After effects is a scary place. Learning but not on this level yet. I wonder if envato would have files I could import directly for media replacement. Good video again Javier.
A few days ago I was making a mogrt using media replacement for some images. It seems that whatever media you use in after effects while making the mogrt sets a bounding box for that asset in Premiere Pro. I learned this when I went in to use my template and added an image larger than the one I used in my mogrt's design. By default the image I used was cropped (I was using a series of hand drawn text to use as titles, so each title was different in width). The controls for the media replacement in the Essential Graphics panel in Premiere Pro give the ability to size to fit, but that only allows you to make the image smaller, not larger. The way I was using it, I essentially wanted to drop in images of varying size and be able to tweak that in the mogrt in Premiere. My hack around this right now is to also add in the scale property for the image layer into my mogrt so in premiere I can scale to fit the replaced asset but then size that whole thing up or down. This works for me because I can use an illustrator file so the size down and then scale back up works out ok since it's vector. However I imagine you'd lose the crispness of your image if it was a raster graphic. I noticed in this tutorial you mentioned your png files were set to 4K video size. This is a key point to make when dealing with mogrts like this as apparently having the same aspect ration as well as knowing your design works for the max size is important. If you or anyone else has any pointers on sizing things in mogrts for variable sized assets (like images). I'd be curious to see if anyone has a better technique I can learn from. Loved this tutorial Javier! The side by side of the colors was a brilliant way to make what the template is doing crystal clear.
Hey thank you David! Honestly I used mogrt files very little until now. The whole rasterizing capability seems to be a no go for this feature. I would guess that is because it take a lot of computer power to render those graphics at real time for playback. You would "essentially" be turning the "essential" graphics panel into a mini After Effects, which I kind of wish was possible. I am curious to as to what is the best way to approach this. I think if online video is a bulk of your projects than creating temp files at 4k is your best bet but even then I am creating a vertical video in this temp. I'm sure the feature will only get better from here on out.
Yes I created it, the first 2 minutes and 22 seconds of the video is me giving a summary of how I created the template using .png files I created in Photoshop as those colors you see.
This is fantastic Javier! Thank you so much for making this. On a side note, how has your editing experience been with a7siii footage in premiere? Have you considered moving to FCP at all because of the weird gamma shifts and export times? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Solid layers aren't working as well :( Precomposing a layer and then dragging it to the Essential Graphics does work so that might be a workaround in some cases
Have no idea how to use after affects but I still watched this video because your tutorials are so impressive!
very good teacher and i learn alot of ting from Mercedes. They way u talk is so much easy to understand and just well done from me
This is great! I hope to create some templates for my job but need a refresher on After Effects
Is there maybe a download for this template? 😁
Well this flew over my head. I wish there was a slower, more simple tutorial on how to create the template
This is a nice template

Thanks for the tutorial. Great video as always.
Thanks Edgard!
Helpful feature for those creating templates, will you be using it?
I want to be you when I grow up.
I'll only be using this because you showed it to me. Thanks a lot for these amazing tutorials!

wow.. this is like PH.D level! great!
very beautiful! can you make a tutorial of this havier?
THIS IS AAWWEESSOOMME! re-usable .mogrts is beyond cool!
thank you!
Keep living your life of abundance *pop*!
This is explained very well!
Thank you for this useful information

how did you get this template? is it something you created from scratch and if so how? or is it a downloadable preset?
Yes I created it, the first 2 minutes and 22 seconds of the video is me giving a summary of how I created the template using .png files I created in Photoshop as those colors you see.

great vid! I purchased a mogrt from premiere and the media replace is not working. Is there soemthing simple I am overlooking? Thanks.
can you add footage from your "TIMELINE" as well instead of the project bin?
thanks for this video, but my question is why I got a message saying: the motion graphic requires a dynamic link, I'm not using dynamic links
Hello javier when i import png noting it happening shall I change my after effects ver. because I am using 2020 ver. plez reply
can we do that if we dont export it in mogt format , we save a ae file then open in pro?
I tried to export like your tutorial but when I add to premier pro, the animation didn't work at all. it's still text/image :(
I haven't used the Essential Graphics panel yet but I wonder if using a solid layer (Cmd+y) would work instead of a shape layer
Ooo I’ll have to try that
Solid layers aren't working as well :( Precomposing a layer and then dragging it to the Essential Graphics does work so that might be a workaround in some cases
@@dejan907 That makes sense. When in doubt precomp 👍🏿
After Effects is da Devil.
Summary bro
Great video explaining nothing. So you pull out a whole done project and explain absolutely zero about how to get it accomplished.
Definitely not a teacher for women, completely lost. I wish a woman on RUclips explained this.
Hey Katin! I’d highly suggest Premiere Gal or Lila From RUclips . They are amazing female premiere tutorial creators.
