Hi Chris!!! thanks forthis PSA, it was about time someone had the guts and tell the other side of collection 7" singles....btw i only have 3, so i think i'm ok. cheers and be well
All that time spent buying 45s on You Tube...wow....my biggest arguement for 45s is B sides there are alot of rare b sides like on the Axel F there is shootout on the b side not on the soundtrack and the other when an album is ultra rare or expensive like Ultimate Sin by Ozzy, I can get the single 45 of Shot in the Dark. Side note, in a 45 picture sleeve I did find some old green stamps
I was on record shop today.. Went thru 7" boxes, but didn't buy anything. You have good points. I have tens of picture sleeves of 80s bands, why? Now I sm stuck in no. 1 reason - too pricy OG hardcore records. Please save me!
Think to yourself "This is very expensive, and the lyrics aren't even in English!" (substitute with Finnish when you are considering a record in English)
I have a huge collection of 7" records. Still buying them and don't intend to stop. I started in The UK in 1979 and now live in South Africa so enjoy finding local alternatives to the UK versions. A recent one was Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough which has the album version with the spoken intro split into Parts 1 and Part 2! SA 2nd hand record shops are good for finding some different ones but it's hard to find LP's that I am looking for.
lol I’m finding this hilariously funny on many different levels … I’ll have to listen several times before responding 🤔 “6 Reasons NOT to by LPs” ? RCA vs Columbia all over again !!! Lol
Great (approved) Schizos 7”! I never was a huge fan of the format, mainly for the reason#5. Thus ended up selling most of my 7”s years ago. But I have been buying them again in recent years.
Yes, some say the warbly 8-track of Styx’s Paradise Theatre is the reason society is in such a shambles today. I can’t dispute that. There are many punk and post-punk 45 rpm 7” that only exist on vinyl in that format, but yes can be $$$. There is also the collectibility aspect with the picture sleeves, like baseball cards as you say. Not my thing but I get it. Cleaning 45s on my vacuum machine is a real pain, too so no thanks. Singles are how I started with vinyl, so have that nostalgia factor. Long live twee pop!
some very cool 8 traks Willie Nelson , Styx, Waylond Jennings , Nazerath, Led Zeppelin, what made you go to London Ontario? is Toronto side or Ottawa? did you go in the winter or summer?
I've got a lot of recommendations here. I'll just make a response vid. All these will garagy or indy only 1 or 2 with screaming, mostly pretty listenable college indie stuff.
Those are the worst picture sleeves on earth. At least until you got to the punk etc... Multiple boxes of rekkids that you don't play!? I'm fixing that problem by taking a year and playing all of them.
@@RekkidTalk I'm playing all of them and if I say to myself "I don't need this" it goes in the out box. Also if I find out the rekkid is worth big bucks I put it in a separate section.
2 to 5 minutes music. So this must apply to eating also. Most 60s 70s singles didn't have picture covers. You are obviously a kiss fan buy the lp mug doll etc and never play th elp as the music is crap. If you could read you would notice it is called the vinyl community not the album community. We will stick to singles you buy your lps where most of the tracks are filler.

You're safe!
Sounds like the start of an avalanche to me.❄
I do have some 7”s picture sleeves of artists I don’t like, David Lee Roth.
We need a support group.
@@RekkidTalk I’m uploading a video that was supposed to be about purging records.

What did you get for those green stamps?
@@RekkidTalk Well it was a huge debate between a row boat and a sewing machine like the Brady's lol

@@RekkidTalk I'll try. Going to Stockholm soon. There are good change to find cheap 7"s... Quantity over quality?
Please don't buy any Swedish rekkids!
@@RekkidTalkVarför inte?

My warning was ineffective, ha! I like the occasional non US pressings I bump into for looking different.
VC Inspector did right thing! No Punk!
Tough love!

6 Reasons NOT to buy LPs, I'd watch that.

I have many unapproved records as well.
More hardcore EPs please. LPs are too long! Just talked yesterday with Vivisektio's Pena. 30 LP is way toooo long. 10 min/side is maximum.
@@TommysVinylnaut Talking about hardcore 10-15 mins per side is definitely the maximum I agree. Those two song 7” are my ’problem’.
@@DrOktober You need two record players to play singles. Wanna-be-DJining rules!
Jazz before 1933 is DA Bomb! Collecting 7 inch records is a cry for help! LOL
I've been able to avoid collecting 78s.

Everything bad can be traced back to Styx 🤣

I've never been to London, Ontario. That band "Single Mothers" was from there but that's not where I bought the record.
Of course, this video needs a RANT: RESPONSE video. Please stay tuned :)
Will do!
LOL. 💯. I do like them here in the Sunshine State. 😃👍☀🌴🌊. - Heather

Wow! I didn't know RUclips could be so boring!
I'm boring a couple of times a week.
