I was really excited to receive mine. I will be returning my 2. And I did. The concept is great but not there yet. Possibly the next version will work better. I purchased 2 of the, Reflex 2's. One didn't work. The information screen wouldn’t light up and I had to unplug them from the power source and back in to have them start up. You can’t control them from the wireless trigger unless you purchase a $210 Elinchrom trigger. More money! The working one was inconsistent in exposure. It also has issues turning on. I hit the white power button on the battery and it doesn't turn on until I unplug it and plug it back in. Every 3rd or 5th frame was over exposed in burst mode. There is no 1/20 thread on the bottom of either the light or the battery pack. You are forced to buy Light IN Motion's overpriced nightstand mount $59 each and the speed ring adapter over priced at $159.00. For $2367.00 I would expect more. There are a lot of things I liked about them but they need to fix those misfires and inconsistent exposures.
thank you for this great video.... one question... how do you turn it off... I have tried turning it off by the white button but it seems to stay on and in the quick guide there is nothing that mentions how to turn off....thank you for any help with this
@@BandH Ok, you can turn the light on and off with the control knob while in use but to turn off the Stella Pro you have to actually unplug it from the battery, which is kinda weird but doesn't seem to be a problem. The grey button on the battery only turns it on. I just got the unit a few days ago and from what I understand, you can only turn it off by unplugging. Otherwise, in a shoot, just keep it on but in sleep mode, which instantly turns on with a push on the control knob. I am a Profoto shooter and I hope this gets a connection to those triggers. I heard it is coming but not yet. In my mind, I can use this as a constant light with lots of power to give a kiss of light outdoors, but mainly I would use it inside with a small soft box as a handheld steady light, especially in dark dancing set ups and I don't want to overpower the room with a flash. Also in the getting ready shots and I only want a touch of light with the barn doors.
To our knowledge, the StellaPro Reflex and Reflex S have not been tested specifically with the Flashpoint flash triggers. Your results may vary when using them together.
@@StellaProLights are they compatible with profoto triggers as i use purely profoto systems but would be interested in the hybrid nature of these lights
Some very compelling features, but without TTL compatibility, those features aren't very useful in the sort of shooting situations mentioned (e.g., weddings.)
It peaked my interest once I heard it could be trigger by various brands (i.e. Godox, Profoto, etc.) which is awesome.
Thanks so much for your interest. Please note that the supported triggers are Elinchrom and Godox. Profoto is not currently supported.
@@StellaProLights Thank you for letting me know! I misheard the wireless connections.
@@SeanColeyNo you didn’t mishear. We are still waiting for an update for Profoto. They state at 3:30 that profoto is supported
Out of my budget now but this is the future!
look at the new rotolight range - cheaper and much better

Wait. Now godox will also devlop this type of light at very reasonable price.

Wow!
Any info on who the photographer is? Would love to follow his work. Thanks in advance!

i heard the fan makes quite a bit of noise, important for videographers?
Just edit fan noise out of the vid, it’s so easy to
Is the handle the battery pack?
Yes, the handle is the battery.
+1 requesting tutorial how you created these images
Will this also work with Flashpoint triggers? ie Godox rebrand.

How strong is it compared to the godox v1?
The Light & Motion StellaPro Reflex S LED/Flash Head
BH #LI8500522A is far more powerful. >Mark
@@BandH as a flash?
How do you control the power and triggering of the flash? With which radio? With the profoto trigger? Is this true?
Hi - you can currently use the Elinchrom skyport triggers or Godox triggers to trigger the lights or set power levels for burst.
@@StellaProLights are they compatible with profoto triggers as i use purely profoto systems but would be interested in the hybrid nature of these lights
The Reflex and Reflex S can be triggered by the Godox X Pro and Elinchrom Skyport HS triggers. bhpho.to/3q8jPsL
@@robbyjai I heard that is coming. I have no independent confirmation.
my flash unit can do 7 bursts of course has motorized Zoom cover a large light pattern
Is there any chance the Stella Pros are compatible with Pocket Wizard, transmitters and receivers?
Unfortunately, the Stella Pro Reflex lampheads are limited to the Elinchrom Skyport and Godox X series triggers.

Too pricey and compatibility with standard mounting systems lacking and conflicts with the portability of the kit.
So expensive but nice.
Use it for video, thing overheats in 3 min in the sun and shuts down. Would be an excellent light if it didn’t do that. Super disappointed
No ttl??? No thank you.
Too expensive for what it is 🤷🏻♂️
