      @kamillad7285 9 лет назад +9

      The Turbanator Their is no "Gori Myth". The Only people who might believe ""Gori myth" are uneducated, extremely backward people who never stepped outside their door.
      Dont get confused with the traditional 3 other Pseudo Sikh "Goray" organizations like 3h0, Sikh Dharma International and Sikhnet. Those 3 organizations know Nothing about Sikhi.
      But this young girl is knowledgeable about Sikh Faith and Guru Granth Sahib.
      It is not Goray that try to "whitewash" (the same word u used) Sikhi, it is The Punjabi's themselves and that are uneducated about Guru's word.

    • @TheTurbanatore
      @TheTurbanatore 9 лет назад +5

      Kamilla D What im Basically saying is how i liked how she addresses the myth that White Sikhs know less about sikhi than Punjabi Sikhs, and the "Gori Myth" is True because we see it everywhere even in our own gurwaras where Amarthari White Female Sikhs are Look down uppon or even not allowed to do certain Ceremonies that a punjabi person would be able to do. In conclusion the "Gori" Myth is Real and we need to encourage all types of Diversity in our Gurdawara and the Panth. (End of Conversation)

    • @TheTurbanatore
      @TheTurbanatore 9 лет назад +5

      Kamilla D There are many Gurdwaras all over the world that look down on or don't allow people who are not Punjabi from taking part in certain ceremonies. ONE example is at my local Gurdwara at Ross Street in Vancouver Canada where my White Female friend wanted to do A Katha but they would not let her do it but they let an uneducated Punjabi guy straight outta India who cant even speak English properly do it. This is just ONE example i have stated there are many more.
      How dare you accuse ME of being "uneducated your backward" when i am Defending people of all races and genders who want to take part in ceremonies.
      I said it before and im going to say it again, Just because i Disagree with you dosnt mean i hate you...

    • @kamillad7285
      @kamillad7285 9 лет назад +1

      Ross Street is a "Gurdwara" ? Isnt that the Same "Gurdwara that invited Indian pm MODI, while huge crowds of Sikhs protested outside and were not allowed in?? Is that the Same Ross Street Gurdwara u talk off??
      Is this Same Ross street "gurdwara" that IS managed by communist punjabis, and frequented by ravidasia Sikhs?
      The same Ross street "Gurdwara that went againt Hukamnama in 1998 that by Akal Takth to take out furniture from Langar hall??
      Ross street is NOT a Gurdwara, it is managed by thugs, No Real Sikhs go their. Your white friend would NOT have had same experience if she visited another REAL Gurdwara in the Vancouver area.

    This is easily one of the most articulate, succinct and comprehensive summary of the problems in the Sikh panth, that if unaddressed, can lead to the demise of Sikhi. Well done!
    We must remind ourselves that Sikhi is Guru Nanak's great religion that delivered justice and equality to all, irrespective of race, gender, caste and religion. The same religion without which Indianism couldn't even have survived. Heck, if it wasn't for Guru Gobind Singh and the Khalsa panth, we'd prolly all be muslims. We must do our best to embrace the unique heritage we have inherited and let the flower of Sikhi blossom, as opposed to ditching it altogether because it's "inconvenient."

      Turban is 1 of the 5 K’s that’s one fact
      Bcz it’s kakka keski , kakka kanga, kakka kara, kakka kirpan, kakka kachera.
      Many ppl do this wrong. Im NOT saying now that we are aloud to cut our hair, but we have the. Keski to protect our uncut hair!
      The reason is Bcz look we get hair from when we’re born, but Guru sahib can’t give us again hair so he gave the keski to protect It!
      Eating meat is also wrong, for example ( it’s true tho) a cow can be 15 yrs old , but what we ppl do is letting the cow die when it’s 4 yrs old!
      How young is that!!!
      I hope I could explain it good , and if I didn’t then maaf karna. If u have questions pls ask them. Questions aren’t weird , Bcz we’re learning of asking in our life that’s why our name is SIKH ( student)
      ( ps I’m not saying now that I’m a saint or something , just that you can ask questions any time!)

People don't even go on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurb. There's only about 3 people in Darbar. I get that there's a akhand Path is going on but at least come on the Path's bhog (there's only 20 people).You guys would have to do a program there at Bandi Chor evening when people come. It's ridiculous. There are also people I know that call themselves "Sikhs" when they don't even know anything about Sikhi and Gurbani.

    I disagree with u. You can't compare this with a tree. Bandi Chot and the rest of this have never been part of roots. These roots have never been outlined as roots. One of many roots of Bani says " Gali jog na hoi, ek Drist kar some sar janey, jogi kahia soi" The one who looks upon all and knows that we are all equals is a Jogi, one who gives sermons is not.
    This should be a root, not your name and occasion that you celebrate.

    Excellent presentation on most of issues our community faces nowadays. I think the fault lies purely and squarely with parents( especially mom) as they think they need to join the mainstream west by aping to learn english and that STARTS the problem. if parents have as much passion and dedication to sikhi as this sikh lady then we HAVE TAKEN A MAJOR STEP IN MAKINK OUR SIKHI ROOTS STRONG.i have often heard in GURUDWARA PARENTS TALKING TO KIDS IN ENGLISH WHO ARE FEW WEEKS OLD .......ASTONISHING. sikhi is definately more that MATHA TEK, PRASAD AND LANGAR........WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

    This video is awesome. Never shy away from being a sikh. Who ever says you dnt know because u are a gori need to shut up and listen. Sikhs have not kept any independence from other faiths and communities who wish to convert us or the very minimum change our religion so its more islamic or Christian. Sikhs only believe in the gurus word. Sikhs have been Instructed to ignore all other maan maaat and not believe in the Quran Vedas and other books and their opinion of god and his laws this needs to be reinforced and practiced by sikhs and singhs and your parcharaks should be putting this out to the sangat via social media and other platforms otherwise over a long peroid of time ur sikhi will finish. Sikh and singhs should be taught to shout from their chests their uniqueness in look and belief sikhs are sovereign they are not Muslim Hindu or Christian and neither do we agree with what they beieve. Lack of gurmatshalla also are adding to ur problems. No sikh child knows anything about their religion just a walking empty shell.

    This is a very profound video in it's message and so relative to what is happening today in the UK with british media distorting the organic growth of Indian identity for their own fantasy fulfillment and ethnocentricisim.
    This type of message needs to be projected more to young Sikhs, well done.

    Sanatan is the seed from where all the sects like Hinduism, Buddhism, jainism, sikhism, radhasoami, namdhari, neeldhari, nirankari, arya smaji, vaishnavism, lingyatism and etc came from. So I really think that we should go in search for truth and truth is SANATAN
    BECAUSE SANATAN IS TRUTH AND TRUTH IS SANATAN.

    I think celebrating X-mas and Holiday/Diwali is fine for a Sikh.
    Sikhi believes in one God who loves everybody equally, One invisible power, no idol, do not accept any human to be a God,
    but Sikh should be very liberal and respectful to other religions. WE SIKHS are open to every good idea, that is what Sikhi is.
    Please read gurbani in Punjabi and their English meaning, You will find gurbani is telling you to be opened.

    Sister ji the main cause of the demise of Sikhi is because we do not have a country we can call home. Raj bina kauma da kush ni rehnda hunda na dharam na history te na ma boli. ik hal azadi and our rightful freedom and return of khalsa Raj without which Sikhs face a similar future as the aboriginal people of Australia and the native American Indians of America and Canada. par khalsa hi khals ho ke es kalyug nu paar karega.

    I absolutely hate it when Punjabi people keep fighting each other. That’s also how and why they are killing Sikhi for the community. When you fight each other, you can’t see the bigger problem, and if you’re divided, you can’t solve the bigger problems that affect the community… I hate these Gurdwara committee members who always cheat and lie their way in an election and use that money for stupid stuff rather than caring for the community by making places of learning to hire teachers for the children to learn about Sikhi and learn Gurmukhi effectively than they do now.

    I don't think pronouncing the name differently doesn't really kill Sikhi. The thing that is killing Sikhi is people cutting their hairs and some parents don't make their kids Sikh because they be like I don't want my kids to go through the pain that kids with hair do .
