all the rooms for guests, the nice kitchen for catering etc.
Love watching your channel. The convent is fascinating. When will the coffee bar go in? I'm looking forward to seeing that shiny coffee machine in action.
Använd trebalkarna 2 st till 1 kraftig balk, mycket billigare och lika bra. Franska tre balkar som du köpt är från snabbväxande tre och svaga. Så många som ni har återanvänd bättre för plånboken😊

Joists going in at the convent, Dan's place, and Ryan's place. It's like a momentary celestial alignment.
I watch all the same shows 😀 can't get enough
Me too 😂❤
We're all addicted.
You betcha! A Summer Solstice treat (northern hemi).
Me too!

Great work Phil. Can't wait to see you walk on the gallery ❤
5:23 🎶 this is one of my favorite "Petherick" theme songs 😊😊
me too. Talk about ramping up the energy, I'd love to hear it played live.

I love watching Ben and his dad too.
@@AnnaMarieKenward I’ve just discovered Ben this week 😂😂
Billy reminds me of a young Elvis Presley. 😊❤
Always great to see Phil lending a hand. ❤
Nice job done by Phi
wow watching the library take shape is even cooler than it was watching the kitchen transform. you all are doing an amazing thing! thank you.
You have come so far in the convent. When you stand in the kitchen it is so beautiful. Everything about it, from the windows, to the cabinets, center island etc, is stunning and now the library, the hall, dining room….Amazing!!! ❤
Pethericks and Escape to Rural France need a collab. 😊
Loved the format and flow of todays video. Got to see lots of progress.

thats a good idea, i absolutely agree it needs sorting asap

Sturdy looking lumber! Crack on tomorrow! 🙏❤️
Rain for the potatoes! 🙆🏼♀️

Chapel needs a lot of work and a lot of dedication. saving that one.

They have shown how exceptional their skills and design are!
Well done Billy and Phil 👏👏xxx💕💕💕
We have made lumber from our own trees, lots of work but cheaper. A friend has a sawmill. We could never afford to go buy lumber.
Great job Billy 👍👏
My favorite music ❤ great video, all so exciting.
Can’t wait to see the finished bathroom at the chateau and decorated bedrooms!
As spectacular & beautiful everything else has turned out…I know the library will be extraordinary!
I hear that music at the intro and I know it’s time with the Pethericks as surely as when Yanis says, “Let’s Crack on”!!
How does this channel not have 1million subs by now? Really enjoyed watching this whole project since the beginning. Keep up the amazing work and thanks for bringing us along, Billy!
look for your local saw mill tell them what you want, you will find they are cheaper
I have not checked in with you in a while and the finished kitchen looks fantastic! The library project seems well on course and will be so nice when it is finished. Well done, you!
I love the music you put in the videos. And the door can keep out the little critters
A beautiful work of art❤🎉❤
Billy your music choice at the beginning is epic and perfect for the epic job you men are doing!!
Love and respect from Canada

Another great video 👍🤗
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
I enjoy watching your progress.
Billy. Look at Dans video on how he is using the lifter to put several joists up at one time.
Great team work thank you for sharing 😊
Billy, I have a question. All these projects in the works but I have not seen any project to put toilets in on the ground floor. Toilets in convenient locations are extremely important. So you have a kitchen, a hall, a diningroom, a library but where do people go to the toilet?
Billy added a half bath onto his office upstairs some time ago. The office space was his first renovated space.
I remember plans mentioned, to have toilets put in left, after entering towards the part that sits before the library. So enter.into hallway, kitchen to the right, left to the gigantic room where the second half is being turned into library. At least that is what I remember.
But as we all know, plans can change 😊
In the garden 😮😮😮
Turn in the entry while we reception is going to be so in between the kitchen and what will be the library and dining room
Some nice restroom spaces on the ground floor are a definite must. I'm also curious if there are plans.
I love watching the convent progress!! I have been checking out Phil’s youtube, the Moons youtube, Sadie’s youtube and Michael’s youtube as well. Don’t forget the digger as when those doors are on ‼️ there’ll be no getting it back through 👍
digger came through the neighbours garden, need to get it back out at some point

Wood is crazy expensive now in the USA too. I feel your pain.
Wounlt miss your video for one day.

I have a vision in my head of how it will look…. Can’t wait to see it come together!!
Has the restoration at Notre Dame caused the expense for those long floor joists?
No i think prices rose globally for timber like that. Notre dame affected french oak prices mainly
Bigfoot is still there!
I just love your kitchen space.
Well done guys 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Love watching the progress 💙
Will you bring the digger out of the back garden before the new doors are installed? As I recall, it just fit through the openings?
Just fabulous! Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩

I see wood its starting! There's Yanis again helping out. As Billy says CRACK ON.......!!!
Wood not cheaper in Canada, my deck costed me a lot.
Exciting!
Great video - thank you Billy
What are the true dimensions for your floor joists? They look thicker than what we get in the USA.
SuhWEEET! I have been anticipating this for soooo long!
The potato garden is going to be happy with the rain! 😊
Please put window sets in the library windows....❤❤
I'm really behind on your videos! Hope to catch up soon. Everything is coming along so beautifully ❤❤
Phil might need a hand getting the bath out of the small room he making into a master suite
👍
Love how everyone is looking out for Phil😂
Just a thought.. you need seating in the kitchen at the workstations like stools, which would give you somewhere to drink your coffee.
I know you talked about what to do with the convent in the future and im thinking event center/wedding venue. You could make the garden nice for outdoor weddings and have the chapel for indoor weddings. Plus all the rooms for guests, the nice kitchen for catering etc.
Very cool 👍
Excitement is building Billy. 😊🏴
When you look at the kitchen like that you could not imagine they divided it and put 70s plasterboards everywhere hidding those amazing features
You are amazing
Cheaper to purchase a forest lot and a mill…… holey crapowski on the price of wood!
You should have put the stickers between the boards again so they can acclimate to the convent.
Likely won't be sitting very long.
👏👏👏
If you plan of actually living here. With so much space, especially that dorm space, you could make awesome home theater :P
The ultimate puzzle,, every piece you put in makes a major difference!
Oh,, centerpiece for Library,.. I am a pest, aren't I?
Everything is awesome! ❤
