  • Salads are one of the easiest, healthiest and quickest meals to whip up. Here are some tips...Substitute grapefruit juice for vinegar in oil-vinegar dressings. Use almonds and dried banana chips as "crouton", to add some crunch to fruit salads. Perk up soggy lettuce by adding lemon juice to a bowl of ice-cold water, and soak in the refrigerator. Spin greens before making the salad or pat them dry with paper towel to keep dressings from sliding. You can make a multitude of salad dressings from one basic dressing if fresh lemon juice is used. Always make your base dressing (vinaigrette) with exceptional quality olive oil, it will make all the difference to the flavour of your salad.
