Ordered mine, waiting for the ‘vegan leather’ variant (I’m not vegan, I like the finish though). In AU we only pay in the $700’s which means in the UK this is way overpriced. For the money here it’s fantastic since anything close to this would be early $1000’s here. Pixel 6 Pro may be our best competition, once it’s released. Thanks for the opening and show off :)
Yeah but beware, the edge 20 pro that we are seeing advertised online here in Aus for A$700 to 900 is only 4G, it says 5G dual sim but if you look at the specs they are not actually a 5G phone, the advertisement wording is sneaky. The only 5G model I can find online is A$1400 plus and ships from the UK.
@@protenpinner Yeah the 5G isn't relevant unless you are in a metro area that actually has it, we have it in the area I live and also the area I work in Perth so I wouldn't buy a phone without it now, the network speed is phenomenal I have measured 600Mb/s using speed test a few times. I was only looking on ebay, the misleading 4G/5G advertising is really common on the Chinese ebay stores, the main header image will say 5G and when you read the technical specs they say the phone accepts a 4G or 5G sim (which of course it does they are the same) but when you read the detailed specs it's not actually a 5G phone.

Only problem with Motorola flagship devices is that they only promise one software update and two years security patches. Kind of lousy for a flagship device. Makes them almost feel disposable for people who plan to keep the device for longer.

There is no such issue with Edge 20 series, just go for it, I'm planning to buy Edge 20 pro this diwali if it's under 34k if not then I'll go with standard Edge 20.
The problem with smartphones these days is that the top players have taken hold of all the sales points. If you look at your mobile provider, they will try to force you into Apple or Samsung. Maybe they throw some Huawei/OPPO/Xiaomi in the mix but rarely will they offer you a Nokia, Sony, Motorola or any other reputable brand.
One feature that Moto phones have, which is frustratingly lacking in pretty much any other phone is the Flip to DND gesture. Inexplicable that others don't have it - I find it hugely useful.

A little more protection for the display in general and even more so for this Motorola, since it has an amoled one. Now, if they're going to make the chassis out of plastic I'd want the back also to be plastic and made in one piece, together with the chassis. Also a reduction in price of at least £130, since plastic is a cheaper material. Or they could made it out of a solid piece of metal (chassis+back), but that wouldn't all them many units.

Some manufacturers now can't compete on volume and cost to build, and probably don't expect to sell that many - so they are relying solely on past glory and/or the few who want to be a little different. For most of us the specs v price and competition don't make sense, so F3, Mi 11 or S21 all day long. I've had 3 Motos but now they don't know what they're doing imv.
They never knew what they are doing .... My last Motorola was a moto Z and it was a mess !!! Display burn in! Phone switched off with 50 Prozent battery!
I wanted the G100 and I found out that the Brazilians get a more powerful version with 12gb ram and 256gb. Us in mainland Europe we get the 128GB(Memory)/(RAM) version. I'm going to choose between the edge plus or the Motorola Edge 20.
12:40 I think as far as I know there's no 2mp rubbish macro lens but that 16mp ultrawide itself acts as macro which gives very good macro clarity.. Please confirm this
Great unboxing as always but the phone is a little too expensive for what you get I just bought the redmi note 10 pro for half the price and you get the same size camera 108 mega pixel stereo speakers 33 watt charging you don't get 144hz refresh rate you get 120 plus a bigger battery on the note 10 pro its a £500 pound phone
I think I'll get the Poco F3. Thought this phone would be good, but lots of stuff are just meh, and for that price point, no way I'll buy this phone. Though, I actually do find the design cooler than the Poco F3, but that's it.

The Edge Pro would be on my radar, if I didn't own my current S20 FE 5G which I got for less than £600 last year. I prefer the slightly smaller screen on my Samsung, stereo speakers, Bixby routines and general Samsung eco system. The Motorola only gets 2 years of updates, while my Samsung will get 3 years, then 4th year of security updates. The storage should not be an issue with the Motorola. I am using dual sim on my S20FE 128gb and still have plenty of storage space. I have a SanDisk 128gb USB C memory stick, plus using Samsung Flow, can move files between my phone and laptops fast and effortlessly, similar to apples air drop. No earphone socket means a dongle, but I have Galaxy Buds plus, so not an issue. I also had the official USB C earphones, so fully covered. The Edge Pro cameras have plus and minus points - no OIS on the main camera, but the telephoto camera has! Yes there are a few things missing to keep the costs low. I looked on the Motorola UK site, and they throwing in a Lenovo tablet for pre orders! I am sticking with my S20FE.

I love Motorola phones and after the Z line up my favourite is the Motorola Edge + from last year. But I really don't understand why Motorola named this Edge ,cause it's not an Edge display anyway , was waiting for a compact Edge phone.

Could you please let us know whether it is possible to hide the notch? On some Huawei phones, it is possible to not use the respective part of display for regular content, but still use the display area around the notch for status icons + battery indicator + time.

Just ordered the Moto G60S. Was torn between the Edge 20 Lite and the G60S. Decided on against spending €100 extra for the lite. Love the near stock android experience on Moto phones. Disappointed that Google didn't release the Pixel 5a in Ireland.
Same here in India. I am using pixel 3a & 4a..Google didn't launch 5a or 6 in India. Bought this e20 pro last week and sold pixel 4a. Happy with pixel 3a and Moto e20 pro until 2025.

You shouldn't have a problem with 2 years of software updates can easily use it for 3 4 years after that people anyway change their phones

As a mobile lover I feel 2.5D curves are beeter then 3D or flat screens.
Could you please let us know whether it is possible to hide the notch? On some Huawei phones, it is possible to not use the respective part of display for regular content, but still use the display area around the notch for status icons + battery indicator + time.

Just ordered the Moto G60S. Was torn between the Edge 20 Lite and the G60S. Decided on against spending €100 extra for the lite. Love the near stock android experience on Moto phones. Disappointed that Google didn't release the Pixel 5a in Ireland.
Same here in India. I am using pixel 3a & 4a..Google didn't launch 5a or 6 in India.
Bought this e20 pro last week and sold pixel 4a.
