- Welcome to Israelhvac's RUclips Channel. On this channel i bring you along on HVAC Service calls, HVAC Maintenance and pretty much anything else HVAC related. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
02:46 Look at the control wires, your orange wire for your reversing valve and your blue common wire are both nicked pretty good and pretty close to each other. It could possibly cause a short, but very unlikely. I always hate seeing nicked control wirings, so I would have stripped it back a little bit to get rid of that. I'm always over cautious when it comes to shit like that though.
Great video John I would say this since some new guys are watching, when you pull the wires from the contactor either make sure the air handler disconnect is off or I like to just pull the tstat wire plug from the defrost board. I have had too many times when all the sudden Mr/Mrs home owner starts playing with the tstat when you got the wires unhooked and then you end up blowing a fuse because the low voltage wires were touching the cabinet.
Leo Train that is a great point that I should of pointed out. Thank you sir.
Good video John, i have learned a thing of two from you. thank you for sharing your knowledge brother !
I bet that attics nice and cool with that spray insulation in the rafters
I started spraying down the outside coils of my AC and now I see a difference in performance.
I just started for a new company and I'm taking over the S.E.A. I check everything all wire connections ,refrigerant levels ect.. I always get something out of your videos. Thanks. I didn't know what ohms to look for on the contact. You should do a video on ohms and all the parts in the system that can be check.
I always appreciate your videos
I'm so sick of going on maintenance's where previous techs did nothing so it takes me a full 1.5 hour or more. I want to throw them under the bus but it's an unwritten rule not to.
hvac Tech Amen!!
Good video man I appreciate that
John , did I see right. A 4 inch filter on a residential air handler ? Barely see them on my Commercial jobs . Why is Carrier calling for a 20x25x4 filter , and not a 20x25x1 or 20x25x2. That filter was pleated , Merv11. We put in Merve 7 or Merv 8.
Mike Clark yes it’s a media filter. It’s a IAQ product. We put them on most of our jobs.
Mike Clark- Commercial uses 2” pleated filters on the roof top!
We use 4in on most of our jobs as well
And fuck ur 4 inch filter you guys suck i hope u guys dyee more money for me
Poor bastards don’t even use aprilaire accordion style media filters... pftt commoners
Excellent video
steveg5576 thank you
Good Lord.... what size is this system? Is that all the duct on 3 Zones /w no bypass? Wonder what that static pressure is on that poor ECM. ICP coils suck in the first place. Makes sense to run the coil at 600psi in heating on that 6" zone.
Good job
Great video! You can never be to thorough on maintenance calls.
Desert88 Z28 Thank you
Great pm
Joe Adamcik thank you
Man, those SUPCO caps are TRASH.
Replaced one on a maintenance last week that I replaced in May of Last year. (AMRAD or TitanHD only now).
Do you ever just check the caps while running under load to save time/get a more accurate test?
mike_HVAC yes sir I do
Thanks, much appreciated. ✌
Do you check pressures?
Good Video John
Mike Williams thank you Mike
You're welcomed my brother
You don’t check that cap under load?
LMAO🤣🤣🤣🤣
You tried to be so thorough but didn't even hook up gauges and take subcool or superheat values. You didn't check amp draws on the motors. You did nothing to check performance of system that like the biggest thing on a maintenance but ohmed the dang contactor lol
Also put the adjustable wrench on backwards, remember this is the same guy that wears cut off jogging pants and running shoes to a service call and films it.😂
Hi, when you checked the cap for ufs, you still had some wires connected to it. I thought you were to remove all wires to get a accurate reading. With wires connected to cap when testing, do you get a back feed? THANKS FRIEND
Ronald Cach I left the common on only. You have to disconnect the fan and compressor wires and it’s fine
Thanks
How long does it take you to do a pm?
No Compete Refrigeration Services - HVAC It all depends. We are not limited on time to do them like some companies. Just depends how many systems and if any repairs are needed.
Israelhvac- I have it to about 1.5 hrs per system including cleaning the Condenser coil. I go through the whole system. I see some companies say it takes only 30-40 minutes. If it’s done right it takes a while.
In regard to that situation, i used to work for a company for just the summer as they needed help. Needless to say they were focused on quantity vs quality. They got mad at me for going though and checking almost all of the components when the job description was "maintenance/pm". Guess there definition of "maintenance/pm" was just change the filters and wait for something to break down so they can get another service call. Have to say working there wasn't exactly fun. To bad there aren't more companies like the one John works for that actually care.
fastzombie1 - There still are companies that do a great job. It’s just like finding a great doctor!
Yep i agree, there are companies that do a wonderful job and pay attention to detail. Sometimes it seems like its few and far between.
They're Chinese???
THAT'S RACIST!
